How do we take the fixed object distances or starting object distances for lens and mirror with different focal length?

@lonelybird3185You have to take a value which is 1.5 times that of the focal length as the object distance. This is applicable for both lens and mirror. For eg if f= 10 cm then the starting object distance should be 15 ( 10*3/2) and the rest should be the multiple values.Hope its now clear

Not necessary I think,but to find rough focal length we may need to if the question ask specifically for it.also we use that to increase double of focal length to get the first value of disantace (u) and then increasing it by 3 or 2(he increased 3 values for the further readings
