    4th generation. Used to travel with my dad also. I love everything about it. I helped for 5 years and most broke out welding. It's a rough life and it's hard someone's but it's a lifestyle not many people in this world will ever understand. Once it's in your blood it's there! Stay safe brothas!

    My 15 year old is graduating from a 2 year welding course. It started with 20 guys average age of 19. Only 4 made it. He's 15 (be 16 in June) and I'm proud of him. He knows that his 4 certifications is a licence to now go learn somewhere. But he can't work for a company until he's 18. But he's a wheeler dealer and works part time a a body shop under the table and has bought himself 2 vehicles and don't even have his licence yet....lol.

      That's amazing. With that work ethic he will be able to eventually get any job he wants. That's what is takes especially in this trade. Wishing him all the best.

    Hello from Houston, TX!
    I’m 32 and done making babies 💕 and I’m happy to have everything settled in my home life now. Hooorayy 🎉
    I feel fulfilled in that area and it warms my heart to know that I have a full support system from all my family and friends as I begin my career.
    I’m about to start a 4 month welding course in February. I'm helping my husband get his CWI cert. he’s been welding for 16 years. So that’s been a big help!
    I’m enjoying all the information and advice your channel provides.
    Thank you 😊

    Similar situation. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity for my dad to be my welding forman. He’s been welding for +30 years, and his dad did the same before him. I came up as a helper. Helped for four years, moved up to straw boss for 3, now I’ve passed a welding test, just need our company to land a solid job and test for it.

    I never understood why some of these guys get mad when someone says their goal is to go to the top. Me personally I don't wanna be doing my craft for 30 plus years before im at the top lmao. Im an NDT Tech graduated in May im learning as much as I can as fast as I can so when my fourth year comes around I can become CWI or QC. Im not going to be a Tech for 10 plus years. So far all of my fellow techs are in aggreance.
    Ps. Yes im aware its 5 yrs before taking your CWI test however when you go to school for NDT you only need 4 yrs experience instead of 5.

    So much respect for pipeliners 👏🏼

  • @morganweller1491
    @morganweller1491 3 роки тому

    Thats the best advice the guy gave be humble when you start being a pipeliner don't be a know it all start from the bottom cause those 50 year old welders have so much knowledge its crazy and if you don't respect them they will have you grinding for 6 months straight and you'll quit after 2 .months seen so many times young cocky kid did really good in school but trade school isn't pipline welding way more shit to learn and do just be humble and listen and the older guys will see you're motivated and listening and will take you under there wing shout out to Grant old timer that took me under his wing and made me the welder I am today!!!!

    Ever do a video on the logistic of who owns or contracts your services. I think it would education for the those getting into that career to know to do their due diligence. We known a few people close to the family that end up severely hurt (its a construction job at the end of the day) and were at a loss navigating though owners, contractors, and subcontractor.

    • @liftedchevy303
      @liftedchevy303 6 років тому +3

      There’s no such thing as “college” for welding. You go to a trade school which is NOT the same as a college or university. Welding is not a degree. It’s a trade. Not education. It is physical labor. In welding you get a diploma of completion. Which is nothing more than a cheap, worthless print out. I get a diploma of completion when I passed the presidential physical fitness test for doing the most pull ups in second grade p.e. Class.

      duramaxwelder That’s not true , once u get certified and licensed you WILL get a better job than someone who just starts from nothing w nothing. My friend went to trade school and started making 23 an hour off the bat so it’s not like you’re paying money for nothing like you’re saying.
