My favourite Kirby moment (for Kirby himself) is when he reflects about how stars wound't be as bright without the dark of the space ( aka good can't exist without evil) in Mass Attack, and It also shows he isn't as brainless as people think

I love that line SO much, but rather than interpreting it about evil, it's just realizing the world is beautiful with its light AND its dark, Necrodeus wanted to cover everything in darkness, that's bad, but darkness itself is really good too, just as long as it's not all there is!! It's SO cute!
I think it is more so a matter of appreciation. Without the darkness in space, you can't appreciate the light of the stars. (you cannot understand the value of being good without evil showing you what makes being "good" good).
Actually, he's is as brainless as people think because good is entirely capable of existing without evil because good has a positive quality and evil has negative quality. Another way of thinking about this is this: does a hole exist in the same way as whatever material it is made in?
@@VunderGuy If you never knew the concept of, or experienced evil, how would you know what you're doing is truly good? It's like if a kid took a toy that belonged to their friend without asking. Usually that friend is willing to share what they have but the kid takes the toy because he thinks that the friend wouldn't mind because he's already so giving, and thus he isn't considerate. If the kid didn't know you always had to ask for permission, he wouldn't see it as evil.
I feel like gooey having the same powers as Kirby was the first hint of Kirby (possibly) being related to dark matter

Honestly, I kinda view Gooey and Kirby as cousins. Kirby was (maybe) born from void, while Gooey was born from dark matter which was (maybe) born from void. Knowing how many plans they've thwarted though, Kirby and Gooey probably aren't invited to the family reunions, heheh.
specially since like 90% of those plans are by said family members, in attempting to explain all of kirby lore in one video, the RPG Monger mentions zero dark matter nebula and kirby all being reincarnations of void, yeah they aint invited

I think, Kirby is Void. But the Void created from positive energy, and that broke the heart to begin with. Then with the pure of kindness being released from Void, the true evil from within could appear, showing us how Kirby could have ended. What Kirby without friends could have become. Yet, all the enemies Kirby has faced in the past, all formed together to give Void some of the strength we faced in the final boss. Dark Matter, some attacks similar to the other enemies too. Void isn't Dark Matter, Void is Kirby. And Kirby has beaten Void with what makes Kirby Kirby, friends, the true power of the Star Allies heart
"Kirby is simply, A Friend." I listened to this over and over, and everytime I smile at this line. Kirby doesn't need to be complicated, he doesn't need to be this awe inspiring hero, he just wants to be friends. And that is the most pure thing in any universe, and that will always make anyone with a good heart, smile, knowing that they can always find a friend in the amazing, adorable, pink puffball known as Kirby.

My take on kirby is this.
He was born from positive energy, falling to a land of dreams, when he learned of a food eating competition, so he entered and won against the king DeDeDe
Then, Triple D decided to take all the food so kirby couldn't win again against him

RecD, a youtuber, does Friday Night Funkin lyrics nowadays but before that game he did a few fanmade kirby lyrics.
One growth Kirby has had is that in his figure description in Forgotten Land it states he has become better at not eating everything he sees, which is actually kinda big if you think about it.
Great video, here's some notes aboit his character:
- In Rainbow Curse, his sratue states that he came to Dreamland on a Spring Breeze. Aside from his connection to Void, this is the only lore we get on him.
- Kirby's intelligence is portrayed inconsistently, early on he was depicted with the ability to speak a few times (manuals, Avalanche, manga) and in the US manual for Adventure it's stated that he's a "young boy" however this was largely dropped by the time of the anime.
That show established two things that would define Kirby, first being thay he cannot talk and tbe second being that he's just a baby.
This is seen in most of his appearances after the anime, for example him not being able to read in Figjters 2 falls in line with his appearance in the anime and not so much the early media depicting the character.
However in Mass Attack, after defeating the final boss Kirby wonders if darkness is necessary for light to exist in this world. This is really ohilosoohical for somwone who's "just a baby."
He's depicted with the ability to speak in manga and light novels released after the anime too, he's basically just as he was in the US Adventure manual (a young boy.)

huh...Never thought Kirby had Inconsistent Intelligence, I Just thought Kirby was a kid that knew a thing or two(In Kirby Mind) About the Universe. and because the Anime was deemed Non-Cannon I Thought Mass-Attack was a good Psyche of Kirby. Guess that mind-set was a bit misleading...then again I Guess Kirby is More Consistent then A Certain Sega Character that Isn't.

In Star Allies, one of the Void Termina pause screens has Kirby talk in full sentences, and after SA there was an audio drama where he also talks in full sentences. In both he talks like a child
Kirby’s cool, man. Dude allows the people around him to be the best versions of themselves. Allied with the forces of good, and allowing them to have arcs in the first place.
Void is also stated to be the Ancestor and Origin of All. Void is probably the single oldest being in the entire Kirby Multiverse.
At last, the wait is over... and man, was it worth it. Kirby is one of those characters that is so simple and yet is kind of an enigma. Granted, Star Allies heavily implies that Kirby and Void are atleast strongly connected in some way, but aside from that, there really isn't all that much when it comes to Kirby's origins. All we know for sure is that Kirby came riding in on a Spring Breeze one day and has been helping Dream Land ever since. And you know what? It ultimately doesn't matter where Kirby came from or how he came to be, what's important to me is that no matter what, Kirby will always remain simple. And that's great! Not every fictional character needs a complex backstory in order to be loved by everyone. Sometimes, all you need is to draw a circle, dot a pair of eyes and add a great big smile...
Kirby is adorable. Kirby is goofy. Kirby is powerful. Kirby is badass. Kirby is endearing. Kirby can become anything. But above all else, Kirby is shaped like exactly what he is: a friend to all. And, well... that's why I love Kirby so much. That's why he's my comfort character. Thanks for doing Kirby justice, Silvery, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you cook up next.

Even though Void Soul and Astral Birth are not canon to Kirby, could they be canon to Void itself? Something similar already happens to Galacta Knight, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility.
I think the way it works is that they are canon, but Kirby just hasn’t canonically met them

My personal favorite example of Kirby's characterization is probably the one on the Kirby Drama CD released in Japan. His voice and the way he talks just scream "friend" to me.
Does Fecto Elfilis count as another god that Kirby killed? It is the “Ultimate Life-Form” (no, it’s not Shadow the Hedgehog) after all.

the fact that gooey also possessed copy abilities when he was playable connected him to kirby with that alone. Perhaps kirby is Light matter on the branching evolution line that is Void. Kirby is a twinkling star, the spawn of a god or a god himself. What he wants is to have his needs met and for those around him to have their needs met too. He raised those baby chicks simply because he knew they likely needed it after he defeated dynablade. Kirby seems to fully be able to understand language even if he can't really speak it or is nonverbal. It's believable that kirby doesn't know how to read, he has never needed to do so and there doesn't seem to be some schooling system and he has no one to sit him down and teach him (meta knight reads but kirby doesn't live around meta knight). Kirby understands numbers and money though since he can pay for things in Forgotten Land.

Great video!! I'm a sucker for kirby lore analysis (or just kirby content in general) and this was such a perfect way of putting it. yes, kirby is an ultra-powered warrior who probably eats gods for breakfast, but he's also the first one to lend a hand when you're in trouble or need a pal. Although there are heaps of mystery and lore alluding to what he is, *who* he is couldn't be any clearer. At the end of the day, kirby is just, well, kirby. He's a friend.

Kirby is that friend that is going to stay with you no matter what. I love this pink blob so much, it brings me joy.
I know you were counting spidoffs out but as Mass Attack is actually one of the more... down to earth ones I'd note that Void Termina is the second 'God' that Kirby has slain with Necrodues whose very name is 'Death God' being the first... Though honestly It does go to show that the term 'God' tends to be a title more than a statment of power,... Necro is strong don't get me wrong but I'd say he still ultimately pales in comparison to Void or even some of the non diety foes that Kirby has faced like the Nova's... in fact despite being the other example of a deity he mainly gets as far as he does fighting Kirby via fighting smarter and not harder, never actually having to face the pink puff's full abilities due to a cleaver ambush as well as specifically having his minions hunt Kirby in between islands to keep our hero weakened during the game.
I have a theory about Necrodeus that has him as one of the most important Kirby characters. In every other Kirby game I can remember, enemies respawn if they die and their starting location is offscreen. And soul bosses are a thing. My theory is that he used to take the souls of the dead away, until Kirby killed him. This would also make Mass Attack the first kirby game time-wise.
I have basically no evidence for this, but it's fun to think about.
We don't have a definitive answer of course, but I subscribe to the notion that Kirby and Void are one and the same. We have no direct evidence of this, but I like to think that there's a sort of loop where Kirby defeats Void and void somehow reincarnates into Kirby either in the past or in a new timeline. At least, that's the feeling the somber 8-bit rendition of Green Greens givess me during the battle with Astral Birth: Void.
Also of note, I know I read an official source that says Kirby's backstory is unknown and that he simply "blew into Dreamland one day on a Spring Breeze" which really gives new meaning to the subgame in Super Star. I think it was Kirby's figurine in Rainbow Curse that said this? In other words, Kirby's official backstory is that he just appeared one day and I like to think that means Void reincarnated and just got plopped in the middle of a certain crisis involving stolen food and his new, natural goodness drove him to act.

For anyone here who doesn’t know Kirby is actually the baby form of a god floating from space. This god makes things depending on the type of energy it feels in space. It passed by an area of positive energy and created Kirby and it had also happened to pass by an area of negativity which believe it or not, led to the creation of the final boss from Star Allies. Seeing Meta knight is the same species as Kirby we can also assume that Meta Knight was made in a positive area before Kirby seeing as canonically Meta Knight is older and more experienced then Kirby is. Another fun fact is that the reason Kirby can eat so much is because inside his mouth is his own pocket dimension meaning Kirby is basically a walking portal
Actually something I’ve noticed, Kirby is getting more powerful overtime, ever so slightly. He didn’t even have copy abilities in the first game, and eventually got his slide hit. In lost land, his dodge is now bullet time.

Kirby may not be the most complex character, he may not be the smartest tool in the shed, but he doesn’t need to be at all.
Being the pure embodiment of love and acceptance, Kirby is the perfect person to call on when you’re feeling down. Having a bad day? Buy a Kirby plush and hug it for a while.

Kirby games are the only games that I'm ever genuinely excited to pause on the first playthrough - not only just to read boss descriptions, but to reflect on everything that could relate to said boss.
This series has left such a mark on my life, that it rivals that of my other obsession, yugioh, both of which are how I came up with my name and very online avatar. Super Star Ultra, alongside Drawn to Life, and Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, were the first 3 video games I can even remember playing, but Kirby stuck out to me far more than the other two.
I chose Wham Bam Rock to inspire my avatar not only because he's one of my favorite bosses from that game (and I really hope he appears again in future games), but he's one of the first times I ever really felt intimidated playing a game. It's a giant, floating, expressive face of stone with gigantic hands - and when all you've seen up until that point in video games is a shadowy blob villain named Wilfre, and Emperor Palpatine, it was so jarring to face something that neat. Obviously, the "big stone head with big hands" trope gets repeated a lot through nintendo games, with one even in Mario Odyssey, I'll never forget the very first one I met, and where he comes from.
I think it would be cool if you did analyses of Whispy Woods and Kracko since they have practically become staples in the franchise at this point.
Who is Kirby? Kirby is Kirby that is all that matters to me, and the minute we have a Kirby game that asks and answers that question,, the better in my opinion.

Damn if silvery makes more kirby videos i really want him to analyze the villans and his theories about how they got into star allies, if the tought ever crosses his head.
Void exists outside of time and space. In all realities. Just as the multiverse depicts every possiblity. All forms of Void exist at once. Zero, Kirby, and Termina. By beating Zero and Astral Birth, Kirby proves he is the strongest. But as the power of love beats Void (Kirby throwing hearts) Void is reborn in a long Time loop, as the Infant, Kirby.
In headcanon, Zero came from a timeline where Kirby never existed, but as he, and Zero 2 died, that timeline collapsed as nothing existed in it without Dark Matter.
Also Kirby is technically the Alternate dad or uncle to Gooey.

An important quote from Masahiro Sakurai himself on the Kirby series moving on without him:
"While it is a principle that this character should be able to reflect the player’s feelings well, I also think it’s important to acknowledge that Kirby is a mysterious creature. For example, who are the left and right Kirbys that dance together with Kirby during the Clear Dances? Or what exactly is the nature of Kirby’s dynamic ability, that allows him to for example transform into a giant and transport the entire castle at the end of the first game, or to transform himself with his copy ability? Kirby is able to do things that other characters cannot do naturally, and I think this is what makes Kirby so interesting.
However, I am a little worried that this has become the standard these days. I feel that the three Kirbys dancing together has become the norm, and that the sense of mystery has reached a point of stability, and by embodying the culture and other aspects of that world, I feel that Kirby and the others have become indigenous, and that they are getting closer to becoming ordinary.

This is commonly described as the checkered carpet which covers the floor of the lodge. The lecture says that the mosaic pavement “is a representation of the ground floor of King Solomon’s Temple” and is “emblematic of human life, checkered with good and evil.”
What I really enjoy about kirby is how well he encapsulates the apathetic nature of a God. He isn't some altruist wishing to please those around him, nor does he care about some greater good because after all, he is the greatest source of goodness so what could be greater than him? He simply does as he wills and isn't beholden to or in need of anything but himself. It's just fortunate for those around him that his will entails making friends and spreading good vibes.

I really hope they delve back into the Kirby-Void connection and reveal more about his origin. Maybe for the 50th anniversary game?
I like to imagine positive energy will lead to Kirby. Negative energy will lead to Zero. Void is nothing and Zero represents nothing. However when dark matter is around other things and not near zero. They end up changing and become something of their own. Dark Matter in the adventure 2 became a swordsman to fit in with Dreamland. Gooey is a dark matter, but became a goofy gooey friend somehow.
Actually odd parallel with Kirby and dark matters. Dark matters possess others to use their powers. Look at DeDeDe getting possessed constantly by them. Meanwhile Kirby just eats something and makes the power part of himself.
Also did mention how Kirby has a girlfriend. (Most random nugget of Kirby lore I enjoy.)

Yes, the cult leader uses him and the three mage sisters to summon Void Termina, but you can still save them in another game mode and the three sisters will be playable

In the Japanese Kirby light novels, one book is set in the Samurai Kirby milieu, which is presented as a feudal-Japanese-themed alternate universe to Dream Land, kind of like how Dream Kingdom is a generic medieval-European-fantasy-themed alternate universe. There's also a steampunk alternate universe in a book about excavating Galactic Nova?
headcannon: Kirby, Gooey, Zero, Void, and Dark Nebula. are all made of "dark matter" Zero being a hive mind of sorts (basiclly all the one-eyed floaty orbs we see are him). Dark Nebula is, as previously stated, the ruler of the underworld, and Void is a destroyer of worlds. for whatever reason however, Kirby and Gooey aren't like there fellow Dark matter spawn, perhaps that's a plotpoint that will be explained in a future game.

Great video, but isn’t what counts as a god subjective? If they have godlike powers, are they not basically gods? What’s the thing that separates them? ( you know because RULER OF THE UNDERWORLD kinda sounds like a god).

meta knight and Kirby are both void, void is reborn upon death and is born as a different thing depending on positive or negative energy in it, what if it had an equal amount of both and split into two, a positive and negative, but since the dark side isn’t pure darkness it can be turned with more positive energy, which is why he works with kirby now. we do have a vague idea of what Kirby is in the Kirby anime
obviously that doesn't mean anything for the game but it is implied in episode 3 that NME created Kirby but Kirby would not bow to him or follow him in any way.
and that is implied to be the reason why he wants to get rid of him because he fears that Kirby would be able to stop him.
Maybe next you could do some sort of character analysis on galacta knight and or Morpho knight, because more phone died at least seems to hold some major significance in the Kirby lore

Okay, so what I understood was that void termina was like a soul made of a gathering of “energy”. So, I’m guessing that by “positive” and “negative” energy, it’s talking about emotions (??? maybe???), which would make kinda sense - to me at least (if this actual connection of species exists between them) - both were made of concentrated emotional, well, *energy* because Kirby is basically a walking ball of friendship. (If you need me to site sources for this, then please take into consideration that like most of his friends have at one point tried to kill him before - sometimes repeatedly - and now they all fight deities together when they aren’t being invaded by some new future friend. Side note: Kirby series is wild, man.)
And if our pal termina here was made out of things like fear and hate and Kirby was made of love and friendship - and also assuming that the alternate colorations don’t make them completely different species(es) or otherwise exempt from these theoretical “rules” - wouldn’t the same principle apply to others implied to be similar/the same species, like Meta Knight, Galacta Knight and Morpho Knight (unless I’m *completely* misunderstanding the last two characters)? Like, if Kirby = a concentrated ball of love, and termina = a ball of fear and malice, then wouldn’t the same basic idea apply to the other 3? (I’m not talking about mirror dimension versions of the walking talking god-killing orbs because I don’t know if alternate realities would topple this admittedly already shaky theory. Thanks for understanding)
Sorry to everyone trying to make sense of that wall of text. It’s probably confusing. My mind just kinda went into overdrive there, so sorry for rambling. Thanks if you read this far, and please correct me if I fricked up and/or dropped the ball on anything. I’m kinda new to Kirby (and the lore of his games as a whole really) so any input would be appreciated.
I think it's fair to assume that Metaknight and Galacta Knight are both positive energy reincarnations or descendants of Void in some way like Kirby. We don't know how the process for "maturing" goes for Kirby's species, so I imagine that Metaknight's upbringing was different than Kirby's for him to specialize as a swordsman; Metaknight also displays a lot of positive energy traits, as even when he was trying to get Dream Land to stop being lazy, it was done out of good intentions. Galacta Knight is the same way, but I think something terrible must have happened to him for him to go from being a hero to being sealed away like he was, so he might be an example of one of Kirby's species going from being positive to negative. Morpho Knight is kind of interesting because we have less lore on him than even Galacta Knight, but I believe his creation is entirely due to the butterfly fusing with Galacta Knight in order to create the perfect warrior. We don't know much about the butterfly other than the fact that it's been following Kirby for awhile for whatever reason. Kirby's special because of his purity. He has no desire to specialize in anything like the others do, because it's his flexibility and creativity to use his powers with the best of intentions.

if you go off the manga and anime Kirby and Metaknight are of the same race of cosmic warriors. except that Kirby is a baby. and happens to be that strong. it's interesting to think maybe that entire race is connected to dark matter in a way but Kirby is just the prodigy/chosen one/masiah for that race of warriors
