Finally! Someone who has done what I'm thinking about doing... Yes! I want to take all the back seats out and use all that space for the 'camper'. I oscillate between a van and a 4WD - but I know I love the convenience of being able to drive anywhere, and not worry about getting stuck. It will only be me, so there would be plenty of space. Thanks for sharing.
Instead of a screen for the windows there is a product an Amazon, I think it’s called a window sock, that’s almost like a pantyhose material that slips over the upper window portion of the car door. So it effectively creates a screen on both sides of the door.
Yeah but in the rain, a mess. Must dry sufficiently before storing to prevent mold. Also, many don’t seal sufficiently, leaving saggy gaps to tinker with to ensure no bugs get in. Those mosquitoes bop around to find any tiny hole then tell their community 😉. I like this guy’s method. Reasonable, efficient and simple. Well done.
Love it, genius. I am struggling along with a 17’ outback conversion. My first consideration is that everything thats behind me in a 30mph front end collision with continue at 30mph. Much to think about. Nice job
We have the same exact car!! I was wondering how much was the overall cost?? I’ve been thinking about this for so long!! So exciting to see you make this!!
Lot of interesting ideas, compliments. The only drawback i might point out is that if you create a platform with different levels it will only work for a single user. While if you stay on the same level the double bed is always there, you just need to move things around maybe putting the excess on the roofrack.
i've seen some lady camper doing some hacks but they make things too complicated for a man's mind. this dude made things simplier that works very well.
A very creative, methodical, and simple ideas combined into one excellent project. I learned from your Vlog some simple ideas that can be used to accomplish specific end result. Great Job my friend.
I can sew , but I love the staple gun and magnet idea on your drapes. Woo hoo great idea. And I have a gas one also that drawer idea for a table that slides out is perfect. 💕💕
Best conversion I have seen. I really wish there was a part list you made for this. I have a newer model, but same body style as yours. Going to work on this next week.
I like how you did your screens for the window. Tip. You can buy the dark screens where people can't see in. I will give them a try. Thanks for the idea for the screens.
New Sub, very cool to see how you did this in a suv, we are working on our grand caravan as a camper for spring and summer trips, thanks for the video :)
This is awesome! I wish my Rav was set up like this after my last trip to CO. Would you consider a write up with a parts list at some point? This video is awesome, but I feel like I can't replicate this. Haha
I have not come up with anything other than stuffing the edges of the rug up under the plastic door frame. It does tend to get pulled out frequently though.
Sold...I'll take one in black please. Actually, that is something I wondered; how much do you think you put into that project by the end? Really loved finding this today.
It's a good question. I haven't had to sleep through any really hot nights yet, but with the windows cracked and a fan on me, I have slept through some warmer nights and managed to stay comfortable.
I definitely have to take the platform out but it's not too much of a pain. I usually take the platform out and put the seats back in whenever I'm not going to be camping for a while anyways.
It was so nice to see a real dude do this and to build on a budget. When I saw him use a house stapler I was like finally real ideas.
It was definitely the stapler for me too! Namaste
Honestly one of the best videos I’ve seen so far. Super knowledgeable, all the right mods and tips I wouldn’t think of like rain guards 👍thank you
one of the best car sleep van video in internet :)

Brilliant idea to reuse the bolts and holes! But I am not going to remove my leather backseat and install the kind of permanent bed in the rear.
Like the easy solutions then needing a drill for everything. That generator though was money. Love it.
Dude, the magnet idea for the bug net just changed my life!! 🤗 🇦🇴
This is the nicest build for RAV4, great job ! I would like to see a follow up real camping and any changes or updates you did to it . Subscribed.
I’ve seen many videos on suv conversion and yours was 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Great info and platform set up. Thank you!
Awesome idea for window screens and magnets, something that I already have, thanks.
You are the most amazing you tuber who has the best design of this RAV 4 camper van platform, I will try to have a similar one like yours, Thank You!
Love it, genius. I am struggling along with a 17’ outback conversion. My first consideration is that everything thats behind me in a 30mph front end collision with continue at 30mph. Much to think about. Nice job
That's why I built everything on the passenger side.
Wow. Very nice.
Looks like I could even try to do.
Thx for sharing!

Magnets on the curtains seem to work pretty well. I might borrow that idea to use in a suburban
Love the stapled magnet ideas!!
Especially loved your window screens, simple and effective. Well done. It’ll help.
When he used the staple gun, I was like that is such a dude thing to do. You earned my sub. Lmao.
It's not the staple gun that was amazing - it's the STAPLER. That was a dude hack for sure. Excellent for non-sewers, such as myself.
i've seen some lady camper doing some hacks but they make things too complicated for a man's mind. this dude made things simplier that works very well.
Calling stapler a "Staple GUN" is also such a dude thing lmao :D
Ohhh the screen idea is brilliant and a great idea for the drive in to!!!!
Love the simplicity and creativity. New fan and follower here. Lalaine Lee
Love the screens with magnets. Great build!
Are you lady friend?
This is absolutely brilliant! I was looking to do this to my car. The video quality is excellent, too. I hope you make more.
Thanks so much! Did you end up building something similar?
A very creative, methodical, and simple ideas combined into one excellent project. I learned from your Vlog some simple ideas that can be used to accomplish specific end result. Great Job my friend.
That’s awesome! Great creativity. You should do a follow up video showing any improvements or modifications you’ve made to this build.
Love your design and the carpeting!
What a clever idea 4an easy way to insert the magnets🧲 in the window covers 👏.
I can sew , but I love the staple gun and magnet idea on your drapes. Woo hoo great idea. And I have a gas one also that drawer idea for a table that slides out is perfect. 💕💕
Thank you! I’m highly comsidering turning my SUV into a camper too
Did you end up turning your SUV into a camper?
wow! great job! This is my fav suv bed buld so far! Thanks for sharing:)
Best conversion I have seen. I really wish there was a part list you made for this. I have a newer model, but same body style as yours. Going to work on this next week.
I'm glad you got some inspiration out of this. How did your build turn out?
My only question is, how do you get to your spare tire without pulling the whole bed out?
Beautiful! You're a pro. Thanks for sharing and Happy Trails!
Some really great ideas here I haven't seen elsewhere, Congrats 👍
Love your idea on the windows. Thanks for the video
Not a fan of just using a staple for the window covers, but it's a damn good thing I know how to sew. Thanks for the idea!!!
Definitely sew them in. I'm not a fan of the staples either!
I like how you did your screens for the window. Tip. You can buy the dark screens where people can't see in. I will give them a try. Thanks for the idea for the screens.
Quite some cleverness going on with your build. Great job.
Thanks so much!
I am so impressed, I subscribed. Really nice. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your setup. I drive a RAV4 and have been looking into car camping
I know you’ll be coming with this video sooner or later after seeing dismantling of the whole car in your past videos. Lol. Good job bro.
Really great build. I would not have put carpet on the floor as it traps all of the dust and sand etc. Vinyl flooring would have been better.
This is great! I really needed this i'm gonna convert my 2016 rav4. Thank you for your time and effort!
Thank you very much, very informative video. I will adapt this plan to my 2019 Equinox.
No you ain't no expert, just a freakin' genius!!
Love it cheap and convenient no rooftop tent still can enjoy and feel safer than in tank 🙌🙌🙌😍
Awesome video! Loved how simple you made it look!
How does the power generator work? Did you connect it to charge through the car battery? How long does one charge typically last you?
Wow, I love that. I wish I could do that to my 2016 Toyota Rav4
You can
Great great n its awesomely great...Simple yet practical
Wow...looks so easy...makes me want to do this to my X2 SAV👍
looks great. Probably not healthy to sleep over the generator though, but I guess you could turn it off when you sleep.
Can we get an update, walk around video?
Wow some really cool ideas in your build. Subbed
New Sub, very cool to see how you did this in a suv, we are working on our grand caravan as a camper for spring and summer trips, thanks for the video :)
"Sometimes I have a ladyfriend go camping with me..."
Yeah, no kidding. Gawd dang this is impressive.
Other times, just brings a flesh light!
This is awesome! I wish my Rav was set up like this after my last trip to CO. Would you consider a write up with a parts list at some point? This video is awesome, but I feel like I can't replicate this. Haha
Great job! Happy Camping ⛺️
❤❤❤
That's simply excellent ..
I just love it so much.
Is there a way to seal the lower edges of the rug, so that it is well done, and also keeps bugs from no entering crannies?
I have not come up with anything other than stuffing the edges of the rug up under the plastic door frame. It does tend to get pulled out frequently though.
Thanks for Your Video! So I buy today the same Car and ist so helpful to see your Video!
I really like your set up you built. I was wondering if you are able to sit up in the bed, is there enough head room?
Great job, mate.
U R the king of the road , Mite ....... :)
Sold...I'll take one in black please. Actually, that is something I wondered; how much do you think you put into that project by the end? Really loved finding this today.
Very cool, do you keep a portable shower and toilet
Excellent job! Loved it.
How do you sleep over night in your parked car when the weather is too much hot ?
It's a good question. I haven't had to sleep through any really hot nights yet, but with the windows cracked and a fan on me, I have slept through some warmer nights and managed to stay comfortable.
It's going to be a bear if you get a flat. LOVED the staples. Good build.
Hey, this is great! Would you be willing to post your materials list with measurements? Thanks!
A m a z i n g! Thanks for sharing. I have RAV4 2020 and my dream is convert into mini-suv-van similiar like this. Keep going!!!!
Thank you so much from KSA.
Do you have remove all of that if you need to use your spare tire?
this is a smart design!
Just curious, when you guys gut your car, what do you do with the seats and stuff? Don't tell me you throw them away??
Nice build!
So good. It's amazing... so cool
Nice job!
You are handy! Are you a stagehand? Great ideas.
Nicely done!
Beautifully described...beautiful video.
nice simple build!
I would look into some solar panels.
Very well done 👍... enjoy 😊
Do you disable all lights when hatch is open?
What did you use for your mattress?
Great job and thanks for inspiring rav owners
Nice job! Hope you video the camping too.
GENIUS!
Fantastic job love it well done from the uk.👍🇬🇧🤘🍺
Hope you can get to the Spare Tire!
Great ideal using magnetic

Woah you are super clever - Please come to
New Zealand and build me one hahahaha
Very very cool.
Clever build
brilliant fun to watch
How difficult is it to access your spare tire in an emergency ? Otherwise, this is great!
I definitely have to take the platform out but it's not too much of a pain. I usually take the platform out and put the seats back in whenever I'm not going to be camping for a while anyways.
How and where do you take a dump?
Creative and ingenuity
How long is the bed?
