Thank you for watching! 🥰 It sounds like. Got Dragonfly at a good time then!! "compelled to buy the sequel" literally 😂 I'm trying to be better at reading the 1st book in a series before buying the rest...but when the covers are cool it's so much harder to resist LOL I saw the Belladonna reprint, she's so pretty!! 😭 I can't bring myself to buy the book again, so I'm annoyed that I didn't realize the hardcovers had cool designs before I got the paperbacks. At least I have Wisteria 🙃 lol I've got a ton of fall books that I never got around to last year, so if I'm going to go on a ban I feel like this will be the best time...we'll see 😬🤞🏻 Which of the subscriptions is your favorite?? 👀 I've been wanting to sign up for one, but can't decide 🤔📦📖✨
@@jenseereads it’s just common sense to read the first book, or at the very least a good portion of it, before buying any sequels. when it comes to books i seem to lack common sense completely. and when i buy special edition sets of a series i’ve never read, after the joy and giddiness returns to normal levels, i sometimes even worry starting to read the series - because what if i don’t like it. 🤦🏼♀️ i really need to rid myself of that unnecessary FOMO. the books can still be read, even when all special editions and hardcovers have sold out. and the content will be a good time, even when the outside doesn’t have any bells + whistles. but, you know, shiny.. ugh! 🤣 as you’re US based, have you had a look at owlcrate? i try not to pay too much attention to owlcrate because i’m in europe and i’m sure the shipping rates will be eye watering. but i think i’ve heard with half an ear that they will (or just have/are in the process of?) be specializing their subscriptions further and then delivering in larger intervals (as opposed to every month). that might be worth a closer look. apart from the broken binding (ships from UK only, so probably not for you) i think the longest waitlist is with fairyloot. i believe those waitlists are in the almost one year range. illumicrate have a very generous skip policy, fairyloot only allows 4 skips for one year after placing your first skip. so, not 4 skips per calendar year, the clock starts running when you activate your first skip. illumicrate just takes issue when you activate your 10th skip in a row. also, don’t know about the US sites, but illumicrate often has past boxes up for general sale on their UK website (and currently even a summer sale with discounts!), so it might also be an idea to not even subscribe and just have a lookout for any specific box you might be interested in. 🤷🏼♀️
@@jennifer_left_a_comment I also lack that same common sense LOL The covers just draw me in and I don't want to miss out!😅😂 I've looked into Owlcrate, Illumicrate and Fairyloot so far. I know I can't afford all of them lol, so I need to only pick one for now, but I have no idea which one to pick 😬 A year long waiting list is crazy, so I might as well sign up for that for the future lol 😋 And I think Illumicrate is the one that I tend to see the most covers that I like, and being able to skip is definitely a benefit! The US Illumicrate shop sucks lol The UK site has WAY more books available, but I don't remember if I would have pay shipping, which would make it too expensive. Hmm...I've got a lot to think about🤔 Thank you for helping me!! 💕

@@jenseereads this is a very good idea, I feel like if you get your room sorted how you like it, and read some of your books, maybe unhaul a couple of them (?) you'll be nicely refreshed for new blood, er books in a couple of months. I have heard so much about some of Riley Sager's books, that I feel like I've read them but I still haven't read any of his books. I also have Survive the Night. How are you liking it?
@@Micmezle I'm definitely going to unhaul some. There's a few that I know I'm just not interested in anymore 🫤. Haha "new blood" ..exactly! 😂 I finished Survive the Night this morning and I liked it! I hadn't heard the best things about it, and I'm not the biggest thriller reader (so maybe take my thoughts with a grain of salt lol), but it gave what I would want a thriller to give; it was engaging, kind of creepy at times, and kept me on my toes.
I read dragonfall and gave it 4.75! I really enjoyed and I met the author at an even t and they were lovely!
Oh yay!! Happy to hear the book was good! But also happy to hear the author was nice! Love to support lovely people ☺️💕
I love second hand. I thrift kids and teen and adult books with own money. I love those I do a kids book and teen and adult book giveway at applebees( 3701 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70002) i have given away 1400 books in 7 months
Oh wow!! That's so cool!!
@@jenseereads I did some videos on it
thank you for sharing your barnes & noble trip! 🥰
dragonfall has been sitting on my shelf for probably a year 🫣 - the sequel, emberclaw, is releasing in march. hope i’ll get around to reading dragonfall before i’m being compelled to buy the sequel 😂
i only recently bought the UK hardbacks of belladonna and foxglove. belladonna got a reprint with a pretty hardback, i believe it is called vault something or other, foxglove, unfortunately, is just a plain hardcover. i also just received the pretty wisteria hardcover. 🥰 ..and haven’t read any of them yet 🫣 however, i think your trade paperbacks will look perfectly fine next to the wisteria hardcover!
voyage of the damned looks and sounds great! i believe i got it with my illumicrate subscription in january, was quite excited for it and still haven’t read it 🤦🏼♀️
i hope you can achieve your book buying ban goal 🤞i’d fail miserably and probably just end up buying more 🤭 i’ve been - completely unsuccessfully - trying to decide which of my subscriptions to cancel and somehow end up with more, or joining yet another waitlist 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
aaaahhhhh, books..
have a lovely day + happy reading! 💜
Thank you for watching! 🥰
It sounds like. At least I have Wisteria 🙃 lol
I've got a ton of fall books that I never got around to last year, so if I'm going to go on a ban I feel like this will be the best time...we'll see 😬🤞🏻
Which of the subscriptions is your favorite?? 👀 I've been wanting to sign up for one, but can't decide 🤔📦📖✨
@@jenseereads it’s just common sense to read the first book, or at the very least a good portion of it, before buying any sequels. when it comes to books i seem to lack common sense completely. and when i buy special edition sets of a series i’ve never read, after the joy and giddiness returns to normal levels, i sometimes even worry starting to read the series - because what if i don’t like it. 🤦🏼♀️
i really need to rid myself of that unnecessary FOMO. the books can still be read, even when all special editions and hardcovers have sold out. and the content will be a good time, even when the outside doesn’t have any bells + whistles. but, you know, shiny.. ugh! 🤣
as you’re US based, have you had a look at owlcrate? i try not to pay too much attention to owlcrate because i’m in europe and i’m sure the shipping rates will be eye watering. but i think i’ve heard with half an ear that they will (or just have/are in the process of?) be specializing their subscriptions further and then delivering in larger intervals (as opposed to every month). that might be worth a closer look.
apart from the broken binding (ships from UK only, so probably not for you) i think the longest waitlist is with fairyloot. i believe those waitlists are in the almost one year range. illumicrate have a very generous skip policy, fairyloot only allows 4 skips for one year after placing your first skip. so, not 4 skips per calendar year, the clock starts running when you activate your first skip. illumicrate just takes issue when you activate your 10th skip in a row. also, don’t know about the US sites, but illumicrate often has past boxes up for general sale on their UK website (and currently even a summer sale with discounts!), so it might also be an idea to not even subscribe and just have a lookout for any specific box you might be interested in. 🤷🏼♀️
@@jennifer_left_a_comment I also lack that same common sense LOL The covers just draw me in and I don't want to miss out!😅😂 I've looked into Owlcrate, Illumicrate and Fairyloot so far. I know I can't afford all of them lol, so I need to only pick one for now, but I have no idea which one to pick 😬
A year long waiting list is crazy, so I might as well sign up for that for the future lol 😋 And I think Illumicrate is the one that I tend to see the most covers that I like, and being able to skip is definitely a benefit! The US Illumicrate shop sucks lol The UK site has WAY more books available, but I don't remember if I would have pay shipping, which would make it too expensive. Hmm...I've got a lot to think about🤔 Thank you for helping me!! 💕
