There is an interesting BTS on making this song. It is said that many of the producers and other new comers (mainstream playback singers) started saying that yesudas is no more good to pull of good classical stuffs like he used to do earlier and he is getting out of field from main stream playback. Composer ravindran master was upset and hurt listening, so he decided to make a complex composition just to prove others that K.J Yesudas is still the best. This composition still remains as one of the toughest ever made classical commercial song, it has got everything carnatic, hindustani, gharana, kawali, taranas, tillanas. This song was specially composed by Raveendran to prove the critics wrong. I have heard both Yesudas and Raveendran telling this in their interviews. You are right about it except the ‘comeback’ part🙂.
