    I was watching this game live, and I too thought you were getting crushed in the middle game. In fact I felt a bit sorry for your opponent, as I’m very familiar with that feeling of “almost beat a strong player but somehow let them get away”. Still, I’ll be rooting for you again this evening!

  • @AndresGomez-ct7qb
    @AndresGomez-ct7qb 11 місяців тому +14

    In Spanish Roosters do go "Quiquiriqui"... Well, at least that's how it's spelled out in children's books in Venezuela/Spain. It varies, same way in English people say a dog's bark is "Woof" but in Spanish "Güao" 😂😂😂

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 11 місяців тому

      It's interesting how differently rooster's sound is written in different languages. Here in Finland, it's spelled "kukkokiekuu".

    • @AndresGomez-ct7qb
      @AndresGomez-ct7qb 11 місяців тому

      @@MikkoRantalainen Interesting. Finnish is a tremendous language, tho. I tried learning it so I could read Mika Waltari's books in the original language... Had to give up sooner than expected.

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 11 місяців тому

      @@AndresGomez-ct7qb Yeah, as a Finn, I wouldn't recommend learning the language. It's needlessly complex for historical reasons even though it has one good idea: the same letter has always (practically) identical pronounciation and there are not concepts like silent letters. If a Finnish word contains 7 letters, you pronounce 7 letters.
      However, English with improved pronounciation rules rules to make pronuncation match spelling would be way superior language. May drop the sex from the pronouns, though.

    • @AndresGomez-ct7qb
      @AndresGomez-ct7qb 11 місяців тому +1

      @@MikkoRantalainen Yeah, and the grammar was a hell of a challenge. Spanish is my first language, tho, so phonetically it's more natural so pronunciación wasn't that much of an issue. It didn't help that pretty much every Finn I've met has told me not to bother learning it, and I even have a Thai friend that has worked in Finland for three years, got her PhD there, and still hasn't learned it 😂😂

    • @MikkoRantalainen
      @MikkoRantalainen 11 місяців тому

      @@AndresGomez-ct7qb Native Finns that haven't sacrificed any real thinking on the Finnish language seem to think that Finnish grammar is simple but there's a lot of weird stuff. For example, let's take "kissa" (cat). The plural is "kissat" (just add -t, right?). However, the plural of "poika" (boy) is not "poikat" but "pojat". And then you have to say "poikien kissat" (the cats of the boys) so the genitive plural is yet different and doesn't have the "j" in the middle! However, "pojan kissa" (the cat of the boy) does have a "j".
      And that's just the nouns... each verb has a lot of inflection forms because Finnish doesn't use prepositions so all the information needs to be encoded in inflection forms. For example "kävellä" (to walk) can be transformed to "kävelisitteköhän" (I wonder if [plural] you would walk) vs "kävelisitköhän" (I wonder if [singular] you would walk).

    Christian started great and probably would have won if he had attacked more.
