I played the OG F-ZERO so I knew what I was in for, but hearing this theme blaring while racing Fire Field on F-ZERO 99 is a waaaaay different experience and vibe! Such an exhilarating race that's for sure!
Legit, the first time I played the course, I ended up dying because I didn't realize the power strip was on the wider turn until 2 laps in. If only I'd realized that earlier, I probably would've made it.
I like the seriousness this song conveys, really pushed my buttons and made me sweat when I'd slam into one of the slow cars and start getting smashed around by the damn Golden Fox.
I need to hook up my SNES and fire this up again. This game is honestly one of the most nostalgic experiences of my life, this music gets my blood pumping! So much tension in this track, I would sweat bullets every time I heard it. Funny how simple video games can become such amazing experiences for us when we're kids, and stick with us our whole lives. I love F-Zero, and all of it's music
7 years late, but I totally agree. It's awesome to enjoy this song without the low energy beeping because I'm almost dead. Lol. Even as an adult, that course is still a bastard. Amazing music though. I'm one of the fortunate people that never got rid of my older consoles, and I love showing my kids games like f zero.
Every time I beat the game on king league it always feels like an accomplishment. I'm from the 80's and l still play this game and it still rocks just like all of us kids from the 1980s.
Even the comments on the sound track are elevated by the freaking music. That’s how amazing it is. After all these years it’s all as epic as I remember from when I was 9 years old. You’re all legends.
Honestly the orange cars kinda look like Micheal Cain’s Wild Boar, since canonically all 30 racers (story wise) actually race during the original game but the SNES was limited to the OG 4 characters.
the song just fits F-Zero 99 in general. your bloods pumping, your going faster then hell on winding roads trying not to explode or rank out, F-Zero 99 imho is just what F-Zero's races feel like for us who played the games prior
When this gets into 99 everyone is gonna be having one of the biggest difficulty spikes in a game ever. Especially Golden Foxes, cause you can't make any mistakes if your frontrunning.
This track is going to be stupid in 99. Not only is it skinny as shit, but most of the turns either require you to either brake completely or to go full into a guard rail to bounce and then correct. There is also almost no good place to boost, so Fox is going to find that most of the time it just wants to use it's acceleration to get back into things. I see a lot of horrible placements for Red Bumpers too AND it's got a mine field at the start of the race. So you either have to hug the Guardrail, or try to swerve in and out. This track was bad enough trying to dodge the few Bumpers it would throw at you on top of getting ahead of the Fox. I can't imagine it with 19 other actual people trying to vai for position. It's going to be a slaughter once newbies hit the magnets into the fire and even worse once they realize that the pit is at the END of the race and they have to choose between the shorter route to finish or get repaired. Of course for some machines, the boost pad is preferable.
I can’t believe I won the King League on the second try. Died the first try on Port Town II on the line and first time on Fire Field I got 5th and clutched a 10 point lead to win it all!
I barely survived the League with the Blue Falcon, couldn't even reach this one with the Golden Fox as I finished 21st in Red Canyon 2. What else is left but I've gotta get better.
@@eduardogomez4275 It’s definitely not a Blue Falcon/Golden Fox friendly league. Atm the Wild Goose seems like the most optimal machine to use either that or the Fire Stingray if you can keep up your speed.

@@rebirthphoenix5646 yeah it'll definitely be the king league exclusive track. It'll be interesting to see though because it's such a long and difficult map
The goose is perfect for literally every map in the game and this one is no different. I’d say Falcon and Stingray have the biggest issues here, but even Stingray has it pretty fine as long as you stay in the lead (and if you got this far with Stingray, you should be able to pull it off).
This track will definitely be interesting in 99. Do you take the inside to try and maintain the lead, or do you take the outside to heal up and risk dropping a few spots? I’m also very curious as to which path the Skyway will take.
I think there is a screenshot somewhere which shows the Skyway will at least skip the first chicane section - It'll be a definite tactical circuit for energy management for sure. It's going to be superb! Especially if it's like Silence where it's a standing start so not everyone will even see the Skyway.
As far as I can tell, the Skyway will always take players over the pit zones, so I think it will do so on Fire Field once that track is made available to play.
Sometimes it's an issue with the composition not matching the pitch or approach, I feel that way about Castlevania 3's Beginning, it sounds really good on the Famicom version but every remix after I feel just does not match the same vibe as the first. Final Fight and the Double Andore theme is another good example, the instrumentation is really weak but it has a really good bassline to it making it sound more intense and it's something the original or other remixes don't handle as well.
I love it when the final hardest track is made just slightly longer than average. Wii Rainbow Road and SNES Fire Field are some of my favorite tracks of both Mario Kart and F-Zero, and they both share this trait.
