As an ex CO in both the U.K. and New Zealand all I can say is well done mate. You’ve been given a second chance and you’ve turned your life around. Spread this message to the kids and hopefully they can learn from your miserables. Well done.

Freedom! I’m a retired CO from a Salinas Valley and Donovan. I think this was was of your best videos speaking about the youth and the immaturity and the life that you forfeited but the victims as well. Well done Dubs!

I spent 37 years in prison and i'm 28. It was so difficult. The food in prison was gruel sandwiches, gruel omelets, and nothing but gruel. The worst thing about prison was the Dementors.

I needed to hear this. I've only done a whole year, but this talk really helped reminding me that all the little things that piss us off are nothing vs not having freedom. You're a great story teller man.

Wow! I'm not sure how I stumbled onto your video but I could not stop listening to you. You are a great speaker and very inspiring and someone who draws people in. You really should use your gift the God granted you with and speak to schools and people who can be inspired like I just was. God makes everything happen for a reason. Perhaps your time in prison was you sacrificing all those years of your life to help others and prevent others from going down the wrong road. God Bless my friend and I subscribed and can't wait to watch all your videos.

    FREEDOM!!!
When we're young we take advantage of it, I have and paid for it. I'll never risk that ever again. When I start to road rage I think about my youth group and how disappointed it would be to hear that I landed back in prison, and I thank God every day for giving me those kids. They don't even know how much they've kept me going and kept me out of jail.
I know we don't know each other personally, but I am proud of you Dubs. You've overcame a lot, and became an inspiration for so many. God bless you brother.

I almost got sent to CYA myself in the early 90’s Santa Cruz Country. Instead I went to a group home.
I realized I didn’t want to live life as a criminal and go to prison. Turned mylife around ended working as staff at the Juvy I had been locked up in. I attribute my freedom to my prayers being answered.
Awesome to here your story. Thank you for sharing, Im sure it will help others. God bless you and yours.

I can’t imagine the shock on how the world had changed in that time. I did time in the UK and I got put in an open prison for my last year. I got one home visit a month and one town visit a month. So I was eased out back into society. I also did a plumbing course there and the prison got my plumbing job for me when I got out and I’ve never looked back and I’m earning a good living now. This is where the American prison system is way behind us in Europe. Your justice department don’t seem to realise you guys will get out at some point and don’t seem to work on you at all.

Thanks for the video homie. I watched the whole thing and the part that I liked is when u talked about the complainers. I am one of those complainers, I am blessed in so many ways but the voice in my head does nothing but complain about everything. When u said that it woke me up a bit from that. Hopefully it lasts lol. Freedom!

Unbelievable comment, who are you to judge??? We all make mistakes and do wrong, just some are more than others so you shouldn’t say anything about this man,,,,,,😊😊😊

I’m a retired CA LEO and served combat tours. Your comment is unacceptable. This man like all of us have made mistakes. I highly respect Dubs for what he’s doing for the younger generation to keep them out of trouble with his experience. You’re judging a man and have never been in his shoes.

I am a 70 year old woman who has only had one or two traffic tickets.
I was fortunate to be born into a family who loved me and taught me good values and respect for others.
I grew up in a middle class , suburban neighborhood in Tennessee where there were no gangs.
I do believe that one’s situation while growing up determines your future.
I wish you all the best. This was your life’s path of growth. May you be blessed

Freedom! I spent just a little time in a regular jail and I know what you mean. You should be so proud of yourself and the change you made in yourself. The fact you did those things for others shows you have a good head and a good heart. God bless you.

Hey Dubs. I don't know who you are, and I don't care what you've done. You've paid your debt to society. What really matters here is your courage to pay the bill, you survived, and now you're passing out your experience in an outstanding speech in a way that can be an inspiration to others. You're a winner. For the life you took, there's nothing else you can do now. It's done and can't be undone. Let it go. You're a new man. Apparently a good one. Keep it up. Greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹.
