Wish these review channels would actually review an “entry level” model instead of the one with literally all the bells and whistles for $60,000…
Yep, most of us can’t afford the top model.
@life-pm5xl your right bout that!
I STILL DRIVE A 2011 TRAVERSE AND I LOVE IT.THE STEERTING IS GREAT EVERYWHERE I DRIVE.
Who doesn't want a car that will report all of your movements to an insurance company, even if you tell them not to
So you drive like a jerk?!
They should because people are dumb drivers and there is a lot of them out here. Which I hope this gets them off the road. 😂😂
Like begger
Lies again? Big Ass Car USD SGD
And for the low price or $60,000
I’d like to see a review with 8 people inside while towing a 5000 pound trailer with the 4 cylinder.
Less than optimal, but if that's what you do regularly, then this is not the vehicle for you. You cant tow 5000 pounds with 8 people. You would be over the GVWR of ~ 6160lbs. With 8 people averaging 120 pounds a person, you would have about 500 lbs of capacity which would limit you to about 2500lbs of tow at best.
Like how this dude somewhat speaks his peace--mainly for the V6
Formal presentation but straight to the point. 🙂
At least he was honest about the engine not sounding good and seeming out of place.
Then he will never buy one if he does not likes the engine
@@gorillaplays8926 right. It's the most important part of the car
I was going to ask what ppl mean by the engine sound. Is that related to performance? Is it too loud? I thought quieter engines are good? Honest questions. Not looking to make any points for or against.
I don't care what the engine sound is,as long as it drives ok
I love how the infotainment screen is not sticking up high like a laptop.
Hi Brian! Glad to see you’re still reviewing cars :)
Great review
Excellent video!😸
Chevrolet Traverse can be the world's #1 SUV in the America & all around the world!🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🛣🛣🛣🛣🛣🛣🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍
Great review. I like the exterior design and the infotainment setup, but the rest of the interior looks a little bland. I had a 1st Gen GMC Acadia with the 3.6L V6 and it had quite a few problems. I hope this new Turbo4 is more reliable. If I’m in the market for a SUV I’ll check this one out while shopping.
What is the seat comfort like, both front and middle row comfort specifically?
A new face…well done Brian.
Do the rear doors open 90 degrees?
I love that Red RS and that the one I would get.
Nice video but I think your MPG figures are incorrect as in this application, 2 wheel vs all wheel drive doesn’t make that big of difference on the efficiency. Usually 1MPG below all 3 categories making this traverse 19 city 26 highway not sure what the combine is another video mentioned these figures which made much more sense. The Z71 give 19 city 24 highway with AWD
I don't know what it is with people throwing such a big fit because a car's engine doesn't happen to sound exactly like a traditional V6 or V8. You have to remember that a turbocharged four-cylinder is always going to sound different compared to a traditional, naturally aspirated engine. Also, is it really necessary to include such a subjective opinion in an objective car review, I mean what may sound refined to one person's ears may sound horrible in another. Personally, i think the new Traverse looks so much better compared to the previous generation's generic design, and the interior is light years ahead in terms of technology, fit and finish, and design.
It’s because a 60 degree V6 cylinder engine is inherently smoother running and more refined than an inline 4 cylinder engine by design. It’s also quieter.
Since inline 4-cylinder engines have historically been used in smaller, cheaper vehicles, the noise and behavior of 4-cylinder engines is associated with smaller, cheaper vehicles and therein lies the disconnect.
If you're not a gear head...you don't understand. 🙄🙄
I am just happy. It has wireless CarPlay.
Really nice SUV
Just bought an all black RS today. :)
I ‘meemba Brian from Alex on Autos channel! It’s been a minute…
I thought that if a car was released this late into the auto year (basically 2024.5), that they just put it as the next car year (2025)...?
Car year normally begins in August or September of the previous year. Example, I bought my first generation KIA Soul Sport in August of 2009 as the initial 2010 model year.
They revealed it last year so technically that made it a 2024 model year. But yes, other cars coming out around now are being slated for 2025 models.
@@kbb Ahhh okay
Majority of these bigger vehicles have 4 cylinder it just all comes down to which one is better
The mazda 2.5 has been quite reliable. Wonder how gm's 2.5 will hold
Bring back the front row bench seats and bench 2nd row for z71 and RS :)....
So .. Micah is completely gone from KBB now I'm guessing?
He might be behind the scenes but he has his own review channel that’s doing pretty well
Micah moved up the KBB ladder. He's more the manager behind the scenes guy now, but as @KJVirander mentioned, Micah has a UA-cam channel of his own that is very good.
Micah is the boss of the video team, and as already stated, he still does the on-camera thing for his own personal channel. Thanks to popular demand, we are trying to think of fun ways to incorporate him back into our videos here and there. Stay tuned!
woah!!
Criticizing the Traverse for not having a hybrid powertrain is really bizarre in this context. There are fewer hybrids in this segment than not. Pointing to speculation that the next Palisade will MAYBE be a hybrid is a very weak argument.
Hyundai is currently building an EV manufacturing plant in Savannah, Ga., that I'm sure if need be, they could produce Hybrids as well. Especially if the whole EV market shits the bed!
@@williamguillIII*gm* already has EV plants up and running and could easily build a Traverse EV and have it in production long before Hyundai even gets a hybrid powertrain in the Palisade and on the roads. Kelley Blue Book has historically been very crucial towards the general.
@@williamguillIII that’s not really the point. The criticism itself was strange. He knocks the Traverse for not being a hybrid, then he knocks it later on for not having a good V6 soundtrack anymore. The new powertrain is still more powerful and efficient than the outgoing model. Choose a narrative.
And it's not easy to make a hybrid for this segment
Yeah enjoy your garbage 21 mpg, while the Grand Highlander gets 36 mpg. Enjoy your full ups!
Doesn’t he review and edit for Alex on autos??
So there is no high country trim, but will there be a high country trim in the future
They neither confirmed nor denied this possibility.
Premier trim is coming in 2025
Wrong! The GMC Acadia has gone upmarket and now it satisfies that premium luxury space. The Buick Enclave has also gone upmarket and it is now full on luxury, I think that’s why there’s no need for a High Country trim.
@G-Rated I think Buick just debut the complete redesign Enclave and GMC's new Acadia looks nice but I'm still waiting for the next Gen GMC Terrain.
High country and premier are coming for 2025
Son of Alex on Autos
Absolutely no mention of the transmission
Exactly! My POS 2018 has been in for service 4 times for the transmission and has it's 3rd torque converter in it with only 85K. Dealership quoted me $11K to just replace it at this point with GM offering 20% assistance.... woohoo, thanks for nothing GM!
Torque converter replaced at 60K and 80K on 2013 Acadia Denali. Currently replacing the transmission at 120K.
Newly revised 8-speed transmission. Gone is the 9-speed! Thank you Jesus.
@@G-Ratedthe 8 speed is just the 9 speed without the top gear
@@jacobyo99 nope, they’re different transmissions.
Why do reviewers forget to mention Ford or Lincoln competitive offerings. I doubt anyone who is shopping for American brands wants a Hyundai POS.
Noted. We'll make sure we include the other Americans when when call out competitors. Thanks for the comment.
That just shows how competitive this segment had become. While there’s nothing wrong with the explorer it just doesn’t have that wow factor it use to have. They’ll always sell high volume of the explorer due to having one of the largest dealership networks in the county.
Lincoln technically is Ford tho 🤔
Calling other brands crap while talking about Ford and Chevy is laughable. 😂
@@TheUMIA I speak from direct experience not assumed stereotypes. Hyundai and Kia are crap. VW was the 2nd worse and Honda was down there as well. Mazda about average for quality. I’ve owned multiples of all these. Ford has been the most reliable car I’ve owned and that’s also including multiple Toyotas which have also been very good as well.
What’s standard features?
Everything is included in the price , that’s is more expensive than before.
I have a 2016 dodge durango with V8 . I loooove the exhaust sound
Thinking of replacing it before it gives me too many issues. Right now it has 126k KM
Nissan pathfinder is too small inside and I think the dashboard material and leather is bad quality
Honda pilot looks old and too expensive (64k $ in my country for full options)
We do not have grand highlander and the normal highlander is too small and the engine is under powered for my taste
Kia and hyundai are not reliable (the AC sucks and we have extreme weather)
VW teramont (Atlas) is 4 cylinder and no dealership is near my house so maintenance could be very hard
Mazda CX90 full option has captain chair and I want a bench in the second row
I want a daily driven car and I am thinking of 3 options
1- Sell the durango and buy a new mid size SUV but the prices went to high and I don't see any car that is 100% in my eyes
2- Buy a used 2022-2023 Yukun AT4 or Denali at the same budget around 65k $ but it might be tiring to drive a big SUV daily
3- Keep the durango and maintain it and buy a small car around 26k$ like maza CX30
What should I go for?
I really hope this doesn't mean Mike Danger and Lyn Woodward have moved on in some way...
Not at all. Just adding to the team!
@@kbb whoohoo!!!!!! it was tough for me when Zach moved on, you guys have been my favorite review crew for a decade now.
This doesn't look like a KBB review video from the photography standpoint, not in a good way.
Sometimes it takes a second to figure out how the new system works!
Where is Idris Elba...?
None of them have any fog lights.
58K, wow, no thanks, I'll wait 2, 3 years and get it for half price.
Yeah, add a few thou and go for a tahoe!
You mean add $25,000 for a comparably equipped Tahoe. Your math skills are a bit shaky.
Thanks but no thanks at these prices.
GM fwd 4 cylinders are always really reliable….
I never had any issues with the one that was in my 2014 Chevy Malibu 2LT. Had it up until about 125k miles. Was naturally aspirated though.
Chevy Cruze anyone 😂
Underwhelming updates in an effort to broaden its suburban appeal. That price isn't it, but time will tell if it worked or not though.
Where is Micah?
Love the new blood. The other two hosts are getting a bit tired.
The other host are journalists first. Not gear heads. That is part of the problem. This dude did a much better job.
Just a different approach. We actually make videos for people who are interested in buying cars, not necessarily gear heads, so we try to keep things top line and understandable to a normal consumer.
Turbo 4 bangers+towing ain’t it
This only applies to turbo 4 cylinders? Care to explain the logic behind this?? 🤡
Off Road? That was a typical campground road or driveway for some.
It was certainly underwhelming considering how much they touted it as a serious off-roader.
Yet another great looking SUV ruined by swapping the V6 fir a turbo 4
The only player that comes to mind that went up from 4 to 6 cylinders is the Mazda with the cx 90. The “tuning community “ already has these things installed with some goodies and on the dynos. I find this extremely interesting. A new inline 6 opens up a lot of possibilities.
Man you ain't wrong. GM should have kept the V6 as an option. Very marginal fuel economy difference
The 3.6 is a shitty engine lots of issues.
Great, they are copying a Kia. Way to go General Motors
You mean Kia that came to N. America and totally copied *gm’s* twin brand strategy offering basically the same vehicle in 2 different flavors under different model names? They literally took the vertical signature LED lighting from Cadillac and their single glass pane curved displays and threw them inside of Hyundai/Kias. Now you’re here claiming the general is the one copying the South Koreans. lol 🤡
Who wants to spend $ 60k on chevy guys? crickets .
No worries, in a few months after coughing the $60 K you'll sell it on Copart for $5000 after the engine or transmission, or both die and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Hyperbole much???
@@trumpisastump9382 You go ahead and pay $60k for a Traverse.Let me know how if it's worth it. I'll wait.
Or just wait a few months for the discounts to kick in.
The AWD LS with the Midnight Edition Package is only $42,000 and it looks really nice and still has a lot of the same features.
