Me, loved this song. Always reminds me of a Welsh girl I worked with in the 80’s drop dead gorgeous, she kissed like a maniac on death row, ha the memories
Me and my best mate were a bit stoned one night flicking through music channels (must have been around 2009) this comes on and we were in tears of laughter, it became our anthem and we used to sing it whilst trying to also do the harmonising. He passed a couple of months ago of a brain tumour so this song hits even stronger now ❤
This song was played at my best friend's funeral. We'd kept in touch online, kept meaning to meet up over the years, but life and work always seemed to get in the way. She died suddenly earlier this year, aged only 46. Life is too short.

Loved this at Glasto 2024. So much fun watching this with the crowd belting it out at the pyramid stage. Oh, and Norman Cook popping in for a guest spot playing bass on Happy Hour. Life long memory.
The problems we face as a species haven't changed, nor has the importance of the message in this quite amazingly beautiful song, worked on a video for Paul in Manchester years ago, at JGs house, she was the drummer for the mock turtles. Mr Heaton was a gentleman!!!
This song just struck my head this morning. Have neither heard it or thought of it for decades. Must be the lyrics reaching out to the time we're living in. I never had the single or anything of Housemartins and back then I wouldn't care much, but you couldn't avoid hearing Caravan Of Love daily in 1986. A timeless song of it's time and one of the really nice tunes from the 80's. I think I'll bring it in to the jam-sett, and make it a reggae.
I was 6 when this. Was released. The memories it sparks are warm and fuzzy. Saturday mornings in my pjs, eating sausages and watching early morning tv. Good times.
Saw him for the first time earlier this year in St. Helens. Fantastic concert with the Lathums and the Proclaimers too. Didn't stop raining though. Never been so wet in my life but was worth it. C'est le vie.
I wonder how many 90's+ kids will like this song. There's not much to this song but 80's kids will remember it... Paul Heaton has a very unique and memorable voice
It felt like no one knew about the Housemartins back in 1980's California. I'm a sucker for smart lyrics and was hooked from the start. Paul's writing is so full of imagery and his voice is so distinctive. You can still hear a touch of Housemartins in the first two BS albums. This video is one of my favorites.
Unforgettable, in the late 80es this marked the end of the night in my alternative club, we played a selection of goth, psych, new wave classics to an audience of goths, psychobilly and wavers. Fantastic times and jolly good music. I'm an elder, I know, but we had great fun.

This is my favourite version. Isley Jasper Isley was a very talented group, but the Housemartin's added their British quirkiness, gentle rhythm and harmonious tone. After all those years, what a Classic.
