Thes craziest thing to me is that the show doesn’t even need an appearance by the bat at this point, it’s strong enough on its own. By far the best comic book show since punisher/daredevil

@@shmoofpapi The Batman Part 2 definitely has a bit of heavy lifting in it's opening act to explain where Batman is holed up. Sure, there's the fact that he took a hell of a beating and literally had to inject himself with adrenaline just to keep going. He could be out of commission for a while. That would explain his absence the first half of the season at the very least. Also, large parts of the show have been happening during the day - so we could see him investigating during night time. But even then, wouldn't you expect Oz to warrant a re-visit? Or at least Sofia, being the last remaining Falcone and starting a new family under a different name? I'm sure Matt Reeves got it covered, but I'm certainly left with some questions...
11:30 Oz was listening. Later in the episode he asked Vic about the situation. His reaction in the moment seemed to express that the issue was so minor that it wasn't worth discussing unless it was "a problem"
thank you for pointing it out for em lmao. he absolutely heard it and Rosh was right. Compared to his deathly ill mother, its not something he cares to respond too. He actually took the time after what he was saying to ask Vic if the situation was a problem.
Haven't heard anyone else say this, but when Oz said "it gets easier" I got the feeling the way he said it was sad and regretful, like he was really telling himself.
So much of his talks with him always feels projective, like when he yelled at him for messing up and forcing him to lie in the grave, like that was like he was also yelling at himself
@ Oz does see in Victor himself as a younger man. Both from Crown Heights. Vic lost his family; Oz lost his brothers. Both with a disability that marks them as outsiders. Both turning to crime for the means and respect they lacked. Just as his mother pushed him to be bigger than himself, he’s pushing Vic in what passes for love in Oz’s mind.
I know someone put in the comments, that Oz might kill his mom if Sophia tries to use her. I think so too, plus think about his mom's mindset also, she believes in her son and she would never want to be used against him or be his weakness, she backs him in everything, and she already made him promise, she would want him to do it anyway. Sophia doesn't know she dying.
she is not dying. she is losing her mind. that's why she said she doesn't want to end up as a drooling old lady who cant wipe her own ass. She wants Oz to end her if her mind was truly gone. thats why if oz ends up making a choice and kills her, it will be a hard choice for oz no matter whatt. because he will not have known if her mental condition would get worse in a month, or in years. thats why its different than her ''dying''. if she was dying anyways, that choice would be much easier.
Nah your editor is wiilld bro 😂😂😂, the random "they don't even know your fuckin naaaaames" soundbites he was sprinkling throughout the reaction was taking me tf out
Bruh I feel like Sofia will try to use oz’s mom against him, and he’ll pull a walder Frey and just kill his mom him self. Her asking him to kill her before she gets too bad seemed a little like foreshadowing.
I really like the contrast between Oz and Sofia in their goals as kingpins and how their philosophies are molded by their experiences. Oz was a broke cripple who lost his family young and was desperately vying for the love and attention of his mother (who fed his darker ambitions). Sofia was a privileged heir to a significant crime family but then it all came down in one day and she was betrayed by almost her entire family and then systematically tortured for 10 whole years. Oz is a shifty liar and swindler but at his core is someone who wants to take care of others and provide for ‘his’ people, which he views as the ultimate form of power and respect. Sofia on the other hand has been changed from her time in Arkham to a complete unrepentant revenant, clawing back the control so fiercely taken from her but also losing her previous kindness and love. I’m still undecided on who to root for and that’s truly the beauty of the show.
Man, I couldn't quite put my finger on exactly where the dichotomy Between the two main faction heads was illustrated, I just knew was there. You laid that out perfectly, and 100% agree. This show has my allegiances on a freaking metrinome, lol
This is not true at all lol, she very was given a choice that parallels Oz's first scene with Al, and she chooses not to kill. I'm not saying Oz doesn't care for anyone, he obviously does, but I think he's ultimately far more selfish and prideful.
@schmuck.on.wheels exactly...Sofia still has humanity as evidenced when it came to letting Oz's gf live. She could see that she was another woman who had been lied to/mislead by OZ and took mercy on her because she proved she's a loyal person...something sofia has desperately been void of in her life.
Something I noticed. In the scene where Vic kills Squid, Vic starts off with a bit of a stutter, but after Squid mentions Oz and his mom (when Vic probably made the decision to shoot him), Vic never stutters again throughout the scene. Even when he's breaking down after killing Squid, he only repeats "I'm sorry," which isn't a stutter.
Deirdre O'Connell as Francis Cobb deserves a goddamn Emmy for this episode alone. Her scene in the bathroom with Oz made me cry so hard I needed to pause the episode and take a minute. My mom was diagnosed with stage 3A breast cancer when I was 14. We had no other family members to look out for us, it was just me and my mom lifting each other up when we needed to lean on someone for strength. She fought it for 10 years. She passed away 9 years ago from cancer complications, peacefully in her sleep. Towards the end of her life she was suffering in a very similar way to Francis, becoming so weak from the treatment and from old age that she needed help to get up if she fell down. But we were always there for each other. So I know exactly how Oz felt when his mom said she didn’t want to suffer anymore.
Sofia and Oz are so damn charismatic. Great to see back to back speeches from them both. Oz, especially getting these guys to agree to work together when all he does is betray people is wild! Even the drug theyre going to sell is gained by betrayal, yet they're gonna work with him! "They dont even know your fcking naaaaame"

I have absolutely no problems with Eve selling out Penguin. Her girls are her family, including the ones Carmine murdered. The fact that Oz knew and kept working for Carmine is a true betrayal for Eve. So this is just karma.

Surprisingly no, while some say go with the delusion in order to not try and spend time breaking the delusion, the problem is when the person becomes lucid, then they may distrust you for saying as example, "Yes, it is 1980s and yes your son is still alive." So when they become lucid they will know you as a liar and not trustworthy.

I’m not sure, but at the end, I read Sofia’s expression as shock, like she couldn’t actually go through with beating an old woman crippled woman to death. She’s shown sympathy before, and I think she will again, or maybe she’ll put Oz in a position where he has to choose between them. But honestly, I don’t see that happening. I think Sofia is the secret hero of the show, and I think she’ll show compassion in the end towards Oz's mom. Meanwhile, Penguin will not do the same for Sofia, which might make us hate him for good.
I can’t wait for the next episode! Oz mom is a G she already told her son to take her out because of her condition. She encourages him to take over. Idk I just hope nothing happens to her or Vic. Thank god she didn’t bring Sal with her.
While all this craziness is happening I'm wondering what Batman is doing/ thinking during all this. He doesn't have to be in this series, like he probably isn't going to pop up for a quick appearance, but would be cool to hear some stuff in the background of characters being like, "yeah the Cops/ Maronis/ Gigante/ rival gang, didn't bust our operation last night, it was that caped vigilante," or something like that. Have Oz say something in response or acknowledge that he could have another reunion with Batman.
What I can't understand is that after sending his daughter to Arkham, the murders are stopped! Yet it's not Sophia the hanged killer! Yes we saw marks on Carmine's hands in the flashback but they are memories of a child so may not be credible!! I think they're going to make us a crazy plot twist, the penguin's mother will be the hangman!! Notice the scenes!! The scenes of Sophia and Oz's mother are always side by side! Carmine would have changed his mode of operation after sending Sophia to the asylum?? I think they are playing on the trauma of Sophia's mother's death to drive her crazy!! A plot of the mother and the penguin ;) Sophia thinks her father is the killer and Carmine thinks it's Sophia and the penguin wins the -44 and the iceberg lounge
I’m wondering if this could happen in the end (this is my thought on if Sofia lives and relocates. Just a thought). Sofia doesn’t off Oz’s mom but Sal has no problems doing so cause he is a full on bad guy and he lost his family to Oz. Sofia still has a conscience after she let Carla’s daughter and Eve live. Especially Eve since she knew Oz offed Alberto but soared her cause Oz had been lying to her knowing Sofia was innocent and her dad was The Hangman. Victor is offed in the process of a shootout and Oz’s mom’s mind switches again and she thinks Vic is one of her 2 deceased sons and blames Oz which triggers him to off her himself and give her what she wanted (to be sent off to the afterlife). And that makes Oz become truly bad with no good heart anymore. Sofia decides to give Oz what he wants: the kingpin of Gotham (Sal I think he bites the dust). And she does by letting it be known Penguin offed the entire Maroni family and frames him for The Falcone Family. And Oz is mad at first that he’s set up but he sees it as his ticket. He took out the Falcone family AND the Maroni family meaning he is not to be messed with. He is looked at by the criminal world as that guy and either fear him or admire him. And Oz now fully embracing his Penguin name does one Frank good thing. Maybe confesses that Carmine is the real Hangman OR says it was him. One last good thing and an apology to Sofia for framing her. But he sends a message that she must leave Gotham since now he is looked as the ONE, the kingpin of Gotham City. And Sofia maybe relocates to Bludhaven leading to a future project featuring her and her half sister Selena meeting
Now in case y’all ask why would Penguin say he is The Hangman. He could say he did it to move up in the world and framed Sofia for it and in doing so got closer to Carmine who gifted him with trinkets and the club and drops business
The scene work in this show is next level. Seriously thought I was about to shit myself during the scene between Sofia and Eve. Just incredible work all around from every member of the cast. Career defining performances for everyone in this show besides maybe Clancy and Shoreh.

THEY TRRKRR JRRR!
Dude If he kills them all then him, Vic and maybe 3 other henchmen are gonna go againts Maroni and Gigante alone.
I’m curious to see if Rex is Oz father. The mother mentioned something about the him this episode

The scene work in this show is next level. Seriously thought I was about to shit myself during the scene between Sofia and Eve. Just incredible work all around from every member of the cast. Career defining performances for everyone in this show besides maybe Clancy and Shoreh.
Roshi.. what hoodie is that?😫🔥
Oz lost two brothers who were close to him, he just still has his mom
The thumbnail just looks like someone farted
Lupa the only one smiling 😂😂😂
“I love how well they’re conveying suspense in this show nothing could possibly be scarier”
