Wanna go 8 deep? Furst 4th year at Purdue TKR 4th year at Purdue Braden 3rd year at Purdue Fletcher 3rd year at Purdue Heide 3rd year at Purdue Berg 3rd year at Purdue Waddell 3rd year at Purdue Yes, the team has a few freshman that may see 8-10min per game. What team doesn’t!? Even last season Purdue had that.
Watching Painter for his entire career, it's worth noting that Painter rarely (if ever) calls his shot like this on a player unless that player has a) already done it or b) is about to come on strong. He doesn't throw fluff around.
Purdue fans, sleepers says stuff simply to engagement farm you. Quit feeding into it. You are paying their bills with engagement. Make them actually work for their money.
His 3’s would often come at the end of large runs. They would cap it off and usually end up with a timeout immediately following. They’re not wrong in saying that
I think now that he’s the guy in the front he will play a lot more loose. Just watching him play last year in Europe when he was the dude on the court he looked completely different. I know the competition level isn’t the same but I never saw him force anything like he’s been known to do at Purdue.
TKR at the 4 spot, with a decent 7+ foot dude at center for Purdue AND every other player improving quite a bit? That TKR is really really good. Now the TKR that plays center and is the tallest Purdue player on the floor? That TKR scores a lot, but Purdue is an average team. So I see it as this. If TKR is the centerpiece of the team, he will put up some great numbers, but Purdue as a team will be worse. If he puts up very good numbers but isn't the centerpiece of the team, then Purdue will do a lot better.
How are you gonna sit here and act like it’s crazy for a team to have 2 all conference players? They literally had 2 first team all conference players last year when the one was taking like 15 shots a game, not to mention the 2 honorable mention all conference guys in Loyer and Jones if I’m correct in that. They can easily do that again, with Smith being a sure all American and all conference player (likely POTY) and with TKR in a featured role likely getting 14 ish ppg and 8 or so rebounds - yeah, in most years that’s an all conference player. Might be tougher with the conference largely expanding but - it’s definitely possible, with one of either Cam or Myles (even Loyer too) likely making the HM list
I've always been a bit biased against tkr because I tend to like a 4 more in the stretch mold, ala Hummel or Vince Edwards. But, I do think tkr will have a good year, not sure all conference
Well TKR stepping up & replaceing eddey is the biggest is the biggest off season joke in college basketball but that's kinda the breeze that I am getting .... I think Gillis was better than TKR but smaller a-hah ( here size matters) ..... some how painter couldn't take care of Gillis ...... Gillis numbers were quite a bit better than TKR ........ TKR really didn't see deffense yet how he will see it this season ... the defense was focused on eddey ....... his average looked like a good bench player or rotation guy ..... other than that he is gonna get the ball & put up the shots this season or be replaced ..... last years numbers will put him into a rotation guy ....... now I've seen many purdue players getting stepped over but , I guess not TKR or Braden ...... there last season numbers will not cut it
Braydon Smith is an excellent point guard, no doubt about that. But after seeing Myles Rice games last season, that was his first and Braydon's second. Therefore I expect more bump from Myles next season. He scored 14.8 points and led Washington State to a tournament win last go around. Both point guards are extremely intelligent and capable of leading a team. Not one single PU fan acknowledges how fast and quick Myles is. He had many two handed dunks and can change speed and direction like a great NBA guard, Go IU
Rice might be able to score more than Smith, and maybe throw in a few dunks in the process, but doubt he comes close to matching Smith's overall production and impact on the game across the board.
I think rice is fine but it isn’t hard to see why people are higher on Smith than Rice. Smith almost doubled Rices assist and rebound rate. Rice scored more but in a much faster tempo offense which helps for stat accumulation. According to bartorvik rice was the 3rd best player on his own team so it isn’t like he was willing his team to a tournament run. Smith also had a much harder strength of schedule than rice so he was doing it all against better competition. I think Rice is good but Braden was an elite top 3 point guard last year and his usage is expected to increase. Also this is a video about TKR??
I’ve watched all the tape on Rice and Carlyle. The biggest adjustment they will have to make is playing against guys who actually defend all game every game. There is a lot of loafing on D in the PAC 10. They will also have to used to not playing in gyms that sub for morgues.
He came in as a pure post scorer and earned his spot last year by becoming a max effort guy. I think he’s a guy that operates best mentally as a focal point and he’s going to turn the corner this year.
I've never understood it either. I think the closest Purdue comp for TKR is Trevion Williams. Trevion was bigger, faster, a better scorer, better passer and better rebounder than TKR. TKR is pretty slow and not very athletic compared to Malik Reneau and other bigs in the league. TKR likely to get into foul trouble or be dominated down low, he's not good on defense. He has some nice moves but seems he travels or loses his balance often when making moves. He will probably get a lot of scoring chances, so maybe that's why Painter thinks he will make all conference, but he doesn't convert FT. I think him at center too big a liability on defense as he's not a shot blocker.

Furst 4th year at Purdue
TKR 4th year at Purdue
Braden 3rd year at Purdue
Fletcher 3rd year at Purdue
Heide 3rd year at Purdue
Berg 3rd year at Purdue
Waddell 3rd year at Purdue
Yes, the team has a few freshman that may see 8-10min per game. What team doesn’t!? Even last season Purdue had that.
Waddell’s 4th year at Purdue. He came in with TKR/Furst
Watching Painter for his entire career, it's worth noting that Painter rarely (if ever) calls his shot like this on a player unless that player has a) already done it or b) is about to come on strong. He doesn't throw fluff around.
To clarify, I believe on TKR player ranking show Joe & I said ceiling was first team but something like third team more likely.
Purdue fans, sleepers says stuff simply to engagement farm you. Quit feeding into it. You are paying their bills with engagement. Make them actually work for their money.
Are you forgetting about heide and colvin?
Omar Ballo has like a 30% FT percentage I don't think anyone is taking him over TKR
Squeaky Deeky come on
TKR hits a big 3?
He was 8-24
Confusing Gillis & TKR?
Yeah. I think he was definitely thinking Gillis #masonmatters
His 3’s would often come at the end of large runs. They would cap it off and usually end up with a timeout immediately following. They’re not wrong in saying that
TKR is very cerebral. If he can not overthink things the skys the limit.
I think now that he’s the guy in the front he will play a lot more loose. Just watching him play last year in Europe when he was the dude on the court he looked completely different. I know the competition level isn’t the same but I never saw him force anything like he’s been known to do at Purdue.
The only MP take that turned out wrong recently
Morton is the best passed he’s ever recruited
Paint doesn’t say shit about fletch because he wants teams to forget about him so he light them up lol

There’s a lot of bigs that already post 14 and 8. That’s the crazy part.
I've always been a bit biased against tkr because I tend to like a 4 more in the stretch mold, ala Hummel or Vince Edwards. But, I do think tkr will have a good year, not sure all conference
Find a clip of MR rebounding of playing defense?

Rice isn’t shit compared to Braden

Smith is a better passer , defense , shooter but yeah go off on rice. I like rice btw. But smith is an all American
As a diehard Purdue fan I don't understand the TKR hype. I never had, don't understand why Painter loves him so much.
He came in as a pure post scorer and earned his spot last year by becoming a max effort guy. I think he’s a guy that operates best mentally as a focal point and he’s going to turn the corner this year.
Maybe because Painter knows more about basketball than you? Just think about it.
