Really great teachings
An excellent talk - especially the bit, 40 minutes in, about never finding hapiness in the material world. Everything that you said, I too discovered for myself 40 years ago. I was laughing all the way!

I'm your age and have lived in a tent in the jarrah forest (over our backdrop Darling Range) for 12 years. Now I'm camped 35 mile up the road from Serpentine.
When there's a fine day with a northerly tailwind back, I'll ride the pushbike up for an oat bar and almond lunch amongst, "The weeds around the Monastery," before heading back.

Hi Reverend Ajahn Brahm, what is Buddha’s teaching on People offering him slaughtered animals or animal products? Can we find his teachings in his scriptures? I asked because I wish to know what Buddha’s ORIGINAL COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC. 🙏
Buddha would never encourage people ki kill them for any means also for food and that's the teachings of the buddha
His five teachings for people who has family are
1 don't steal what is not yours
2 don't lie don't speak harsh language
3 don't drink alcohol and any type of such products like drugs and cigarettes &all
4 DON'T KILL ANY ANIMALS OR INSECTS
5 don't involve in any type of sexual misconduct
Do you think we can praise buddha by giving him any type of meet for alms by killing someone
Buddha would never encourage to do that

About animal products food. Monk can eat animal meat..!!
The reason is the monk must be keep going begging people for the food. monk cannot buy the food themselves ( the original teaching )
For begging people the food monk can not choose any kind of food, monk just eating the food for living life but need to practice to have no feelings in foods.
Is there a talk of Ajahn Brahm about what is going on in the world right now? Depopulation and great reset?
