  • Dr. Philip Cordova demonstrates how chiropractic care helped 2 of the patients at CORE Chiropractic in Houston, Texas. We take spinal x-rays to look out for any reason that you wouldn't be able to receive adjustments and to help us determine the best course of your care. We take post-treatment x-rays to verify that your spine has improved and to make any modifications to your care that may be needed.

    Great video doc, what time frame is the average for these sorts of curve to get improved in this way? I know it will vary but can you give a rough mean and STD? Also, was this just adjustments or did you have them use a Denneroll or similar? Thanks in advanced and keep up the good work!

      We do post x-rays after about 3 months of treatment. Home care exercises are provided and recommended. We use a neck wedge, similar concept to denneroll.

    Hello Doc, fellow ChiropracTOR here. Love your video, very well done. Referred a person to you visiting the area. Husband may call, his wife is having pre-natal issues, baby is having trouble and she is approx 1/2 way there. Would you please contact me? I would love to discuss your curve degree measurements please. I have been using Gonstead markings. You speak truth in a beautiful, quiet way and i can see exactly how people get well under your care.

    If a patient has “minor” disc bulges in the cervical spine can they still be adjusted and can they also use a denneroll?

    • @COREChiropracticHouston
      @COREChiropracticHouston  2 роки тому

      I can't give that kind of advice without an exam and/or seeing what you mean by minor. Typically, however, if it hurts don't keep doing it.

      Gotcha. It doesn’t hurt but I do get a bunch of popping and cracking while lying on it and for a little but after using it. Painless pops but new to me.

    so how has chiropractic adjustments improved these patients postures? How can you rule out that it wasn't posture coaching, skeletal muscular strengthening, or stretching. How can you prove that an improvemnt on the shapes of someones spine is linked to chiropractic adjustements?

    • @COREChiropracticHouston
      @COREChiropracticHouston  5 місяців тому

      It's never just the adjustments, chiropractic care in our office involves adjustments + home posture exercise + changing bad habits. Just doing one of those won't get it done.

    What about chiros that don't do X rays? Can they still be legit? I'm a massage therapist so my work always makes me feel sore 😢 I'm currently seeing 2 Drs. That work at more of a franchise location and no x-rays..

    • @COREChiropracticHouston
      @COREChiropracticHouston  8 місяців тому +1

      It's not that they're not legit, they just have a different philosophy and approach. We have just found we get better results (and more consistent results) for our patients when we use the information we get from x-ray on every adjustment.

      26 years of clinical experience tells me otherwise. Just taking an x-ray is not helpful if you're not using that data to help with your adjusting.

      @@COREChiropracticHouston "26 years of clinical experience" does not equal peer reviewed studies. "We know people are getting better by blasting their head and neck with unnecessary radiation and billing their insurance to the moon and back for it so we make a crap ton of money." You're right, people are getting better- YOU, because you're getting rich off of baseless claims that aren't backed by any reliable medical studies. I'm sure the only studies you read (IF you read any studies) are ones that confirm your biases. You're an absolute quack, "doctor".

    Rubbish, no evidence to prove better outcomes when X-rays used. This video probably demonstrates no more than a patient X-rayed at times when different amounts of apparent protective muscle spasm. Don't know if this was case of acute or chronic pain, but evidence based care states that for chronic pain, home exercises should be used, and for acute pain the patient will probably get better with the use of over the counter pain killers or no treatment at all! X-raying routinely will expose many patients to unecessary harmful radiation, and costs. X-rays should only be used by Chiropractors when pathology suspected. If symptoms of disc injury with motor deficit or stenosis suspected, the patient should be referred for MRI scanning and not X-rays, because scans will show areas of disc bulging and X-rays won't. Scans will demonstrate areas of canal narrowing much better than X-rays.

      I checked Pub Med, and it confirms that chiropractic care can in fact lead to these results.
