I love how his gear indicator desyncs and then gets stuck in "R" at around 0:23, and then just stays in R for most of the run
This proves that "R" is actually for Race Mode!

This car handles like a go-kart!
1:07 The tail is coming out before the hairpin then it quickly rotates the other way into the hairpin.
    Beautiful driving.

That looks such a well developed machine, enough power to upset the balance of the chassis in low speed corners, not too much to make it frustrating in the higher gears. Perfect 👌

What I find so endearing about Christian Darani's Fiat X1/9 is that he has taken a rather maligned (at least here in the U.S.A.) budget sports car that in stock form out of the crate was riddled with all manner of quirks and transformed in to a beautiful purpose-built tenacious hill climb machine! AND, Christian wrings it out to it's limit!
Makes me think of Steve Morris (Steve Morris Engines) here in the U.S.A. and his purpose-built 3,500lb. (1,587kg.) Buick Roadmaster Station Waggon powered by his own 5,500hp Billet Aluminum Twin-Turbo V-8 (engineered and manufactured by Steve Morris himself) hurtling along the 1/4-mile drag strip tripping the lights at 240mph+ ~ 250mph+ in the low-6 second range (this season, with some new upgrades on his Waggon, Steve is reaching for the 5s). Already the fastest "street legal drag n' drive" car in the World, Steve is upping the bar.
I LOVE seeing these rather obscure cars turned in to formidable racing machines!

      @markbowden7238 Рік тому

You might be interested in the search results for 'list of cars by dallara'
I don't know if Darani's car is an original Dallara Icsunonove.
There is a bike engine build by Polini Racing for Davide Cironi here on UA-cam also at least 2 other cars with D2 engines eg Mauel Dondi, Gianluca Ticci.
You maybe know cars like the Audi IMSA or Alfa 156V6, both were DTM championship winners but before DTM the Alfa 155D2 was competitive.
The works D2 motors had Hewland or X-Trac sequential boxes and can make 375bhp.
It's basically the final iteration of the Lampredi twin cam, something like a Delta Integrale motor but naturally aspirated with an Alfa 16V head instead of a Fiat/Lancia 16V head.

It´s possible, but we never got the full confirmation from the driver. Our bet is that is that it is using a LAmpredi block, but mixed with some more exotic Engine Head (possibly motorbike).

      @@HillClimbMonsters if the stats are correct - 280 rwhp NA 2-litre -
then factoring 25% transmission loss, equals 350bhp.
probably a Fiat/Lancia/Alfa (Lampredi) iron block/ alloy head
      DOHC 16V eg Lancia Thema/Delta/Fiat Stilo/Croma/
      Alfa Romeo 155
