    I used cream of coconut instead of coconut milk and sugar.
    Obviously I used fresh pineapple, not canned.
    Delicious!!!

      Wonderful! The coconut milk I used does have the cream as well as the thinner liquid.

    Can you help us with making at home frapps using Xanthan gum? We want that rich icy texture. Mixing ice, milk and coffee isn’t working out. We typically use almond milk and shots of espresso.

    I haven’t tried all the different pina collada mixes to have an educated view. I’ve tried a few that were awful and expensive, making them awful expensive. But one of the cheapest and best was V8 Tropical Smoothie. It’s not even listed as a pina collada. Unfortunately, I don’t know if they still make it. It’s only listed available from a single grocery chain out of Chicago. I wonder if they just didn’t update their site that it’s no longer available. But if V8 restocks this wonderful concoction nationally this summer, buy it. Stock up on it. Great stuff!

    So funny!!! ok a few friends of my wife and I are having a little get together by there pool this weekend and my wife said i'm in charge of the Pina Coladas (no lie!!!) We do not have the Ninja Hot and cold blender but we have the older Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 watt blender (no auto IQ) So I will be making these!! Thank you so much!! (maybe a cup and a half of rum ;-) OH we will be staying over in there spare bedroom LOL We will be using canned pineapple but the can says "No sugar Added" should I use the sugar in your recipe?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому +1

      That sounds like a plan! I'd use part coconut rum and part regular rum for a nice kick! As far as the sugar goes, I think that's a personal preference. Canned pineapple tends to be sweeter even with no sugar added, so I might hold off on that. Also, either drain the pineapple some or use more ice to make up for the liquid. Most of all, have fun! Cheers!

    :O YOu can FREEZE Coconut Milk?? I have a can I've been holding onto forever because I didn't want to waste the whole can for a small amount needed for a recipe.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 роки тому

      Yes, you can freeze it! I do it all the time. Make sure that you mix it well when you aren't using the whole can because the coconut fat separates from the water and you want it to be well mixed so you aren't just freezing the water or just the fat.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, mine was from a can. I do specifically state that in the recipe so people don't end up with a thin piña colada.

    • @missoobydo
      @missoobydo 4 роки тому +1

      The Salted Pepper lol the reason for my comment is because I’m a people that would find the carton and think “she must of meant carton not a can” 😂 in the keto world it’s a mix up that happens a lot... wasn’t trying to poopoo on your page.. love you, you salty pepper you! hugz
