I, too, have seen many decluttering videos. But I can relate to yours easily for some reason. Idk. I’ve been on a decluttering kick now for a while and have made good progress. Got sick over the holidays so I need to just jump back in and get busy again. Thanks for the great advice! This will definitely help me reach my goal! 😊✅💯

UA-cam recommended your channel. Right before clutterbug. I watch loads of these types of videos.
I hope your channel soars now.

I've never regretted anything that I've donated or given away or sold. I've not sold hardly anything. I'm not patient enough
When it needs to go it sets it around it's frustrating. They're going to buy it and then they're not going to then they don't want to give you anything for it. Probably the people that end up getting it when you donate it appreciate it more anyway. I know when my girls were young and I bought a lot second hand. I so appreciated it. It was very helpful to me. It was just me and my girls and I actually ended up with a lot of things I could never afford to buy in the store. Very nice things for my daughters and myself
The things that I've kept that have ruined in a box in the garage or baby clothes that is so outdated that someone could have used. I don't ever want to do that again. I don't want to have a hoarder's heart. I want to have a heart like Jesus and if I'm not using it I want to make sure someone can
Good luck to everyone on their journey. Mine has been long and difficult and it's still ongoing

Thank you so much for visual and reasoning and clarity..I keep going in circles and tend to box everything to condense "like"😒things..so I end up boxing everything and am frustrated because now its just alot of boxes..I want LESS things...my severe adhd brain cant seem to compartmentalize correctly..
My brain got a smile reading the captioning and watching the process...Thank-you I subscribed. I keep watching "HOW to" videos trying to help myself..but get frustrated with buying bins to contain it all and my poor brain just goes WHAT???
I dont understand why downsizing and decluttering means BUY fancy containers to store the clutter in.
🤔..so thank you, and the banker box, ziplocks, post its, black marker...exactly how I manage to get anything done..trying 😂to clear my table now, you're awesome..I need that doubling person when im sorting.."I dont need this huh?
More likely to rid my self of things to go, instead of moving itcto another place..😁

So glad you found this helpful. You’re in good company with the decluttering challenges. (That’s why my profession exists.) If you find you need help with the clutter, go to NAPO.net to find professional organizer in your area.

You are the first man I've seen doing these decluttering videos. Usually it's women. Your video reminds me of "Clutterbug." Very similar.

Did that just occur to you from experience or was that order of floors, surfaces, shelves then cabinets something you learned from someone else? It seems pretty logical.

Ooh, great question! It’s always been logical to me as a solo organizer, but when I started working in teams and saw employees starting with the items and cabinets and drawers, when there is no floor to walk on or surfaces to process on, I discovered that this order must be Clarified to deliver the most efficient decluttering process.

I've avoided buying any new storage boxes etc. But I think I'm ready to do that now for a big declutter. And a lot of heavy duty trash bags to toss items. I'm in my 70s and a lot of the things I kept from when I moved here when I retired in 2006 don't apply to my life now. Like old business paperwork, resumes and electronics from back then! Tossing my rolodex!
