Hey Skipper, loving your reviews of all the different mid lengths. It’s difficult to buy boards by Lovelace down here in Oz. What other boards do you think are similar to the feel you get from the FM?
Thank you, Zack for watching. You will love it 🤙🏼 Btw, Ryan Lovelace commented recently on my IG and mentioned that the FM should be surfed head high and up to actually get what the design offers😜 Cheers!
@@seraajregal4663 hey man! The beaver looks fun. It could be a good hybrid between shortboard and middy. If I see one for a good price, I’ll grab it for review🤙🏼

Hi, love your reviews as you review lots of boards that suit the conditions where you surf. Your ability ti relay information is a credit ti you. There are mixed bag feedback on a board that may really suit you. It’s by an Australian shaper Geoff McCoy, it’s the McCoy nugget ( 3 fin or single ) or Astron Zot. ( single fin) a coupe of guys around SanDiego swear by them, you look at them ( big volume, chunky rails) and can’t believe how they go when surfing them. I would love to see you review one of these, you may be well surprised. Sizing is critical though, check it out. Keep up your great work.
Thank you, Stephen for your feedback. Much appreciated. I will definitely check it out. It might be hard to get one now. Not many boards are in stock. I also heard the prices on boards will go up soon. Cheers!
Hey man! It’s hard to say, they are all different but in general, they are mostly used friendly with good foam up front for easy paddling and catching waves. Hope this helps!
Hi. I love your reviews. I find them extremely helpful. Any chance you might look at the Red Baron or anything form the JS line? I've got the OG Monsta Box in Hyfi which I really like. But I'm curious about the Red Baron, particularly for weaker surf. My Monsta Box is best when it's at least 3 foot. I'm looking for something fun for those slightly smaller days.
@@SkipperSurfReview Thanks for the speedy response. Obviously, that's NOT the JS I want you too look at. But it's all good! Lol. Maybe if you like the Big Baron you'll go down the JS rabbit hole. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to that review. 🤙
You might start getting more engagement from shapers and manufacturers Your reviews are valuable for most surfers and very insightful And, based on the comments, your advice is leading to people making purchases
100%. I purchased this board after chatting with Yuri about it! He is very knowledgeable, and has a similar skillset to mine, so therefore it is super valuable to me.
They are completely opposite. ThickLizzy is a solid mid length/glider for cruising down the line mostly.. extending your ride and milking the wave LOL. You will need to take time to set up for a turn. It's not as quick as FM which comes with more performance. It's got a shortboard feel when you need it. For instance, if you have 6'5 FM then I would get 7'10" ThickLizzy unless you are very lightweight and then you can go for a smaller ThickLizzy for sure. Hope this helps.
@@JB-sg4qr anytime! Please let me know how it goes if you end up getting one. My friend has been liking his FM 6’8” that he got custom last summer. He’s been enjoying but it needs more wave. Like if its 1-2 ft surf, he rather bring his keel fish… and use FM when it’s 3ft+ 😁
@@SkipperSurfReview this is helpful feedback, thanks. There's an FM for sale here, at 7'0". Do you think it'll still be the case (e.g. compared to a Lizzy and smaller twins like the album plasmic), of needing a 3ft+ wave before it works well?
Great review, thanks! Ordered one at 6’5-6’6 through glide. Stooooked!

Hey buddy! This one was a one off shape. Did you look into NPJ Duo? That could be a fun board to try.
Stoked on this! I have a 6'9 FM heading to me later this week
Congrats!!! Let me know how it goes!
Looks like a great mid length board that hits a lot of boxes in terms of conditions. Thank you, Yuri!!
Indeed! Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🤙🏼
Love your reviews, Yuri! Keep it up!
Thank you, Tara! Much appreciated 🤙🏼
Great review!! I'm going to take your advice and go with 6'5". Thank you, Skipper!

Wow amazing review. Love ryan’s boards
Thank you, bruddah!
Great review

Could you review or give me your opinion on the firewire greedy beaver? I haven't seen you review it in any of your episodes I've watched yet

Hi there, within all the Lovelace boards which are the main differences that you found surfing them?

Thank you, Peter. I’ve just got JS Big Baron. Will review it as soon as I get waves on it😁

U need to try a bigger fm. I have a 7’8 that is insane with the true Ames Lovelace set of fins. Nvs sucks bc g10 so stiff.
When I get a chance I’ll try😜 thanks for the feedback!

wish these were in australia..!!
How does this board compare to the thick lizzy? Curious if there would be any overlap in my quiver or if the fm would stand on its own?
