A common video but really just a snapshot. Key problem in Victoria itself is the same as a lot of Canada = lack of forward looking building. Huge amounts of new people but mired in land owned by boomers who want to stagnate the market.
The island is going to grow tremendously but I think Langford and maybe Duncan, Nanaimo and other spots could position themselves better for growth than Victoria and Vancouver which will be the expensive spots where foreigners and the wealthy simply own land. Nothing is written in stone but I'm really unimpressed by much of the CRD with Victoria and company leading the way on NIMBYISM but beyond that a general un-want for growth and development.
I mentioned on this channel we are moving to the island due to cost of living in Vancouver but Victoria is very close to the same problems but (imo) with an even more acute problem of government catering to those who own vs those to come. Frustrating as all of these places could be leaders but are more content with simply serving the few.
