Lottie looks brilliant. Lovely job George. It makes me wish I wasn't now too old and too financially challenged to commission a refit of a Contessa 32 from you. The Contessa is a classic beauty - perhaps the prettiest yacht ever.
What a great advertisement for tthe work you do, all credit to you the yacht looks amazing. Looking forward to seeing the next yacht to receive the treatment.
Just look at that beautiful boat! New portlights, new fittings, new everything. Just gorgeous. Wonderful work, George! And what a lucky and good bloke Jamie is to have you in his and "the Countess's" life. Brilliant!

Fabulous job gentlemen - both craftsman & client. You seem to have done each other & the boat proud. Lucky boat too - a very complete new lease of life. Wishing you much enjoyment of her in good health Jamie.
It’s well over thirty years since I first sailed a Contessa 32 and they’re still one of my favourite boats; and surely, ‘Lottie’ must be one of the finest. Congratulations George and Jamie and it’s so nice to see investment in a classic yacht rather than the money being poured into a ‘plastic fantastic’ with an a***e the size of a small country and which will look so ‘yesterday’ in a couple of years. Great job guys 👍.
My old stomping ground, the Hamble with my Rival 34….circa mid 1980’s. Jolly Sailor, Whyte Heart…..great build project, followed from the beginning. Superb boats. Now on a cat in America. Thanks, Andrew
Fantastic job. I saw it since the beginning. I dream for you to do the same to my boat. A lovely S&S swan 40 that has been lying for many years close to you.
Fantastic work! Basically that is brand new boat now. I would be very interested to see how the total spend compares with buying a brand new similar sized vessel of comparable quality. I’m a big fan of the classics and I wonder how many people in the market for a new boat would be swayed towards something like this if they new how much the difference in cost would be or not as the case maybe. She is a beauty!
New co32’s are available and they are a work of art but north of 300k GBP I believe so that leaves a good budget to buy an older boat and refit it ti a high standard while being a saving on a new one. But for some folk they want to be the first owner and I’m pleased that is the case as the builders (JRL) are a super-nice bunch. It also keeps the numbers up, not many are lost but one or two have been wrecked sadly but overall the number of co32’s is increasing slowly.
So funny thing, I've been watching this rebuild since the osmosis treatment videos whenever that was, and it turns out Ben is our neighbour on the pontoon in Peel and we noticed Lotte had arrived last week, and now she is in the opposite birth to us. Of course we've been to have a nosey at her and she is very lovely. Looking forward to seeing her out sailing. Oh and my Grandmothers name was Lotte so spooky too!
Yeah I agree, there are always extra bits but ran out of time to do a few final jobs but time for her to sail and got to leave a couple of small jobs for the owner (there is even metal polish left onboard - not kidding!)
When I hear the word influencer, I laugh. No one is influencing me. That was before I started watching your channel. Now I wanna buy a fkin boat!! Cheers!
Lotte looks absolutely beautiful and will give many years of enjoyment. Congratulations. I would like to ask one question though, regards the positioning of the B&G chartplotter and the compass on the bulkhead. A position where many lines run and where crew sits in bad weather. Both can be easily damaged. Wouldn't it be preferable to make larger instrument panel above companionway hatch? Can I have your ideas and opinions please?
That’s a fair point. The compass was replaced but there was already a compass in this position, it’s kinda the std place on a co32. It is in the middle of your back in you want to sit there but that’s easily overcome with a cushion. Re the chart plotter/mfd that is a fair comment but in reality many have them fitted in this position and I have seen very few damaged so I don’t think it’s such a big issue and its location here makes it really easy to reach while helming. I have a co32 in the family that has one installed above the companionway as you suggest but it’s a smaller screen and not quite so convenient to use (although it is central in the cockpit so that’s a bonus. On another 32 I work on there is a mfd/chart plotter in the bulkhead on both sides and no instruments at all, that works well too. Thanks for the comment.
Depends who built it and when but it’s close to 6” by the galley. I’m a bit taller but on my boat (like Lottie) I had the centre hatch option so could always stretch out straight there.
Lovely episode. A great way to finish & Jamie has a beautiful yacht to play with now. Fair winds ⛵️

Been looking forward to this one for a while .... better than new, really lovely work and finish, well done all 🙂
Thank you so much 😀

Thanks, I don’t always do big refits like this, it’s often smaller jobs but it’s nice to have the mixture in my worklife
Beautiful boat, what a project. Safe winds Jamie. Looking forward to the next project George.
Fair winds and following seas Jamie
She looks stunning!, I like all the black details, like sails, sprayhood, electronics etc etc... and the inside!
What a brilliant end to a superb project. 👏👏👏
She looks great and enjoyed watching the refit.

Best refit on youtube! Your workmanship is a credit to you.

Congratulation for your Chanel, nice sailboat. Greeting from Spain.

Nice. I bet it’s changed a bit in that time but the jolly is still there

Haha amazing! Bens a nice guy. As always there are extra things that can be done but I’m sure the owner will be happy for you to take a look.
Awesome job impressive I did notice the pulpit could do with a polish

George -- If brewing tea ever becomes a sport, you have a place in the broadcast booth. LOL
Haha, thanks, that’s the dream but I also think I’d be a competitor as I always have a tea on the go!

This has to be a bit bittersweet a moment, saying goodby after putting so much effort in her. If nothing else good works live on.
Yep, very much so. Made the owner promise that he would sail it and not worry about adding the odd scratch because that’s what it’s there for!
Great job, whats the standing headroom on a contessa 32?
