The Subban Trade was a no brainer. The Johansen deal was a no brainer as well. Impressive work. GM of the year. Cherelli did a great job as well, but you got to reward long term success

I'm a habs fan. If you ask me , the pred won the subban/webber trade. I would take back subban any times.

He is a great player, but you could get him back and he wouldn't be the same player, it would be difficult for PK to adjust to the pressure of the Montreal environment. That is why players like Nashville, at the end of the day it is a low pressure and fun atmosphere to play in.

Well it worked out considering the Preds are in the Stanley Cup finals for the first time.

The Johansen deal wasn't a no brainier because at the time he hadn't established himself as a dominate center and that is what is gonna make Polie gm of the year because of the risks he took

+BottleBoy lol believe it or not its not easy to start with nothing and turn it into something, preds were a playoff team within 6 years which is really impressive

Only people I can think of that hates Poile comes from one of two camps: those who vehemently hate the Predators for whatever reason, and those who still believe that the Capitals should never have been playoff contenders and remained the "Cleveland Browns of hockey". As for the Forsberg trade, that was McPhee's fault more than the Preds fleecing the Caps.

Poile is the reason why I want to see the Predators raise the Cup some day. As a Capitals fan, I can never thank him enough from taking our team out of the cellar, and he has made the Predators successful in a non-traditional market. If there is someone that really deserves his name on the Cup, it's him.

ry4nx yea and love the Sens organization as well when they traded Fisher to Nash just because his wife Carrie Underwood lived in Nashville and still does now he is captain what a great story I hope preds and sens meet in the final just will be tough to see one win cause both deserve it and both are great teams from inside out

Young franchise forwards... check, young franchise defencemen... check and they have a young talented backup for Rinne. Only thing the preds need to think is the date when they are going to lift 35 up in bridgestone arena.

Pk and shea are DIFFERENT players and it's the way the game is going. Speed and skill. Habs are dumb and will sit on an L (webers contract) for years

Sorry, but I don't think the Trotz firing was necessary to get them to where they are today. Trotz could have easily adjusted his system to a more offensive-minded approach. As it is, much of the team's structure, system and longtime sustained success against the same opponents they have face this playoff season was developed under Trotz's reign as coach.

Lavy is just a better coach. This is his 3rd team he's taken to the cup final.
Trotz has never even made it to the conference final.

The best GM is Ron Hextall. It is close, but Hextall has taken a competitive team in the Flyers while stockpiling the number one prospect pool in the Nhl and already has two first round picks in next years draft. Hextall is making the Flyers a future dynasty and then some while only being the GM for three years. Incredible.
