Been listening to tool for nearly 20 years & still haven't decided on a favorite tool song. Every time I think I have a #1 picked I connect with another song at a different level.
There is just something in their music & lyrics that can open your mind and leaves you feeling changed. After all this time it's literally the only band that I still listen to on a regular basis.
That said, they need to get another album out soon so I can die in peace

I gave up trying to choose a favorite song a long time ago. Can't be done. I'm 71 and a 15-year fan and I still marvel at the fact that it is only 4 people creating these sounds.

Yes, it is impossible, however, I have my most-est favourites, just like a best of album. I usually listen to each of their albums in a whole though.
My fav dozen in NO particular order:
      Opiate
      Prison sex
      Eulogy
      Forty six &2
      Third eye
      Grudge
      Lateralus
      Reflection
      Vicarious
      Pot
      Lost keys+Rosette stoned
      Right in two

The moon, the brightest and fullest body in the night sky, is simply reflecting the light of other bodies. Even though the moon provides light to everyone, she has no light of her own. In order to be full and bright, just like the moon, one must reflect the light of others onto themselves.

You basically summed them up. Tool is a collaboration of some of the greatest artists at their particular instrument, combined with the song writing genius of Maynard and capped off with his unique lyrical delivery. There is no other band like Tool. There may never be.

Tool is one of the last few artists left. They make new music. Over 90% of today's music is just copying what others have done before that was successful. They just want a 3 minute catchy tune to get rich. Imagine if every artist just painted versions of the Mona Lisa. That is what has happened to most current musicians.

Bro, I happened along this channel by chance, and it's become my favorite reaction channel of all time. I love your positivity, your appreciation of music, and although I'm biased as Tool is my favorite band of all time (at nearly 40 years old, I've been following them since their original EP and nothing has spoken to me more as an artist), I can honestly say that I've never come across another band that has inspired so much creativity, passion, introspection, and healing than Tool has in my life. Keep up the amazing work, and please do a video on Tool's "The Grudge" and, for something completely different, take a listen to Pale Horse's (the original bass player from Tool, Paul D'amour 's band) song "Intercession." Very curious to hear your thoughts.

loved watching this...as usual! I thought it was an *excellent* fan-made video with lyrics, and I liked how at @3:00 you were looking really thoughtful and hadn't said a word yet...while the music was really only starting to take on any complexity at all...you were entering that space. And it was great to see, as in most of your reactions I've seen.
Honestly, I sat down to make some progress on one of my games...and I watched five of your reactions. xD
Cool to know you are taking in the music and lyrics together and reflecting upon them.
I especially loved how you picked out something central to the lyrics (The moon tells me your secret/My confidant/As full and bright as I am/This light...) ... which I feel directly provides for this song's title. TOOL certainly did a great job of framing the "secret meaning" in a greater context using the rest of the lyrics + music ... and I think you did a splendid job showcasing it, with some good words of your own, for all comers. Bravo!
Btw, did you go to NCSU? You always say "welcome to the *pack*" and do that wolf head thing with your hand...just wondering. Peace, bro,

I've always said that Tool is Maynard's intellectual and spiritual side reflecting outward and A Perfect Circle is more in tuned with his primal and emotional side.
