@redblade1995 1 BTC is currently about $14, so having about 100k coins means you have a TON of money, but it varies. Personally I think anyone who can afford over 1000 coins is rich.

Oh man, I was one of those who laughed this off back in 2010. I even visited some of these sites and played with the idea. Hindsight can be excruciating. I hope you're doing really well now, Factrocks.
I think we're about to have another chance, coming very soon. One of those once in every ten years type of chances. 5g is coming out and a number of other technology trends we should all look into and jump onboard with by investing, and I think crypto is only going to be even more useful and valuable in the coming future. We'll need it. We're going to be off-world too. It's crazy!

I think i only tried the faucet for small amount of btc. didn't understand loading the whole blockchain, (and then the transactions would appear). So I had the bitcoin client in 2009 and it looked nothing like this. It consisted of a reoccurring loading bar a little guy with a yellow construction hat hitting some ore with a mining pick. This was before digital wallets I believe. I downloaded the client after reading the whitepaper. My computer has been in storage for 11 years now as I have been overseas but I do recall mining for a few hours a day. I was wondering if you have any knowledge of the client that was before the one you are displaying in your video.

I come from the past. I was aware of Bitcoin on 2009. I'm also a software developer (as I was back then). I hate myself for not having paid any attention or given any importance to this when it first turned my head back then.

nah becuase it was very scammy at the time and too much b..s with hackers and problems its only because big because its became what it was against ran by big banks and for rich people now.i had many stolen about 1400 and couldn't recover trust me 99% of people got robbed or forced to sell over early years. less then 1% of people after 2015 had it more then a year i only got a few last year when it became mainstream because I knew it will only go up and don't have to worry about losing it its still a good long turn investment what you buy now will 10x in 10 years.
I'm not sure if you still respond to comments, but since the rise of Altcoins such as LTC or Litecoins do they require a separate wallet or can you have 1 wallet for all your alt coins?

@Lastindependentthink The blockchain takes care of double spending, take a look at the bitcoin whitepaper for more info. Self imposed transaction fees to miners will gradually replace mining rewards.

The way I see it, it is a good investment opportunity. Buy 1 bitcoin now (€46), have the equivalent of €100 later. Continuous exponential deflation is unlikely, as people can only go so far (where deflation is not the contraction of the bitcoin supply, but the increase in value). Demand has to fall when only the elites can get their hands on them. A surge in btc/EUR and btc/USD is likely due to raging inflation. Bitcoins will be like gold or platinum, unreachable for the common people.
