Lyrics Candle light, it burns in every hole of your eyes It's beautiful, how much you'll never realize So hush my love, there's something I'm to tell you now Your time has come, around again my sleepless one Your friend was young, hung and plastered He never knew his own disaster I think it's good, in fact it was faster 'Cause it was you that he was after Hold me now, as if you'll never let me go Unhand me now, as if you've always known my name His love was king, his love was master He needed more, he needed always He searched in vein for love and shelter In every soul, in every hallway So you thought she'd be sweeter than your girlfriend peter Well give it a second chance 'cause you've yet to meet her We got the same ideas, we got the same old fears They're different colors sometimes, but, hey, who cares Just years that tears our lives apart Just like the time that you tried to teach your cousin to walk He couldn't do it-push!-you told him twice Well, I do man but it just don't jive Tried so hard to control my behavior I tried so hard, so hard to believe you But now I live only to deceive you So kick and scream
Too bad Chuck chose heroin over this band. He even said it himself. His addiction never affected him on stage but the management knew it was only a matter of time. Ended up dying from it in the end.
@RODRIGO ST Addiction is complex. Your point of view is too black and white. Drugs are insidious and can fall into the hands of young desperate people who have been abused. They are an escape that is can be hard to come back from. We can only be thankful that Roddy got away from the grasp of heroin.
The fluency that Fuck You leads into Chinese Arithmetic is crazy. I don't have an album version of Chinese Arithmetic in my brain at all, just this version. I'm not complaining, I fuckin love it!
Most of us say that faith no more ar not same as before ... around 1990 but currently is music for who want to listen them .... offical haters just silence go to listen reggeton .
Yeah I have to say it’s a bit annoying with the dice roll that is live Mike Patton. He clearly can sing exactly how he wants to but often chooses a way that entertains himself and mocks the situation. You can see he tones it way down during more serious televised performances, which only can mean he cares how those performances go down. It’s a good song and it would have been a nice show of respect not to butcher other peoples work. Love the guy, but this live schtick gets exhausting.
I love fnm but patton live acts so crazy that he preforms his songs with waaaaaay to much energy and ends up just mashing the lyrics and his vocals.... he needs to stop trying to take up so much energy and just fucking sing normally
danielscissorhands LoL please. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in awhile. Chuck sounded like he was pushing out the words. God rest his soul and bless his humility for admitting Mike Patton is a much better singer
Geraint Lewis True. Chuck wrote very interesting lyrics. He was also clever in how he would mix up his delivery, but limited vocal capabilities is one of a few reasons why Faith No More fired him. Mike Puffy Bordin in a 1995 interview talking about the firing of Jim Martin; said they knew in 88' that Chuck took them as far as he could ever and they needed to do something different to continue.
So in the beginning of this where he says sometimes the audience is better than the band. Who or what band is he talking about? I so want to know who made our Mikey so angry.
He says fuck you to the audience. Perhaps nobody knows faith no more anymore. I don´t know, but i´m pissed off. But anyway, it is one of the best Songs from FNM. I remember when I once bought the Angel Dust CD after I hear the Song Midlife Crisis on MTV. CA 25 years ago.
Let’s be real. I don’t think there’s a single band bigger than FNM from the 90s that had that punk (I’m being generous) singing style. It went mostly out of fashion with The Clash mid 80s. Yeah “Green Day” you counter? That would be like Mosley on autotune. Like it, fine, but let’s be real here on what catches on.
omg they did Lily allen's "fuck you" for the intro
Patton never learned to sing from the diaphragm. So he learned to sing out of every single other muscle and orifice in his body.
How come Patton never recorded this song in the studio? It's one FNM's absolute classics. I would love to hear an album version with Mike!
subzerobob id probably cuz of the f bombs
@@zachwells8994 what f bombs?! the intro cursing here is not part of the original song. the original song's lyrics are absolutely beautiful!
Same with his version of Mark Bowen. Just came across that song from their debut album and I'm obsessed!
My guess is that Patton recognized the genius of Mosley long before any of us asked “what is it?” (It’s it!)
By the way if you like this song do yourself a favor and google “cement chuck mosley” right now.
Nothing beats this song. W/out Chuck. Nothing.
agreed.....chuck just had an organic sincerity that suits the albums he did. but the re-record of 'as the worm turns' with patton is just so good 🤘
Patton is my father..
Очень крутой! 👍
Souns better whith the time. Amazing perform. Thank you guys.

Candle light, it burns in every hole of your eyes
It's beautiful, how much you'll never realize
So hush my love, there's something I'm to tell you now
Your time has come, around again my sleepless one
Your friend was young, hung and plastered
He never knew his own disaster
I think it's good, in fact it was faster
'Cause it was you that he was after
Hold me now, as if you'll never let me go
Unhand me now, as if you've always known my name
His love was king, his love was master
He needed more, he needed always
He searched in vein for love and shelter
In every soul, in every hallway
So you thought she'd be sweeter than your girlfriend peter
Well give it a second chance 'cause you've yet to meet her
We got the same ideas, we got the same old fears
They're different colors sometimes, but, hey, who cares
Just years that tears our lives apart
Just like the time that you tried to teach your cousin to walk
He couldn't do it-push!-you told him twice
Well, I do man but it just don't jive

I tried so hard, so hard to believe you
But now I live only to deceive you
So kick and scream

Chuck 💜
Bordin is a fck machine!!!!
3:48 WTF jajajaj patton... The Best singer
I'm pretty surprised this is on ZDF actually
Too bad Chuck chose heroin over this band. He even said it himself. His addiction never affected him on stage but the management knew it was only a matter of time. Ended up dying from it in the end.
It wasn't a choice.
@RODRIGO ST Behave, you twat. You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Addiction is not a choice.

Cancer isn't a choice. So fuck you.
The Cream Soda line from Annes Song had me fooled.
Love hearing Patton do Mosely
My my poker face...
Con todo respeto, Patton aquí no le llega ni a los talones a Chuck.
This version sucks, but Patton did great live versions in 89/90. Chuck’s is best though
Well said!!
PATTON IS GOD
This song belongs to Chuck.
@@lucid_delirium976 Thats for sure. Mike Patton is great but he aint no Chuck.
genius!
Майк Патон охуенен
Total Mandela effect, but I could've sworn the lyrics were "teach my cousin to fart."
They have the same rap in two of their songs.
You're thinking of 'R & R' (the song)
The fluency that Fuck You leads into Chinese Arithmetic is crazy. I don't have an album version of Chinese Arithmetic in my brain at all, just this version. I'm not complaining, I fuckin love it!
This is mike.....this is FAITH NO MORE

Amazing!!!!
Soooooo scream, sooooo kick
I want this studio version when he was young
Hermoso
Why cant he sing it properly
Without Chuck this is nothing. I was 10 listening to this. I’m 39 now.
And Mike patron is one of the humans I would keep alive.

@@sibbyeskieWell said lol. But also in a lot of live video recordings, audio takes a back seat and can suck. This one has decent audio though
I love fnm but patton live acts so crazy that he preforms his songs with waaaaaay to much energy and ends up just mashing the lyrics and his vocals.... he needs to stop trying to take up so much energy and just fucking sing normally
Chuck sang this way better.
+danielscissorhands So true!!!
But he couldn't have sang it like this.
danielscissorhands LoL please. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in awhile. Chuck sounded like he was pushing out the words. God rest his soul and bless his humility for admitting Mike Patton is a much better singer
TheHouse86 Yeah to about 1% of Faith No More and music fans

He seems like he's saying it in reference to the band that played before them.
He's interpolating Lily Allen's "Fuck you (very very much)"
he's simply complimenting the audience.

❤️
Patton is not Faith No More.
Not all by himself, obviously.
@@skipdonaghue9451 Though I wouldn't put it past him to get up on stage as a one-man band. Bass drum, symbol, harmonica, guitar, kazoo, triangle.....
Faith No More is not Mike Patton
“Fuck you. Fuck you, very, very much”
Faith No More would have been bigger than this with Mosley and Big Jim still in it...
Utter nonsense!
