I enjoyed the heck out of Empire of the Vampire, and it was a lot more funny than I was expecting. I also loved The Nanny, but it's single parent/nanny romance and I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to that trope. this haul was spectacular. I hope you love everything.

People don’t talk about book outlet because in 2020, book outlet tweeted in response to a BIPOC booktuber asking why that they didn’t have more POC (specifically black people) in their old affiliate program, Book Outlet said they only work with “family friendly” content creators and implied that all black people swear or post explicit content. And then they didn’t respond for like 2 months and just removed their program all together because no one wanted to work with anymore.
Also Book Outlet was extremely popular on YT for many years ago, maybe it’s just my age showing but I assumed everyone knew about it. My ignorance to assume.
I LOVE Book Outlet and order from them during their sales all year long. Love getting big boxes of cheap books. I bought Filthy Rich Vampire 1 & 2 from a book store in Missouri months ago (She's a local author) on a whim. It was the only set of books on the local author shelf that was fantasy. And now I guess they are "viral" haha
Empire of the Vampire is a Grim dark fantasy. It was one of my favorite books in from 2022. I loved the haul. That's exactly why I stopped putting myself on book buying bans. I always go crazy after I allowed myself to buy again. Lol
I own cascade failure as well! I have not read it yet but want to soon. It sounds so good and I’ve heard no one talk about it. I didn’t even know there was a second one. I didn’t think it would come out this fast because the first one came out this year in March.

@ you definitely should! It’s not just a book store but it has a lot of good used ones. It is all kind of cheaper things in bulk from other stores but it has an amazing selection of cheap books.
Just found your channel and subscribed. I started ordering from Book Outlet in 2014. Back then the prices were $2-$4.99, often with discounts on orders. I don’t order now because it feels expensive compared to then, and I’m a thrifty girlie. 🤷🏾♀️

Firefly is the Joss Whedon space cowboy series that was cancelled way too early. From your reading of the synopsis of the book it potentially sounds like a great read.

Just a tip from a professional Target book shopper... if you have their app you can scan the barcode on the back of the book. It will give you the online price. Target will then comp the online price. If it is cheaper that is. They also will comp Amazon and Walmart.
@jenseereads Absolutely! Also... Don't sleep on Dollar Tree if you have one local. I got a copy of God's & Monsters at a local Goodwill and then found Serpent & Dove for $1.25 at Dollar Tree. I assumed all their books were old and lame. 🤣 I have found several 2023 and 2024 copyrights. With Target stickers and Reese BC stickers. I'm kinda mad I judged so hard. 🤣🤣

Oh no!! ☹️ I have ZERO tolerance for offensive behavior👎🏻 Thank you for letting me know!! 💕 EDIT: I've been DIGGING to find everything I possibly can on this and here's what I've found [for anyone interested in a follow up]: The initial issue was they didn't have diverse representation. They did apologize and said they will improve moving forward, and as far as I can find it seems like they have. I looked over their website and they do sell and feature a lot of books from bipoc authors, and I've also found a lot of hauls and other videos from many diverse creators within this year.
I also think that they don’t always have a lot of choice in what they can get, because they are buying “leftovers”, but I do think their choice is fairly diverse based on what I’ve purchased from them. i am in Canada and live close to their location in Ontario and I get my books in typically 3 or 4 days at the most. Great delivery and a wonderful selection. I’ve literally received one book that was damaged a bit and it was still minimal. The prices can’t be beat, but they do sell out of their stock quickly so that’s the challenge when buying from them. You have to check their stock regularly because it changes all of the time.
Readers offended by people burning buildings and destroying property and heaven forbid a business say something and it's then considered offensive. Please . .. . Our human society has broken down hope we can recover and learn right from wrong.

I am definitely living under a rock. How did I not know that there is a spin-off series of Kingdom of the Wicked and we are getting all six princes stories?! I have to start reading them and I am looking forward to Greed's story because there were some mysteries surrounding him if I am sure. I did forget a lot of plot in the KOTW series and I hope there won't be much mention of what happened in that book. All the book covers are so pretty and amazing. I really loved the WOLF.E book cover and I am thinking of reading it. Anyways happy reading 💗💗 PS: I read a small town romance book recently and I am in my "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" era 😂😂 And I might start my "Oh I meant the biker" era.
From what I can remember I don't think you need to really remember Kingdom of the Wicked for the spin off books (at least not for the first one). I think it helps to have read KOTW just to know who the princes are and general knowledge of the world, but other than that I think they're meant to be their own stories. I've heard reviews from some people that read the spin off without the original series and they still liked it. And isn't WOLF.E so cool!! I can't wait to read it 👀 I'm totally with you on the "save a horse, ride a cowboy...oh I mean biker" era 😋📖🏍🔥 💕Happy Reading 💕
I always thought you had to have the card to get the sticker discount (the 20-30% off that seem to always be on the books), but I don't think you do. BUT I do think you have to have the membership card to get the sales (like the buy 2 get one free that ends today), which is totally free. I don't shop at Target very often (because the closest one is a million miles away from me lol) so I could still be totally wrong 😅 but that's my understanding of it lol

The book outlet decline happened long before 2020. As publishers sending influencers books picked up as well as ways to make money on UA-cam, the amount of book outlet and goodwill/thrift boom hauls went down. I’m not saying those things didn’t still exist but they certainly went down steadily over the years as those things happened. 2020 may seem to some younger people like what happened but really it was just finishing off the decline they already had in social media.
I wanted to add - I enjoyed your haul, book outlet took over my thoughts 😅 Something I’ve done when trying to control my book buying is buying books for my nieces and nephew. I buy them books anyway but when I’m itching to buy a book I just buy them one, which is technically still buying books so idk 😂

PS: I read a small town romance book recently and I am in my "Save a horse, ride a cowboy" era 😂😂 And I might start my "Oh I meant the biker" era.
From what I can remember I don't think you need to really remember Kingdom of the Wicked for the spin off books (at least not for the first one). I think it helps to have read KOTW just to know who the princes are and general knowledge of the world, but other than that I think they're meant to be their own stories. I've heard reviews from some people that read the spin off without the original series and they still liked it. And isn't WOLF.E so cool!! I can't wait to read it 👀 I'm totally with you on the "save a horse, ride a cowboy...oh I mean biker" era 😋📖🏍🔥

Wait what is this Target discount?? How much off if you get the card?
I always thought you had to have the card to get the sticker discount (the 20-30% off that seem to always be on the books), but I don't think you do. BUT I do think you have to have the membership card to get the sales (like the buy 2 get one free that ends today), which is totally free. I don't shop at Target very often (because the closest one is a million miles away from me lol) so I could still be totally wrong 😅 but that's my understanding of it lol
I legit broke down on Tuesday night and just cried and self loathed over the not future that i will maybe not have, and it scared me and i just freaked out and drama dumped on my discord friend and bestie i believe Firefly is refering to the show unless there´s a book attached to the show...

The book outlet decline happened long before 2020. As publishers sending influencers books picked up as well as ways to make money on UA-cam, the amount of book outlet and goodwill/thrift boom hauls went down. I’m not saying those things didn’t still exist but they certainly went down steadily over the years as those things happened. 2020 may seem to some younger people like what happened but really it was just finishing off the decline they already had in social media.
I wanted to add - I enjoyed your haul, book outlet took over my thoughts 😅 Something I’ve done when trying to control my book buying is buying books for my nieces and nephew. I buy them books anyway but when I’m itching to buy a book I just buy them one, which is technically still buying books so idk 😂
