I came here from the "Responding to hate comments" video, and I don't understand how anyone could criticize this performance. I love every second of it! Even Disturbed like the song! You both kick ass!
Well, I kinda can see why people would get critical. A lot of people are saying that this sounds like Disturbed feat. Evanescence and I have to admit that I don't think that her Amy Lee (head-)voice fits that song perfectly. It's like with the Toxicity cover with were the vocal start just threw me off oh so slightly. I still love both covers and especially in the refrain when Violet uses her chest voice that goes perfectly together with Ai's growls. Maybe just a matter of taste with those two songs and certainly not worth trying to create a shitstorm, though. But if I had to do a top 20 list of Violet's best performances, I don't think either cover would make it. Too many other covers where she's just flawless. Still waiting for her to do another Tarja-era Nightwish cover :)

По моему это глупость, рассуждать кто лучше, или хуже исполнил.Вокал обеих девушек подчинён одной общей цели в этом прочтении. Если исключить одну из вокальных партий, шедевр просто развалиться. А хейтерам можно сказать, что они лгут, что дрянь получилась. Они бурно реагируют, а значит зацепило. Музыкальный мусор никто бы и не заметил.

Honestly, Ai Mori’s voice is perfect for the bridge. Here her voice sounds angry and a little demented which is really good for a song about rage and madness. Great cover, gals!!
Her voice has amazing range, she can sing low and demented like in this song or higher and sweeter like others. You should check out her channel if you haven't. It's mostly in Russian but some amazing covers.
That's what I like about bands like Sirenia or Epica and symphonic metal in general. The contrast between the two vocalists and the orchestra against metal guitars and drums is amazing.

I have to point out this vastly underrated thing. Violet is the perfect person to represent the human side of this song, the side that's struggling with everything while Ai's look is the perfect way to capture that manic side, the demon that's causing or at the least embracing the insanity. I love it so much.
Forgot to mention. I had a bartender named Devin at bw3 who I gave a hundred dollar tip during a manic episode of myself. Good to see she put that money to good use. 🤟
This performance really does come across like a split personality caused by childhood trauma. Like an innocent who's vulnerable and can't express or deal with the anger or pain inside (orlandi) , so a monster arises within her (mori). A monster who is willing to protect the innocent from the pain they can't express by insisting they let that hate "flow into me" so the monster can express it outwardly and destructively- thereby saving the innocent from imploding. Masterpiece.

Violet's cleans are exactly Amy Lee. It's almost creepy, like she stole Amy's larynx at 0:53. I remember falling asleep to Fallen in college (it had just come out; I'm old), and I have that voice memorized. I'd love to hear a cover of Imaginary, or My Last Breath.

Even comparing this to the live show, this is just amazing. You did it, and I'm awestruck. Didn't think the intro would be nearly as good as it was. Amazing job.

This song is VERY HARD to pull convincingly with a female voice. The fact that you girls succeeded in doing just that only prove just how talented you are. I applaud you.
Orlandi's voice makes sound more like an Evanescence song than a Disturbed song, though. And Ai Mori's grunt is probably about as masculine as a normal female voice can sound. IMO it's the combo of both very different but compatible voices that makes this sound pretty unique and even preferable to the original.

Don't get me wrong, I really like her, but Maria Brink probably has the best female screamo voice of all time, if no the best period. Her doing this song with Brink would have been omfg amazing. And Ai Mori's grunt is probably about as masculine as a normal female voice can sound.
IMO it's the combo of both very different but compatible voices that makes this sound pretty unique and even preferable to the original.
