I'm 10 and I have been learning this song in choir and me and my bestfriend that I stand beside in choir always cry when we sing this D; LOL. annie. You have made my day darlz-3.
Angus was the name of the Celtic god of love and poetry. Also, after reading all the myths and stories, it was was the name I chose for my little boy... born so far away from Scotland. We sang this to him in the womb. He is our little dream come true (now 2).
Omg we learned this at school, the Scottish weavers would sing it to their weans to get them to sleep, i am actually crying typing this, i never knew Annie sang this. I sang this to all my kids and was wanting to learn the 2nd verse to sing to my baby granddaughter. Thanx soo much for posting this this xx
I can't listen to this and not have a wee greet(cry) it really conveys a parent's love for a new wee baba. There is no feeling to match when you rock your own crying baby to sleep and you see their wee face turn all peaceful.
, ive never heard this before Annie sings it so beautifully brought tears to my eyes , im going to learn it so i can sing it to my grand daughter :) thank you so much for sharing
reminds me when I went to church , but I lost my religion .but still believe in humanity . if they can stop hating & start loving each other. I love every body . piece
A very nice rendition of this Scottish Lullaby but please listen to Barbara Dickson's version I believe she has captured its message better.and sounds better by far musically and lyrically
My mother sang this to us all in exactly the same intonation, and it makes me cry even now and especially now ❤
This is lovely. The fact that it’s being sung in an authentic Scottish accent makes it even more moving - at least to a fellow Scot.
I also appreciate Annie's Scottish accent as she sings this beautiful, captivating song.
I like the fact that she sounds totally natural and speaks just like any other normal Scot. Not exaggerated, just relaxed.
I entirely agree is a beautiful ballad and it originates from Scotland .Especially if any prominent Scottish Artists are singing this song.😀
