Wow ! One of the best commercial classics of Indian cinema, we can call it. Everything was so perfect in this movie. And an iconic song, etched in memory of everybody who sees it. Lyrics, Music, the every enchanting voice of Yesudas and Chitra and so matching and perfect was Shobana and the entire choreography. She added life to the song with her big eyes, expression of every emotions and the dance steps. One of the great artistes that Malayalam or for that matter Indian cinema can see. This is the depth of art and talent every heroine needs. But the complete experience of the song can be known only if one sees the movie. Just ultimate. And wow, what a performance of Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent. Such a perfect casting. Can casting be anything better, No! Absolutely No, even the Kannada actor who is the co dancer with Shobana. Movie goers cannot miss it.

Shobhana ma'am had done and amazing job portraying the a normal women who does not know dance but going through a psychological episode to and mental trip she's having where she's the real dancer who died centuries ago in an epics she heard.

The movie also won award for It's sound effects. The movie had 4 great assistant directors as well, viz. Priyadarshan, Sibi Malayil and Siddhique Lal. The re-recording by Johnson is a class apart.

I'll recommend a few older classic songs to react. Old malayalam songs highlights were the lyrics, along with the music. They were very poetic and very well written. My parents gen all know tons of songs by heart. Nowadays the writing is lacking.
