what is the main purpose of using earphones or headphones, I think that is, we don't want to be disturbed by anyone and want to hear the real sound and feel emotion from the sound. KSE1500? It's much expensive for the boosting amplifier. Sennheiser ? It can be, maybe. But I recommend this device, that is " ua-cam.com/video/AxylX0pbfMc/v-deo.html " It can be the final solution for the Hi-Resolution .
These kind of videos are literally the best advertisement a company can have to the consumer who is interested in more than just how a product looks. I will definitely look into sennheizer when buying my next pair of headphones. The tour could have been better and more informative but it was still an enjoyable video.
Spektrik Me too! I forgot the first ones that I had though, I think it was the HD 2XX (not sure of the number hence the XX part). The second one was the HD558 and the one I'm currently using is the PC 363D. Plan on keeping these for a long time.
I guess I kinda wish they showed more of the manufacturing process of their other headphones. The HD800 sound impressive, but I am not going to spend over a 1000$ for a pair of headphones especially when my ath-m50 are amazing for me for 130$. So now that I think of it this was kind of a pointless video for me in terms of seeing the manufacturing process of items I am going to buy.
To paraphrase the interview: "We always built good headphones with a good frequency response, but actually people want shit headphones with too much bass, so that's what we're doing now"
I’d say that is a narrow view. They want to stay relevant and also make money. It can’t be only about top of the range units which many simply can’t afford or don’t want to spend that much but want something much better than the fashion headphones we see everyday. I have the Momentum unit and find them very pleasing. They were more expensive than any of my previous units and I feel they are a step up.
I guess with most people using headphones in vastly different setting (mp3 source, cell phone as a player) than in the 70s, 80s and 90s, there is not much need for audiophile headphones anymore; that being said, sennheiser has among other, also produced shitty products for decades addressing price-concious people. In fact I knew a guy who used to work at their german factory (I dont recall if they were making the headphones or if they were just receiving and distributing there) and he told me when the packaging was damaged they would throw the whole box, including the headphones away, rather than going through the hoops of somehow repackaging or offering it at a reduced price as B-stock. And that's about 10-15 years ago. It's not like they woke up a year ago and noticed they need to make cheap shit that isnt worth repackaging, they have done that for a long time.
I love how they found a polite way of saying that the Urbanite and Momentum were made for the tone-deaf Beats-wearing public. I'm just kidding. I understood that Sennheiser cannot afford to have their brand forgotten by the new generation and that those base-heavy headphones were a way to promote the brand to non-audiophiles.
I've owned an Urbanite XL back when it was relatively new, and I can say it wasn't that bass-heavy at all. It had just the right amount of bass to make it great for electronic music, but the authentic Sennheiser sound was still there. It taught me that bass amount isn't what makes music sound good, but rather a good balance in the frequency response. I was convinced of their brand thanks to the Urbanite XL, and now I've owned an HD 660 S for over half a year already, which I can comfortably call my personal endgame in headphones for home listening. So overall, I'd happily say that Sennheiser has succeeded in trying to accomplish what they set out to do. They showed me what authentic/pure sound is about, and why so much in todays headphones market does not qualify as authentic/pure. Btw, I understand you were just joking, but thought I'd share this anyways since I'd say I'm living proof that they've been succesful in what they set out to do with the Urbanite and Momentum lines. Not argueing, just confirming :)
I’ve used the Momentum headphones for six months and I’m very pleased. They have what I’d say is a balanced sound with an edge toward bass, which I was looking for. I’ve owed sennheisers several times before and always found them of a high quality in build and sound delivery.

I was honestly disappointed with my Amperior when I first got it. Basically, the plastic parts look so cheap and even has rough edges and molten marks. It looked like they just recycled the HD-25 parts, put some aluminum cups and buttons, then slap it with a $350 price tag.
@@kaiky1807 To be more precise, they bought the consumer electronics segment from Sennheiser. Sennheiser will continue to produce professional audio equipment and business solutions. Sonova bought the consumer headphone segment under the condition that they keep the brand name "Sennheiser" and keep producing the headphones in the same location by the same people. There is just a new management on top of it which may or may not decide to take the brand into a different direction in the future.
I would ABSOLUTELY love to see more videos like these. I'm sure they are harder to produce, but this is the kind of thing that turns me into a life-time customer; when a company invites people to see their process and is open about their business models. Makes me glad to have watched this with Sennheiser on right now XD
im surprised that they are not big in american, in the EU they are basically known as the no.1 audio high quality brand. Interesting to hear them say in the video that in the US they are not well known. but if stuff like this is their marketing strategy i don't think that state of affairs will last for long.
Great tour. Thanks guys. The first headphones I used were the 414's back in the 60's when I started out in radio in South Africa. I have loved and treasured Sennheisers ever since.
Meanwhile at Beats audio factory : -hey boss what are we doing today ? -we're taking this piece of plastic and we're making crappy headphones out of it and people will buy this because we're Beats Audio !
This is awesome! I actually "ran into" the head of the advertising campaign for the Sennheiser urbanite in NYC and got to chat with him about the whole philosophy behind the Urbanite. He actually took me to the pop up shop and I got to go in the back and listen to all the models and got a lesson on audio and lifestyle advertising :D Cool Stuff!
One of the best LTT vids so far. You asked if your viewers wanted to see more 'behind-the-scenes' stuff? That's an emphatic 'YES' from me. I also enjoyed your Cherry factory visit. More please!
sennhiser is also probably the only company to make a gaming headset with both good audio and good mic (im not joking one of the mics on one of the cheaper headsets have had people say it sounded better than a (earlier model) blue yeti
You can tell Sennheiser had a lot of input in producing this video, aside from the obvious. No background music, sound effects or ad libs whatsoever. It's one of the most German videos I've ever seen.
Galaxy Note 4 standard speakers.... I could do better..... but I've never listened to anything like this. the best I have heard is Astro A40s. I have them.
I rediscovered all the songs that I once knew when I bought my first Sennheiser. The sound was so pure that I had to hear all the songs that once I thought I knew.
This may sound weird, but I was used to crappy over-ear headsets for like 20-30 bucks. The first time I had Sennheiser headphones on and pressed play, I immediately scrambled to hit the stop button thinking I had forgotten to turn my speakers off at the amp. The soundstage was so completely different to the crappy headsets it fooled my brain and completely wowed me. The kicker? Those Sennheisers were the shittiest, cheapest ones you could buy, HD 201 ... needless to say I upgraded quite a few steps since then, but I'll never forget that moment.
@@Knaeckebrotsaege Hahahahaha! Amazing that we both have had the same experience. It's an unforgettable sensation. Bands that I heard for 15 years being listened to for the first time. Anyone else get this in their recommended because of the selling of sennhieser? So sad to see this company go, one of the few company's that built to last, not built to break.
MAN!!!! What a great experience it must have been. I have been selling and listening Sennheiser headphones for over 10 years now and they are the only one for me!! That was an amazing video! Good job guys!
I have had my hd800 now for 8 years, I bought them from another guy, that originally purchased them in 2012. They are as perfect and beautiful as the day i got them, now with a new dac/amp and with software (soundid reference) to take the treble peak down a notch. Thank you Sennheiser!
The fact that Sennheiser hand-picks individuals based in their previous experiences with attention to detail just blows my mind. Currently using HD428S headphones, and I have no complaints.
Stax ...? I just discovered vintage Stax, and they've made audio come alive for me in a way I hadn't experienced with dynamic driver headphones. But no, I agree with the premise here -- I'd be content if I were told I could only listen to Sennheisers for the rest of my life.
@Manoj Kale the common phrase thrown around is "you can hear god with these things" that should be a pretty good indication as to how good they can sound.
@@manojkale4408 The HD 800 S is absolutely fantastic. My favorite headphone yet. I'm running it balanced with a Woo Audio WA22 and Cardas Clear dual XLRs. Many of their products and inventions improved the quality of life of many people. I was honestly disappointed with my Amperior when I first got it. Basically, the plastic parts look so cheap and even has rough edges and molten marks. It looked like they just recycled the HD-25 parts, put some aluminum cups and buttons, then slap it with a $350 price tag.
wonderful company. when my roommate tells me that his beats are better I want to smack him.
Garrett S. just do it
Anson Tan don't let your dreams be dreams
Beats are garbage
beat him. its in the name.
If he is happy with his Beats then let him be. Everyone has their own taste and source of happiness (so to speak).
RIP Sennheiser. You will be missed.
even hyperx was acquired by hp,sad...
What happened
It’s not dead. Just under new management
@@marvin2678 a Swiss company called "Sonova" bought it.
Wow didnt know Sennheiser was this badass! ;)
im surprised that they are not big in american, in the EU they are basically known as the no.1 audio high quality brand. Interesting to hear them say in the video that in the US they are not well known.
but if stuff like this is their marketing strategy i don't think that state of affairs will last for long.
Fezz Because Americans have Beats by Dre lol
ColdNeutron beats by dre are some really shitty headphones
Tristan Hernandez I know. It was supposed to be a joke dumbass.
Tristan Hernandez ColdNeutron FIGHT TO THE DEATH!
Can you do a Beyerdynamic factory tour? Like maybe an inside scoop of their flagship the T1.
Billy Castaneda I was thinking the same, I love their dt770 as well.
Yep and the Beyerdynamic Custom Pro ones are awesome for what they are designed for.
I like the Dt-1990 pro better than the t1, which have a 9khz spike.
www.innerfidelity.com/images/BeyerdynamicT1.pdf
Great tour. Thanks guys. The first headphones I used were the 414's back in the 60's when I started out in radio in South Africa. I have loved and treasured Sennheisers ever since.
Awesome! You dudes are the luckiest!!! Sennheiser is one of my most favourite companies on the planet! Thank you guys for taking us along!
these factory tours are awesome, try into to nvidia, evga, intel, or amd!! that would be really cool
Yeah an Intel tour would be cool!
randomname Nvidia cooler :p
Floris Rossel What about it?
yes! more tours, love it. Also more costumes, no lederhosen this time?
randomname A huge room with people in white robs moving silicon toasts
Meanwhile at Beats audio factory :
-hey boss what are we doing today ?
-we're taking this piece of plastic and we're making crappy headphones out of it and people will buy this because we're Beats Audio !
only thing wrong with this is that it's not in chinese
xX69julesXx every headset is a piece of plastic.
Godd Howard except the ones that are metal
Twixieshores which are not common
Godd Howard they arent. But you said *every*, not *most*.
can you upload the video in which the professor tells you about how audio drivers work
This is awesome! I actually "ran into" the head of the advertising campaign for the Sennheiser urbanite in NYC and got to chat with him about the whole philosophy behind the Urbanite. He actually took me to the pop up shop and I got to go in the back and listen to all the models and got a lesson on audio and lifestyle advertising :D
Cool Stuff!
One of the best LTT vids so far. You asked if your viewers wanted to see more 'behind-the-scenes' stuff? That's an emphatic 'YES' from me. I also enjoyed your Cherry factory visit. More please!
I can't stop buying Sennheiser products, they're so freaking good!
Their CX True Wireless earbuds are S-tier, truly.
sennhiser is also probably the only company to make a gaming headset with both good audio and good mic (im not joking one of the mics on one of the cheaper headsets have had people say it sounded better than a (earlier model) blue yeti
And that's why I have a separate headphones and mic
try beyerdynamic, another German brand
MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE!!!!
This and Cherry's were very awsome!
Where to go to next? NZXT,Razer,CoolerMaster?
And logitech:D
oh yeah he should totally do razer headphones :P
Nah but actually I'd love to see some Razer Blade 14 in production that'd be great :D
DaMagicalManiac I dont mean headphones... senheiser are better.. just gaming gear in general not a specific product
Maybe Corsair or Asus?
I don't think they would make a factory tour in china, so don't expect razor
You can tell Sennheiser had a lot of input in producing this video, aside from the obvious. No background music, sound effects or ad libs whatsoever. It's one of the most German videos I've ever seen.
I listened to this video using Sennheiser headphones!
$10 headset :D
+Teemo4Life dollar store headphones!
+NCRranger24 - Gaming and More! no headphones at all
+Peter Smyth same here
Galaxy Note 4 standard speakers....
For me it was like seeing for the first time a coloured painting that I was seeing in black and white. I either won't ever forget the feeling
You guys are so damn lucky! It must have been great meeting with the guy that designed HD800! I've got a pair of HD600 combined with a Asus Xonar Essence STX, and that is just amazing! Really crisp and clear sound. Once again, fantastic video, keep em' coming!
Keep up the top notch content gents! You're the only tech channel I've remained subscribed to longer than a month.
Watching a 5 year old video about the Sennheiser factory on my dad's 40 year old Sennheiser HD40 headphones.
Sennheiser is simply, the best.
Most informative episode of How it's Made, EVER!!
*hehe
Hell yeah!!! The second factory tour!
Listening this video in my lovely HD800s makes it a very special expirience.
Nice factory-tour, thanx!
And YES, more inside-reports like this, please!
It's actually spelled "Hannover"
*Hangover
Well its actually spelled Wennebostel ;) I'm living 1 km away from the factory.
No you can't. It is a town name so respect it. It is spelled with a double "n". Hannover
Hanover is the english way, like munich instead of münchen^^
***** Wait, Bayern is Bavaria in English? My life is a lie!
Planned obsolescence is real, and Sennheiser didn't do it... and they're gone.
1:47 Linus is trying hard to blur the label on that glue gun. I wonder why?
"I want one."
Eight years later, Linus is building his own anechoic chamber. :D
I love the factory tour vids! More of them would be much appreciated and they are quite interesting.
I wanna see more LTT Factory tours
Love my Sennheiser momentums
Sad that they had to close so soon :(
I have had my hd800 now for 8 years, I bought them from another guy, that originally purchased them in 2012. They are as perfect and beautiful as the day i got them, now with a new dac/amp and with software (soundid reference) to take the treble peak down a notch. Thank you Sennheiser!
This is one of my favorite videos. I like this a lot.
So sad to see it sold. I’m crying.
If I ever have to end up working in a factory, this would seem like a great place.
Is this bugged to 360p again? Or am I just to early?
early
The moto 360 was not intentionally rendered to be in 360p only, Linus said UA-cam fucked it up.
I guess youtube can't handle the awesomeness of LinusTechTips so it's stuck at 360p , UA-cam fix it !!!!
Aditya Tech There's usually 240p and 480p as well. I think it may be bugged as well.
480p here we go...
Amazing. This is one of the things you don’t expect to see in Europe anymore. Thank you!
The fact that Sennheiser hand-picks individuals based in their previous experiences with attention to detail just blows my mind. Currently using HD428S headphones, and I have no complaints.
Only Sennheiser for me for the rest of my life. That good. Even if they stopped innovating, no-one could beat the HD600 and 800.
Stax ...? I just discovered vintage Stax, and they've made audio come alive for me in a way I hadn't experienced with dynamic driver headphones.
But no, I agree with the premise here -- I'd be content if I were told I could only listen to Sennheisers for the rest of my life.
listening to this on my hd 800 S :)
ofc
so am i :D
Iam curious to know how that flagship headphones can sound if cheap sennheiser headphones sound quality is way better than others midrange headphones
The stock cable is already pretty good but Cardas Clear takes it to another level. I started with the 580s then went to the 600s, both of which I still have, so I suppose you could say I love the Senn house sound.
The sick guy should probably leave GERMANY, there is was to MANY GERMS there...
Oh and more of these videos please, it was epic!
Sorry for bad pun.. please dont hate me
@@gillo2011 Oh boy, that joke would hit different in 2020 xD
I'm actually from Hannover. Been watching LTT for a while now, but just stumbled upon this video. Thanks for the great video teaching me about my hometown!
I don’t comment very much on vids but I feel like I just wanted to let you guys know that because of this tour and your honest and passionate about tech opinions are now making me re think what headset I’ll pickup when mine dies and take a good look at the sennheiser set ups.
Also, I for one, would like to see more of these types of vids showcasing different sponsor’s products as I value your opinion more vs most others about this stuff and love to see what really goes into making them, especially if I’m about to drop a lot of money on a product.
love these tours...noticed another thing...i thing these "factory tour" videos have lowest dislikes of all LTT videos..
Wait, you guys were in Hannover and did not visit me? o.O
IanDresarie Solche Schweine ! 😂
Ok UA-cam you are cruel recommending this after hearing from Linus that sennheiser sold their headphone division
I definitely liked the tour. I actually purchased Sennheiser ear buds based on your opinions of the company. I look forward to seeing more tours of esteemed companies like this.
factory tours are pretty darn amazing... we complain so much about how my headphones arent good or this that the other are superior, but its amazing how much we've advanced in technology to make such devices. props to sennheiser
Im only half a hour away from Hannover and not "Hanover" ^^
The English name of the city is Hanover with one "n".
***** still, it's not an english name.
*****
standard facepalm moment
***** Okay so I can say to California Kalifornien because its my language ?
We did change it since so many people complained, but "Hanover, Germany" is technically the correct spelling as both names are being presented in English. If we said "Hanover, Deutschland" that would be incorrect.
💓 sennheiser 💓
The best !
+Cookhie. Sshut up
As somebody who has Sennheiser cans, they are so tight they pop your skull like bubble wrap.
+Ixor That doesn't speak for all sennheiser headphones though.
No but something I like to let people know
Beats*
How can someone dislike this?
These guys travelled thousands of miles to give us the insight that no others have managed before and 150+ people treated them with dislikes?
This is why the world will come to an end.
Haters, man. Just it.
What did you expect? The earth is filled with degenerates
Unfortunately, bad people make more noise:/
Wow! I'm a total Sennheiser fanboi and this was an awesome episode from Linus Tech Tips. It's good to spread the news about good sound so more people stop buying gaming headsets ;)
This was so fascinating, and to have a lesson from the HD 800 designer himself! I'd fanboy out so hard. Thank you for bringing us this content, I hope to see more of it in the future. :)
ok youtube, i finally watched this. you happy now?
9:12 The Xbox One (Which is incredibly quiet) was tested for noise levels in a room just like that. I can't remember if Microsoft owns one or they used it. Probably own it. Still I imagine those rooms are really cool to work with.
I've been in one and It's a quite weird feeling. You know how you can hear yourself talking? I faced towards a wall and talked into it and all I could hear was my voice from inside of my head - so to speak. It was weird to say the least.
L3t1337 I heard it was possible to hear your own blood flowing if you listened careful enough. Think that's true?
Those rooms are fucking terrifying.
Yes, you can hear your own blood flowing after ~10-15 minutes.
You'll go insane if you get stuck in one of those rooms for a long period of time.
Calyx no you wouldn't.
***** It is . Because your ears get more and more sensitive depending on surroundings. Maybe its just the personal imagination but still . I believe its true once you stay longer in the room
My 598's just came in the mail. These things scream luxury. I finally understand why people spend hundreds on headphones. I feel like I stole these because the black Friday price I bought them at just doesn't do this thing justice.
Yeah i use these for music production! They are amazing, One thing though, you might wanna boost the bass 50-60 hz with the dolby EQ a tiny bit, the bass is punchy but it's definitely lacking a bit of sub bass. But not too much , by 1 or 2 db. Other than that they are amazeballs
Amazing lighting work on these. Thanks for these visits to our heroes and showing us that they care as much as we do.
Linus 2015: all I know is I want one
Linus 2023: soo, we built this lab... it has one
So all we need to do is make a company, get successful and we can get what we want lol
RIP Sennheiser 😭😭
Anyone else here from the WAN show?
yes daddy
german engeneering :D i am so proud of my country
I need Healing Lucky...
why? are you proud of all the killings they did during ww2
I too appreciate the German engineerering especially with Carl Zeiss and Sennheiser.
GaurangGP Patkar I constantly call it Nazi engineering as a non offensive sock joke XD. And anything Russian made, Communist engineered. French, surrendered engineering.
@@angelcerda2944 Unless you are from New Zealand or Iceland I am sure your countries history has many dark moments too. And what does being proud of a countries products have to do with a countries negative history? I am not German but I give credit to many things the Germans invented and developed. Many of their products and inventions improved the quality of life of many people. The rest of the world has always been relying on countries like the US, Germany, the UK, France, Japan... to come up with all the solutions. Without many of these countries the world would be a lot more underdeveloped and way further behind in almost everything than it is now.
I've been watching Linus Tech Tips for way over 8 years now , and for some reason it just feels uncanny to once again see a younger beardless Linus
5 years later and 4 sennheiser headsets later, i finally see this. Have been a sennheiser fanboi forever. Glad to see that they put so much effort into my favorite headsets and headphones.
15:20 OHH The last right seam is not perfectly in line!! Start again!
Linus, can you review the sound blaster e1/e3/e5 series? It is basicly the smallest sound card available right now.
YES ! Notice him, senpai ! I've been waiting for a good review for these amps for sooooo loooong ! :(
watched this whole tour with my Sennheiser Urbanite XLs :D
I love the urbanites but I went with the HD598
This factory tour and the last have been some of the coolest videos I've seen in a while. And this has to be the best product advertisement available as well. I wasn't too concerned with which headphone brand I would buy next but now I just may have to look into these. :)
Because it said Germany in the title I got a weird German ad for some ereader I'd never heard of. #ThanksObama
(facepalm). It's #Thanksseotoro barry soetoro is his real name. Jesus, doesn't anyone do any real research anymore? This has been public knowledge since even 2 years before his first illegally attempted presidential election run ( Hint, He is a dual citizen which is against the USA's constitution for anyone qualifying to run for president which makes sense because it would be a contradiction of nationality).
Raymond Tyson Seems legit bro.

that face is top cringe m8
Audio technica tour? Please?
chinese factory. they don't really have a flagship out right now. their most popular high end headphone only costs like $300 right now and would not have the same attention to detail as any $1500 headphone. the audio technica factory would be nothing special because they're just cranking out budget headphones,
i think a more interesting tour would be a look into fabrication of CIEM's, and how drivers are placed into each custom shell.
Damn dude audio technica is japanese.
Sweatshop
Maybe you can Visit a Beyerdynamic Factory next time :D
Yes please, more behind the scene factory tours. Thank you.
Listening to this with my Sennheiser Momentum.
Listening to this with my Beyerdynamic DT880.
Suddenly the price of the HD800's makes sense
Imagine assembling the Orpheus
Too bad you guys didn't spend more time with the Orpheus...
I'm still rocking my HD580 & HD600 cans (since 2001 & 2006, respectively.) Most of the parts are interchangeable with the still extant HD650, and _everything_ is replaceable-the main reason they've lasted this long. Long enough to survive my clumsy late-childhood's stewardship and from thence into adulthood as a freelance NLE. I've gotten more than my money's worth, and their sentimental value is major.
MOAR!!!! more factory tours definitely! these are really cool, thanks guys!
How it's made Linus tech style. Do more factory tours, good stuff.
I watched this while using beyerdynamic headphones.
No regrets.
:P
Beyerdynamic headphones look awesome I want a pair lol
