Thank you for the video! Would love to know about the simplera insertion when it bleeds. I've currently been on the 780G for a while now, and bleeding on the G4 sensor insertions is sadly quite common (just for me that is), and it also reads poorly when certain amounts of blood seeps through (or it just isn't able to warm up completely in the end). Would love to know about this :). Keep up the great work! It's always super nice knowing more info from you.
Great job!! Love the methodical approach to comparing the CGMs. When you see meaningful differences in the numbers, try to note the conditions (pre/post meal, pre/post exercise, etc.) to see if you find a correlation between some behavioral or environmental factor and that difference at that timepoint.
Hi Justin. Great video. When you experienced blood sugar dropping, I am interested to see if you can tell whether Dexcom or the Simplera pick up on the change sooner. When I wore Dexcom G6 and Medtronic G4 side by side last year, the Medtronic G4 would show the drop sooner. This difference means the pump algorithm can respond sooner to those drops.
Hi, congratulations on the video and what you do as a youtuber. I use the 780 pump and would love to see its use with simplera to understand any improvements in blood glucose management considering they have also implemented a revamped algorithm.
Thank you! This is really exciting. I'm especially looking forward to you trying to get data out of the Medtronic walled garden. I've been having the worst time of it. On Android through XDrip, and it's really terrible.
I’ve got the chance to change insulin pumps in January 25 and I was without doubt going to change from the Medtronic one because of the guardian 4 sensors. Not only does it have a two hour warmup but it often goes into updating mode for hours on end (more than the 3 they say is normal). I need to unplug it from the transmitter and restart it on another two hour warmup and if I’m lucky it will work the second time around, so yeah, I was definitely going to change away from Medtronic. But the simplera sensor might make me think twice.
Not ready for a pump yet, but I am leaning toward the Medtronic 780G. I have hesitated because I don’t like the G4 CGM. This seems better. The seven day wear time doesn’t bother me since Medtronic also has a seven day infusion set for their pumps. Theoretically, one day a week could be set aside for site changes. Probably Sunday evening for me. Yes, the 14 day Libre would allow for the same thing but this works. Since you got it Spain, you can’t comment on pricing in the U.S. but I would certainly be curious how it might compare to the Dexcom or Libre cgms.
Thanks for attaching so many sensors for this! (lol) On another note - Spain! I was born in Madrid. I guess I should travel back to get these. (live in Arizona) I am currently having many issues with my Medtronics 780g CGM Guardian 4 sensor. The past 3 applications have NOT been lasting 7 days. 4 at best. Medtronics is good about replacing those free but something is wrong - maybe the transmitter? (it was dropped 4 changes ago) Not a big deal about the 7 day use & 2 hr warm up - I'm use to that - just would like it to last the 7 days. Taping also not a big deal. One other gripe is the Medtronic app will only work with my Galaxy Pixel 6a in phone lock. Thanks again for your great UA-cam vid on this!👋👋👋
I am on Guardian 4 with 780g pump. The GMI on the carelink reports is lower than my A1c (6.4 vs 6.8) which means all the data provided by G4 is not fully accurate. Would be interested to know if Simplera (Sync) is better in this regards.
If we’re on the subject of Medtronic: - what is the timeline on the Abbott Freestyle sensor? Is there any? - do they have any development on their algorithm for endurance sports? The current one seems to fail miserably when the human produces more than 200 watts on their ride. - And pls a status-update on the Medtronic 8 series pump.
With the performance on day one looking to be good and the ability to start it before swapping to the next I don't se the 7 days as an issue. I waiting to get the closed loop simplera and 780G.
Thank you for this review! I am highly interested in switching Guardian 4 to Simplera Sync. My only concern is : I put Guardian 4 couple of hours before I connect it to the Minimed 780g pump and the sensor seems to work much better (more accurate from the beggining) this way. Will I be able to do the trick with Simplera? When does a 7 day wear start - is it the moment I pair it with pump or it starts right after it has been inserted?
There is another simplera (Simplera Sync) which is compatible with 780g and is already approved in the EU and actually in commercial use in certain EU Member States.
one big issue im having with the simplera is the amount of pressure needed to make it release the spring, like jezus i have had 2 in the same box just not going off in the first place.
@ i did contact them, they said it was a problem with the assembly of that particular box. But when i opened a different one it too went very difficult. I was hoping it would go as easy as the freestyle libre…
Information coming out now is that this sensor will also have a thirty-minute start up time, and that in the future a ten to fourteen day use time, but not in the first ones,
Only Libre 2 for me. T1 for 66 years. To bad 780g doesn't work with Libre 2 CGM. Will not get this 780g pump because of this. 😢 My warrenty is expired on my 670g pump so will get T-slim 2X pump instead...
What is the MARD of Simplera, I believe it is above 10 and is this true. Strange, because I would have expected it to get better with each new cgm release, not worse.
I believe it is 10.2% which is the same/similar to guardian 4. Simply uses the same CGM technology as Guardian 4. It leads me to believe that’s why Medtronic is working with Abbott on a new censor that would have a better accuracy.
The warmup period is closer to 2hrs 45 minutes if you add the time needed for the transmitter to recharge. Add the time needed for placement and you’re close to three hours
Hey Justin, It sounds like you have a teeny bit of a cold or you had just been talking for a long time or yelling at a soccer game just prior to the filming of this video in this video, are you okay? I heard this at the beginning of the video where you were wearing your glasses.
Thank you for the video!

I love my 780G. It’s kept me in range way more than my X2 and OP5 did. Hopefully the Simplera Sync comes out to the U.S. soon
How can I thank you enough. When might it be approved? I loved your comparisons of the three sensors.
Thank you! This is really exciting.
I'm especially looking forward to you trying to get data out of the Medtronic walled garden. I've been having the worst time of it. On Android through XDrip, and it's really terrible.
You should make a video wearing the g6, g7, libre 2, and 3
Great video, thank you!
Will switch to Simplera and In-pen in 10 days, currently on FL3.
Please share more about 3rd party devices and how to connect.

Love your videos I'm diabetic type 2 and use a Inpen and a dexcom g7 I'm new to this was diagnosed in Easter 22
Great Job diabetech. I love your Work. Do you know if the simplera for 780g can Be read in an Android smartwatch? Thank you
When you remove the CGM does the needle come out? Does it hurt? What if it breaks and stays in?

Next Monday I would start with the Simplera. Does the Simpler works with SugarPixel?
Nice video!

Im in ireland & I’m starting on a Medtronic 780g next month and simplera isn’t cleared here yet by the HSE.
With the performance on day one looking to be good and the ability to start it before swapping to the next I don't se the 7 days as an issue. I waiting to get the closed loop simplera and 780G.
did they say when we could use this with the 780g system? I see the fda approved it
im on the guardian 4 paired with the medronics 780g , is the simplera a replacement for the guardian 4 , but with less packaging. im on a closed loop
Thank you for this review! I am highly interested in switching Guardian 4 to Simplera Sync. After insertion the 2 hour warmup begins
Yeah, that's unfortunate for my purpose. I will try anyway :D.
Any reason you're using the G6 again, we just got G7 in Australia about to try it.
Se lo van a poner a mi peque con bomba medtronic y me gustaría saber de la aplicación y si podría ver en smartwatch sin llevar teléfono gracias
The reason for the disposable transmitters is to prevent extending the sensor past 7 days (Medtronic) or 10 days (Dexcom). It’s about money.
my g4 sensor will adjust my insulin on the 780g pomp will this new simplera talk to my pump to adjust the flow as well ???
100%, and may be better
There is another simplera (Simplera Sync) which is compatible with 780g and is already approved in the EU and actually in commercial use in certain EU Member States.
7 days is not acceptable compared to freestyle libre 3. However, it is a huge improvement and much better than GL4
Would be nice to be 9 days so it's in sync with most peoples infusion sets / pods...
one big issue im having with the simplera is the amount of pressure needed to make it release the spring, like jezus i have had 2 in the same box just not going off in the first place.
Oh wow! Did you contact Medtronic? What happened?
@ i did contact them, they said it was a problem with the assembly of that particular box. But when i opened a different one it too went very difficult. I was hoping it would go as easy as the freestyle libre…
I hate the 2 hour warm up for Medtronic sensors my sugar always spikes during the warm up
Can't wait for the simplera in Australia justin
such a shame it's still only 7days :/
Can this CGM withstand daily swimming routine?
If I was going to go into the swimming pool,
I would put an over patch on it, no reason to take a chance when you can know for sure.
Information coming out now is that this sensor will also have a thirty-minute start up time, and that in the future a ten to fourteen day use time, but not in the first ones,
Where did you hear this?
@@diabe_tech There was a new video with a technical expert who I think was from Medtronic's I will try to find the source and send it to you.
Only Libre 2 for me. T1 for 66 years. To bad 780g doesn't work with Libre 2 CGM. Will not get this 780g pump because of this. 😢 My warrenty is expired on my 670g pump so will get T-slim 2X pump instead...

You're definitely hooked up, all three 👍✌️in.
7 days wear only and 2 hours warmup is unacceptable to me
Hard pass
1 correction per hour on Tandem is unacceptable to me.
2 hours is wild but if I can overlap them I might be able to forgive it for the sake of keeping the rest of the ecosystem that Medtronic has.
The warmup period is closer to 2hrs 45 minutes if you add the time needed for the transmitter to recharge.
Add the time needed for placement and you’re close to three hours
Yeah. With the freestyle libre 3 taking only 1 hour and lasting 14 days, unless this one is massively lower in cost, I don’t see the point.
Looks like they just took a simple version of the UI from xDrip+
With Medtronic announcing a partnership with Abbot for CGM and Pumps this device may never see market in the US.
I love the color I see for the for the Simplera applicator. That turquoise is my favorite color
We are op5 and g7 LOVE
Too many armpit shots 😂

Once xDrip+, always xDrip+
All I want now is the worldwide release data. Replacing G4 is very annoying, it took so much effort and time! Its just a bad experience.
I still don’t like Medtronic MARD values compared to Dexcom g7
you really need to shave befor you put the cgm on no wonder it dose not work well for you and plase shave arm pits
useless because its not avable in us
