    Absolutely love that you practice and teach the aspects of patience and never settling for a mediocre shot (or product, as you mentioned the previous video you never posted). Lessons I am now taking with me every time I go out shooting. Thank you!

    that's an amazing photo, tilting the lens and keeping the mountain at the edge of frame what's made the image works so good. you are blessed with such location

    Man the more I see your videos the more I feel I need to make it a point to travel out there some day and see if for myself. It’s always so beautiful even on the “bad days”. Thank you as always for what you do man, much appreciated!

    Those mountain waterfalls!!!! What the . . . . . . unbelievable. Thanks for taking on a little bit of a bush bashing adventure. Something I would struggle to do after having had the "don't leave the track" drummed into us for the Australian bush . . . . .hahahha. Stunning scene with as the clouds moved and changed.

    Such a good fun vlog, William, and beautiful to boot. I'll be very interested to see the difference if you ever take the shot of your vision.
    Just loved the way that patch of vivid blue sky seemed to be reflected in the blue metal/gun barrel type colour of the rocks.

      Thank you Joan. The peak was covered just a touch too much for me! Still enough to hang on to the image for now, but I know there’s a better one there to be create. Thanks !

    Another excellent video Will. Really enjoy seeing you explain the behind the scenes planning and trekking before the shot. I do similar things re my seascape and waterfall hunts re Windy, BOM rainfall data, Google Maps etc. Half the fun for me is in the planning and such a buzz when the plan actually delivers! Cheers Chris

    Will, thanks for an early morning trip into paradise. Great advice about leveraging from the distortion to magnify some aspects of an image when using a wide angle lens.
    Loving these little gems - and a massive thanks for getting out from under what must have been a nice warm duna to get these awesome videos in a cold wet outside!

    Beautiful image well worth the effort. I'm so looking forward to my trip to the South Island later this year. I won't have the physical ability to play mountain goat like you do, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed with views from easy-to-moderate hikes or even the road.
    By the way, kudos to your videographer for documenting your adventures. He/she does a great job.

    Always great adventure into that area, awesome result of what you came to capture William, with your focus stacking on the final image did you only take one for the foreground, one for the mid ground and then one on the mountain ? Love to know your thoughts. Great part of the world, thanks for sharing.

    • @WilliamPatinoPhotography
      @WilliamPatinoPhotography  Рік тому +3

      Thank you Ross. Only two frames needed, one in immediate foreground then another in the back. With the narrow Fstop there’s enough overlap. Probably couldn’t just used the single image to be honest. Cheers mate!

    I have to ask - Did you stay late and scramble down that scree in the dark or did you bug out right after the shot? 😀 Very nice image, IMO.

    • @WilliamPatinoPhotography
      @WilliamPatinoPhotography  Рік тому +2

      This was captured at midday, believe it or not 🤪 The beautiful thing about of living down this way. But going in the dark would’ve been fine, with a head lamp.

    Do you save the photos you're not happy with? I'm debating whether I need to keep my non-winners to use as a reference for self-improvement and practices to improve upon.

    • @WilliamPatinoPhotography
      @WilliamPatinoPhotography  Рік тому

      I only process the ones worth keeping. Portfolio shots. I generally won’t save the rest if it’s obvious. Every year I’m saving less and less raw files. It also depends on time. Sometimes I’ve only got time to dump the whole memory card and then I don’t ever get back to deleting.
