It looks easy but the solution is very mind blowing! The queen was literally the immortal.
Chess vibes love love love your awesome videos there all awesome mate
1:10 i spent 2 minutes looking at this position trying to figure out how rook c5 isnt mate
Exactly!
This is one of the few channels that don't end the video with "like and subscribe". Thank you.
Yes, that iconic "stay sharp, play smart, and take care" are much nicer
There's no problem in saying that
I knew that Rd7 was the right move for black but what stumped me was the fact that Qb7 immediately was not the right move. This was a fun puzzle to learn from. 👍
I was also thinking of playing that right away but it turns out to be a big mistake :(
why not rock direct to c5 instead of just threatining checkmate? 1:53
-10 iq brain🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the king can just take on d4
@@Melvin-14 bruh dont be rude its not that simple to see it cus its a mess on the table. I tought c5 was a thing too
Because the king got checked so they couldn’t move the rook, then the rook got pinned, so they can move the rook there either.
The king can take the undefended black pawn next to it in D4, the extra rook move protects that pawn.
checkmate a martin, but in 1 minute
5:15 a Pawnny move indeed
Stay sharp, Nelson :-))
I commented this, but there is a pretty interesting reason why Qb4+ has to be played. This point does go hand-in-hand to what Nelson pointed out. If we went to the position at 3:47, you will notice that whoever has the move will win. At 3:47, if Qb7 was played right away, it would be Black's turn to play, and Black wins by taking on c3. At 4:02-4:04, with the insertion of Qb4+ (Black King moves to f7 for example) and Qb7, after Black plays Ke7, it is now White's turn to play, and it is White who wins in that same critical position at 4:32 by going cxd4.
I thought of King to D7 in response to B7 at first
Awesome vid but what happened to our Peter Jo, Average Fisherman and Bobby Patzer ????
this was one of the easier puzzles on your channel
i got most of the moves right
How about taking the D4 pawn with the king as the first move so the king immediately has room to escape? Probably take the C4 pawn the next move.
Best yt channel yes it's not easy to practice all'tactics
We need more Bobby Fischerman!
New episode tomorrow guys
@@come.inside.me.join.now. how do u know
Where is Bobby fisherman, is he safe, is he alright
great not fool me at all
You started this on the presumption of pawn push on the rook. I looked at those 3 pawns and called it a stable position blocking the rook. So my opening move was actually King to D-4 taking pawn and then moving the King in to defend the 3 pawns.Nevermind mate.
Chess but every time a piece moves it must change rank AND file
Hi, I was here when you just had 1 to 2k subs, now u have 343k which is some improvement!🔥🔥🔥
Can you do an end game video of King+Queen vs King+Queen?
this is draw anyway by queen exchange, No other solution
What about the fish adveture did You forget
1:07 Can’t the rook go to C5 directly checkmate? Or am I blind.
Wait, I found it, kxd4
"B7 is the correct move"
Me who would done pawn takes A7.....
After b×a7, the Rook can just stay on the back rank, and play d4×c3 and push for a Queen ...
5:21 what if push the pawn (c2-d6+)
I see the moves
c2 d6+
Kf8 Qc8+
Kf(g)7 QXd7+ and the white looks easy win but I am not so sure.
Why rd7? is rc5 not checkmate?
Brilliant!
I entered this position into ChatGPT and at 1:30, it suggested f5 as means of escaping the mating net.
Maybe ChatGPT thinks the pawn on f4 is a shogi pawn and can take the bishop on f5.
@@dieschachbrettfee2060 Possibly. Also, it's ChatGPT, it can do what it likes. If it wanted to play f6+, what are we going to do about it?
1:01 rook to c5 check mate
Why the rook can't simply go on c5 in his first move?
i thought that Rc5 would be mate?
GMs can also be tricked, it's a really normal thing that can always happen :)))
I reached 1756 elo because of Nelson.
Love from Indiq
after the rook take the pawn at C-7 he can go C-5 to check why he must go D-7
because the D4 pawn is unprotected
This allows Kxd4 as the d4 pawn is not protected
We could also pin the ROOK with the queen at the start
Or maybe no
@@jimseres4493 the difference here is whoever moves in that position with the White Queen on b7, Black Rook on d7, and Black King on e7, wins. If you play Qb7 right away, it is Black to move, and Black wins by taking on c3. However, if we went with the insertion of Qb4+ and Qb7, when Black plays Ke7, you'll notice it is the same position, but with White to move, which allows White to win and that is key.
Agree with those say take d4 pawn with King. Setting that aside, after promoting to King why is R to c5 not checkmate???
5:00 Not pawn move.. BG6 (CM)
Who is the composer?
Me
I got Qb7, pinning the rook, one move early....
But when the Rook is protected by the King, black can just play d4×c3 and push for a Queen ...
@@bradleywalker8642 right. That's why I said I found it early. It was incorrect when I thought of it, but is the right move after the check.
5:40 No. The only move I'd have tried as black there woulda been c2. What's white's best follow-up there?
Why can't he push the pawn to c2 trying to get a queen at 5:18
Congrats
Isn’t rook c5 mate in one?
Edit: nevermind, am 300 elo
2:00 Qb7, the rook is forced to take the Queen, Rxb7, axb7 and we will play b8 for a queen, and it's winning
Qb7 d3?
No, the Rook is not forced to take the Queen, because the Rook is protected by the King. Therefore Black would play d4×c3 and push for a Queen ...
1:10 but wasn't Rook C5 Mate in one? What am I missing?
Kxd4
@@jayure1346 oh, thanks
Rc5 was mate, no?
Isnt rook c5 also checkmate?
Not really, the King can capture the black pawn, Kxd4.
@@ralkadde wow... board blindness is so real. im 1500, stared at this positon for ages and just didn't see that. insane.
After getting queen in 2 moves rook to C5 is checkmate black is totaly winning so read the puzzle again.
White king takes D4
@@FuturePast2019
You are right 😅😅😅
@@FuturePast2019 then rook D4 check, haunts the king and black will win anyway
@@SS-sc4qj You mean D5. And the king takes C4
@@FuturePast2019 AFTER king takes C4, the following move of black is rook C5 check
Solved it .
beautiful!!!
İt is my study!)
At 1:09 rook to c5 is checkmate
Sorry I didn't see the pawn
1:00 rook can’t go on c5 check mate?
@Myth busters you’re right 👍
1. b7 Rxc7 2. b8=Q Rc5+ 3. Kxd4 Rd5+ 4. Kxc4 Rd7 5. Kb4 Kf7 6. c4 Be4 7. Qe5 Bd3
Surely, the obviousness of your try should have alerted you to the fact there was something more going on in the position?
If black plays rook c5 check immediately, the king wonțt escape and black wins the game anyway
the king just takes the undefended pawn
Rook c 5 is mate
it's not
affter white promote to queen,rook C5 is mate...why go rook D7 ? 0:33
kxd4
@@OtherpillarZ aahh yeah i see now...tnx
