We enjoyed watching you build your camp. Very traditionally built with the real old fashioned tools. I was amazed at how well the logs went together as you would slide them down from end to end. Really a great camp. I understand why you dog was so interested in going back too. Hope she remains better and doesn't need more shots. As those shots deteriorates the bones on animals as well as humans too. Glad she is recuperating and I look forward to seeing more of your videos too. Had to subscribe to you, so calming to watch you work and see it all coming together.

Well conceived, well designed, and well executed. Highly utilitarian. Exactly what would be needed for a permanent bush crafting camp in bear country, where cooking inside your shelter is not advisable. These videos are savers.

Although it takes a massive amount of work to achieve, your projects in the wild are second to none. Musen looks to be healthy now after a long rest and healing, thanks to the sacrifice of her "human dad". Glad to see both of you in the forest breathing in he nature again. It an amazing saw. Always hated sawing before i got a Silky. Now its no problem. :) An old frame saw would maybe be more correct for my type of videos, but it doesn't even come close in use compared to this one.

DonVonGun yes they will be pine, and sealed with birch resin. This is my first try at ski building. If they are not beautiful I hope at least they will be functional. Only 30 minutes? So there is not much snow in Denmark ?

So Soren, once the solar panels and parabolic dish are installed, would you consider renting it for a wknd ? I'd pay xtra for a wood heated hot tub. :) I do think a sauna is possible with the fire pit and rocks , all thats needed is water and therapeutic herbs! Eh? Why didn't you lay stones beforehand as a transition from the earth to the wooden walls and only then put the tree trunks on top? So to protect against moisture damage to the wood. Does that have a specific reason why you did this? Today I was really happy to see another video of you. I love your project. Very nice. Have a good time and stay healthy.

Hi Don. Discovered and binge watched you vids for *hours* now. I learned the Prusik knot , how to build a bush chair, how to carve a spit for chicken, and much more. I also learned I never want to make that kind of roof. Have questions! What brand(s) of knives are you using to carve (I see a tan handled folder, about 4" blade; and a round wood handled knife, and others)? What kind of cord are you using for tarp ridgeline (the cord is black, braided, on a round spool)? Are those waxed pants? What brand? Why do you choose them (water resistant, abrasion resistance, etc)? Why a Silky Saw instead of folding, wood, buck saw? Is it because with a Silky Saw you're not limited to log diameter you can saw? Thank you.
Hahaha!!! Thanks. The roof structure is fine, but laying all them rafters was a long hard work. Most of your questions is answered under info. (under the videos) The cord is bankline, i dont use it any more, and dont recommend it. I find it at every campsites now. Its made of nylon (plastic) and tar. Its easy to bind, but not easy to loosen, so people cut it off. Leather pants. They are warm, and takes alot of moist and is very strong. The Silky saw is the best i have ever tried, i have not tried anything that comes close to it. Use to hate sawing, now its no problem. I know the theme might be better suited for a buck saw. But it is less fun driving a fiat uno, if you have a lamborghini in the garage.

what do you use to sharpen your tools?
