Catherine seems honest and professional. I wish I had time to attend these events. It would be an honor to be represented by an agent like her.

Fluent, but at 2.03 she says 'if he's not marketable,' and I wonder if this move into gender is a slip of the tongue. On the other hand, she speaks quickly and without notes. Nevertheless, as an older, male writer I think I would avoid.

I don't know Catherine or have any affiliation with her, but she unequivocally doesn't slip into gender at all there...she says "if someone is close, and it's just not quite there, and it's not, maybe, not marketable...". I think passing on someone that appears to be a perfectly competant, passionate agent because of something you (mistakenly) perceived to be gender discrimiation (which, let's face it, as a self-professed 'older, male writer' isn't something you're going to face compared to a female writer of any age) says more about your outlook on the subject than hers. I'm not trying to have a go at you, but I just think that comment was a little backhanded and unnecessary.
