I have been watching Bushcraft builds for over 4 years and have never commented before. This is by far the highest quality build I have ever watched. I fancy myself as a woodworker and cabinet maker. The skill to build a shelter like this you very rarely see in furniture, let alone a home. Thoroughly impressed.

That was an amazing project. The fact it was all done by hand with no power tools and on nails or screws shows the level skill he has. Id love to have a house like that out in the mountains away from the craziness of the cities. I can build simple shelters but thats way above my skill level. But watching these videos i have learned a few things. These videos are great for people to see how things are done withput the aid of power tools. The projects take longer but are far more appealing to eye and fit in to the environment around them.

My great-grand father n my grand-dad used hand tools just like you, when they built the homes in WA state. My older brother who had a construction business there, one day was talking about the framing n roof tresses of the homes and they had built it to last. They used a lot of 6", 8" and bigger beams for the framing and roof tresses. I guess building log cabins there in the old country of Finland they wanted to be sure the houses lasted for generations. Well 5 almost 6 generations lived there. Only thing I remember really being replaced was porch railings and steps when I was last there. But watching you skillfully build the shelter, took me back to when I would watch as my grand-dad would let me help him sand, stain his rifle gun stocks he would make for hunting rifles, while he would bore out the rifle barrels and machine the trigger, bolt etc. I'd watch the old school master craftsman of making needed things at that time, (era) couldn't be ordered off the internet.
I enjoyed your video; only wish you would have narrated it. Told a story of your journey of how you chose the build site, tools you were using. Explaining more the tools and the steps of your build. Just like those old Disney adventure movies, where the characters and animals thought process was narrated. But going to give a 4.5 star rating out of 5. Great job.

Loved seeing the tech you did for lashing the roof supports to the ground structure. Bolin knot I believe but I always tied back to the main body behind my loop but you left a tail off the loop knot to attach to. This will make my attachments a lot tighter now. So simple thank you.

I did, however, watch all the individual videos of you building the Fire Cabin with amazement and awe. My heart wasn't in it to watch all the blood, sweat and tears that went into this incredible build only to see you have to deconstruct it in the end. The skills and determination to build the fire cabin was inspiring to say the least, a fantastic feat of ingenuity. Thanks for the excellent original videos showcasing the build and the unavoidable one in the end. You and Musen take care, good health and enjoy!
