Im an Owner of the "B+W 604 S3" since 2003.. up Today.... im most Love it.... in everykind of Music/Cinematics/Gaming!!! So much "Thank You" to Bower's and Wilkins Industries!! 🎼🤷🏼♂️🤝🤝🙂🥰
What a dream of a speaker! Had a chance to listen to the 800 D3 last week and haven‘t thought of anything else since. A few years ago I never thought I'd spend five figures on a pair of speakers, but now I'm super excited to snag an 800 D3 at a last call price. This is heaven. 😇
I really get a kick out of doing speaker customer repairs in Owings Mill, MD on B&W speakers and seeing what their different speaker models are actually made of. Good job folks!!!
Hi there, all 800 series speakers are manufactured and hand assemble exclusively in our UK manufacturing plant in West Sussex. What speakers do you own? If 600 or 700 series, due to the numbers produced, it makes more sense to manufacture in our own factory in China, that skilled Bowers & Wilkins employees can produce in the volumes required to meet current demand.
So how come the Chinese can make your speakers in large numbers bur the UK can only make a few posh ones? I'm sure you make most of your money from the Chinese mass produced stuff so why not give us a tour of that factory? I wouldn't buy any of your Chinese stuff. It's clear you are not botherd by all that mass produced crap so neither I'm I.
It is real crap QC from china .I just purchased the formation duo .The white paint and finished was so bad.Opened the box comes with scratches .Not perfect. Not worth 4k!!
So far it has not been possible to say a big thank you for the perfect product and excellent service. After many years, I felt like a costumer, which is important for a producer. Amazing designs and excellent quality. Thank you for your work!
Still a proud owner of circa 1997 Matrix 805s. Factory response curves show +/- 1.75dB linearity. The 805 remains as one of most accurate speakers ever made. They are truth-tellers.
Cool tour; I have had 802D for 20 years and before that 805; beautiful speakers that sound great and meet the esthetic to integrate into a living space.
I am a satisfied owner of a pair of 603-series speakers since way back, and now I have ordered a pair of 805 D4 in Walnut. I am really looking forward to enjoy them in my home. I placed my order in September, and the delivery date has been moved forward a number of times. Last update is that I will get them late Februay, five months after my order. I haven't longed for anything like I am for these speakers, so it is almost painful not knowing when I will get them. It would be good to know why it takes so long, and why the delivery date keeps pushing with about 4 weeks each time. It seems to be an epic product you have put together.
Awesome video! I never forget listening to a pair of DM70 electrostatic speakers in a high-end audio shop: still regard these as one of the very best sounding speakers I've heard! And with lovely curves, just like the new models in this video.
Hi Bowers Wilkins, we would very much enjoy a video about the matching of the wood veneers. How it's applied to the cabinets, and how the wood grain matching of the right and left speakers are done. Thank you very much for this in depth video! A soon to be owner of the 803D4 Walnut :-)
I have the 804 D4s and might have gotten the D3s but my space is a bit small for those. I was allowed to take home the store demo D3s for tryout and was impressed by their performance. To be clear; these were previous editions of those speakers.
Mi experiencia con B&W es más que satisfactoria. Es una experiencia auditiva espectacular en conjunto con un visual muy atractivo. Ojalá pudiera algún día permitirme adquirir unas principales de la serie 800. Me tienen ♥️. Enhorabuena por desarrollar un trabajo tan bien hecho.
Hi Samrat, all 800 series, CT series and the iconic Nautilus speakers are all manufactured and hand assembled in our UK factory in Worthing, West Sussex.
Hi Julian, unfortunately the recent and still ongoing global pandemic is having an effect on spares availability at present. This is partially due to disruption to manufacture as well as the impacts on global logistics. However we are still manufacturing and supplying spares for previous 800 series going back some 15 years or more, it's just we can't supply all the spares at the same time. We have to be careful when allocating available manufacturing time to meet both demand for new products as well as producing spares for discontinued speakers. Hopefully as things start to return back to normal we will be able to return to pre-Covid levels of supply.
Hello, We manufacture loudspeakers in a wide variety of price ranges, including models built for those who want speakers made without compromise. Feel free to have a listen when you are near a dealer. It's a memorable experience.
Hi Mathias, unfortunately the global pandemic has had a huge impact on both production as well as Global shipping and logistics over the last eighteen months. This has resulted in unforeseen delays with both producing stock and getting it distributed to some regions. We do apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience. As things slowly improve, we hope to be able to return to pre-Covid levels of supply.
Love your attention to detail! Well, to be honest, I dont have one of these beautiful B&W speaker sets but I do have pretty decent (still consumer product) Yamaha speakers, in piano black finish... and the biggest problem is, they become light scratched pretty fast. So I am wondering, is there any good tip how to fix it? Polishing? Yes, but what compund to use that wont be to agressive for the lacquer?
I'm still happily listening to my DM610i's that I have had for many years...not the work of art of the present speakers but they sound very nice still !
I'm a life long B&W fan. But, I worry that if I upgraded my 802N I'd have diamond tweeters that would break for no reason and Continuum cones that go mouldy. Reports of difficulty buying spares also worries me. As a consumer of your products I'd rather see products having a very long lifespan like the Nautilus, and know that spares and service were readily available. Be careful not to destroy the brand.
The guys name is Bubba, with a coffee in one hand and a donut in the other sitting on a chair at the end of the line prior to boxing saying, ah yeah, that's good enough!
i restored a pair of v201 made in england, consecutive serial #937303/4. they were used outside in the sonoran desert, proper bad shape as one could imagine. the surround rubber is still in great shape miraculously... 'm not into small speakers but i really enjoy these bad boys :}
Do i see a plastic cover in 8:39 min? I'm slightly shocked. But not as much as by the quality of my pair of 702 S2 that makes the house shake on demand. Great product(s), great video!
Hi Alan, The decision was made to move production to China for the 600 and 700 Series speakers when we had crafted a means to produce added value without compromise.
Great loudspeakers, but the prices are very high. At the end the US based Charlesbank Capital Partners are the owners of B&W and they want return on investment.
Hi there, B&W produce speakers that range in price from £499 per pair for our 607 s2's up to our iconic Nautilus speakers at £57,750 a pair. When compared to other speaker companies that produce similar specification speakers, our 800 series are on a par with the competition. There are plenty of speakers on the market that are over £100,000 and should you wish to you could spent £700,000+ on a pair of speakers. Hopefully with our wide range of products there will be a B&W model that suits your audio needs and budget.
My dream speaker the 802 series. I listened to these in the 80s and it set a bench mark to my ears. From then on I would always make a comparison of any speaker to the 802 which wasn’t correct to do. I went to buy the 600 anniversary series and I was almost in tears. This sounded like a cheap Chinese product. Ofcourse the salesman displaying the product was absolutely unqualified for a BnW showroom in a big city in india. It took me 15 secs to realise the 600 annv series was not my buy.
The "worlds best"? Love the fact they're not made in a factory in China somewhere and the qualiy of the premium pairs but pehaps there's a good few other makes that might justifiably qualify or claim tho be the world's best.

Amazing construction / quality..had my DM 602.5 S3 for years now and still love them. Cheers!

I have had my B&W 803 since 1990 ! And i enjoy them everyday ! The best !
Nice to see the Birthplace of the the Speakers which entertained me for the last 10 years 🤩
Very cool factory tour, B&W!
I've got 2 pairs of Bowers&Wilkins speakers and I love them 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

This is so cool. What a brilliant insight into the speakers.
What a huge and complicated factory process for home theatre speakers
So far it has not been possible to say a big thank you for the perfect product and excellent service. After many years, I felt like a costumer, which is important for a producer. Amazing designs and excellent quality.
Thank you for your work!
Thank you, Bowers & Wilkins
Thanks so much for making this available. Quite a fascinating process!
Hi Brian,
Great to hear it. Thank you for your feedback.
Still a proud owner of circa 1997 Matrix 805s. Factory response curves show +/- 1.75dB linearity. The 805 remains as one of most accurate speakers ever made. They are truth-tellers.
Good to see a British company successfully grow and evolve with modern manufacturing technology.
Only the 800 series is still made in England. The rest are put together in China.
@@georgieboy2432 As are most things making us ultra dependent on China for low prices. Quite why their prices should be so low now?
WOW, this is very cool! I am really impressed by your product assembly. Expensive, but worth it.
Gotta go play the lottery. These are on my bucket list.

I've enjoyed my Matrix 804s for the past 24 years. It was interesting seeing the manufacturing process of the Diamond series.

Top end manufacturing process, great job B&W !!
my B&W DM 302, CC3 (center) and ASW1000 bought back 1999 still sounds great.
Really amazing. I see a pair of D4''s in my future!

Hi B&W, can you make a video tour of your Chinese factory please?
I'd wanna live with 803d4!
The speaker is cheaper than the painting process cost ✌🏻
Hello,
It sounds as though you are treating your DM602 S2s well.
Thank you for your feedback.
amazing !!
.... I'd wanna work there =) That looks like a properly run factory compared to what I've seen before.
You can bet the wages don't reflect how high quality the product is though.... It's always the same

Wish i could afford one of these masterpieces
Hello bharat,
Our state of the art facility in China is able to produce our loudspeakers to the same high standards we have been enjoying for decades.

What about the Chinese factory where everything else is made? We would love to see a tour of that factory.
Good!
I still have my Series 1 DM 603's and love them, but I'd love a pair of 801 D4
Still got my DM602 S2 and will probably keep them for another 15-20yrs. They replaced my S1 which got blown up by a friends malfunctioning amplifier.
And i will say truly a 10 out of 10 in condition even have the boxs!! My wife still complains about them !

Says take wedding rings and jewellery off to avoid scratching... 8:11, guy wears wedding ring... But overall, great products
That guy needs a reprimand, or stronger.
Good catch!
Have you heard of "marketing" They could sell you a piece of coal as eco friendly.
Which are the models currently are getting manufactured in United Kingdom ?
Hi Gazza,
I gather it's called Ilhabela, by Andriy Mashtalir.
1: 53, I love the hundreds of thousands of pounds of tooling alongside a cheap battery timer!
There was a wedfing ring in the end on worker
Bowers & Wilkins.....What is the last sound track playing in the background .... llhabela Andriy Mashtalir ???
Would love to see some of the QC that's used or the end of line inspection.

The quality of contact needs to be consistent, regardless of who might be doing the connecting/disconnecting.

No that's not plastic, it's the cast alloy top you're looking at, before the leather goes on

Extensive listening tests are carried-out.
Hi Alan,

Speak the truth, cheap quality & cheap labor here we come.
Seeing you mentioning several 20min procesing times at bottlenecks makes us aware of production number limits.
Interesting.
i want to built something like this...
What's the cost of each one ?
Супер! Хочу на таком заводе работать!👍🤔🙂
Love you the 800 series and your products, but in Israel the speakers are only a dream for me, highly expensive, so I will continue to dream......
Anyone here owned a P7/P7 Wireless?
1:53 that cheap Dollar Store timer though =D
I was expecting the making of speaker drivers.
8:11 there's a ring..... : )
Take home message for me: palm trees grow in front of the B&W factory in south England!
Interesting but we've seen it before. I want to see the Chinese factory tour.
Enjoy the vid, but you completed the entire speaker cabinet twice.

Now compare this to the amount of process steps and materials needed to build a car and think how much these speakers should cost 🤔
I see a lot of B & W speakers that are made in China. Why?
i googled it to see what it would cost..thought it would be a few thousand...its $15000 USD ....each
