Should NEVER split a standing seam and fold it. You'll never get the proper lap, and will always rely on caulking, which is the WORST idea on a metal roof, as expansion and contraction will pop the caulking every single time. Must have slept through that in your apprenticeship training.

@Russell Sanderson it's a leaker. They should've created a lapping joint there to eliminate the holes in the bottom corners of the pans.

I dont think its split, you can see a panel that they havent installed yet and the leg closest to the camera on the last installed panel, 0 cuts all bends. I thought the same thing you did though I thought they snipped the legs to get that fold.

Perhaps the client didn’t buy enough.

@@smugegeez1406 the standing seam is cut. No other way around getting it to bend like that, unless you split the upturned legs of the standing seam. The valley isn't, but it's going to leak, no question about it.

@@smugegeez1406 there's no book on the way they did that halfassed hack job. If you two piece the transition correctly sure. But they didn't, as seen by the male seam clearly being cut to the flat, allowing the panel to bend up the roof.
