Michael just introduced myself on your server! I cannot wait to learn more from you and share what I’ve learned to the world! Thanks and have a great and safe day!
I know this is 4 years old. but ive been going through your videos about all types of processing and I can say with confidence that you have the most concise explanations for anything music wise. Much appreciated
In the Mix/Michael, thank you so much for helping my music production. I’m finally getting skilled enough to actually know what you’re talking about. Whoever is reading this, I’m on a journey to build a following by making good music, bringing value, and supporting people. I’m not in it for the money, I’m in it to be a light in people’s lives, to create positive change. I can see myself raising money for charities consistently. I’m currently on year 2 producing. Come see what I got and watch the growth over the years. Supporting me would make my day.
Not all heroes wear capes and here Micheal doesn't wear cape, but for sure he is the hero of every single one of producer both beginner and more experienced ones.
I’ve been doing this ALMOST exactly without even knowing it was a technique, except the fruity send and being able to listen to the track by itself, HUGE
Thank you mate ! You are one of many few who really understand Parallel compression and use a parallel track to do that. Almost 90% of the tutorials made by 'expert' miss the point and use a mix / dry blend pot.
are you kidding me?? the ways in which you have allowed me to improve my production is incredible. I had been watching other production youtubers for years and they honestly all they do is talk way to much about random shit, talk down to anyone not as good as them and make everything unnecessarily complicated. Thank you so much !!!
Of all the producers and mixers on UA-cam that are currently teaching the art. I don't think anyone breaks down a concept or an idea like Michael. Love his explanations.
Great technique! I think this is the secret for those really full and profesional mixes. Another alternative, instead of using sends, is patcher. That way the parallel process is easier (everything in one place), very visual and you can check really quick before and after turning on and off patcher. Great video as always!
Thank you so much! Nice and quick to the point with no rambling. I never knew what parallel processing was in mixing because no one would ever explain it cohesively. But after the video I went back and tried these techniques myself and it works wonders. The potential is limitless!
this is a genius approach to mixing, i've just been stacking plugins in the mixers leading to muddy, sometimes overcompressed tinny results. the way you do it involves much less processing and allows plenty of extra room in the mix for the channel to sit, i appreciate you making a video about it so we can all learn to improve our production skills
The washed out reverb was something I've been struggling with. I searched for new reverbs, it never ocured to me to do it like that, as I'm a beginner. This was exceptionally helpful, thank you so much!
I really dig your videos and I appreciate everything you have taught me. But I just need to mention that I like how it looks like you are constantly thinking about something funny and holding in a laugh. It brings me joy.
This is genius... I wonder why I have never thought about this before. A friend of mine told me that he loves parallel compression and now I know why hahah. Thank you so much for this tutorial, this was explained perfectly!
I really love how you manage your videos. First, a really quick and clear definition of what we're gonna see today Secondly, the video itself with the whole explanation How could you doubt about his knowledge when someone like him just manage his videos like a pro and for free ? My favorite channel that helps me to learn producing by far
Oh, parallel processing is king! Beware of phase issues occurring sometimes with heavy plugins, but otherwise it’s great technique for beefing up your mix 🤘🏻
Always great to see you flying the flag for FL Michael, a lot simply don't learn how to use it properly, your tutorials will help 😉 been using FL since 2004 👍🏼
Ur really good at explaining mixing.... everyone else makes my brain hurt and felt like I didn't learn anything at all..... thanks man appreciate ur effort and help
U made me love FL Studio even more with this video, I didn’t know that way to do Pharallel in FL Studio, The way I was doing it I always had Phase Issues and stopped using it for a while, Thanks for this tip 🔥🔥
Amazing video and straight to the point as usual. So far the best channel i've come across for production tips :) Keep up the good work man, love your work.
I recently started playing with this technique in Patcher. First you route the main signal to a fruity balance then you route the fruity balance to, two individual fruity sends. Next you want to route the first fruity send to the fl studio out for signal flow. Then In the fruity sends select send 1 for the first and send 2 for the second. After that grab two fruity balances and route the fruity sends into the two individual fruity balances. Last and most important you want to right click the fl studio out option and go to inputs and select the effects for you sidechained. If done correctly two routing dots should appear for the side chained effects on the fl studio out. Route the two individual fruity balances with the corresponding effects, it should show you which one in the info box on the top left. Bonus: go into each fruity balance for the individual effects and right click the volume knob and click activate. If done correctly a red dot should appear on the fruity balance. This allows you to automate your effects. Major Key: save this annoying ass routing as a preset lol If y’all got any questions hmu @__marx___ on Instagram
thanks for showing me this, i never side chain, like ever, i usually on the right side of the mixer, where you can add your effects in, i just usually turn it down from there, but this is a cool way to do everything and it sounds good
Great content. One thing to keep in mind though is when sending a copy of say a drum bus, some effects/filtering/whatever could affect the phase and then when you blend back you lose some low end, so it's always good practise to keep that in mind, and often then just switching the phase if that occurs will help with that.
haha. I literally needed to learn this right now. I consolidated my guitar and bass not 30 minutes ago and was looking for a way to add some wide ambience separate from the original. So crazy this was just posted. Great videos Michael. I have learned so much from you and I really appreciate it. I'm on my 2nd project learning as I go. Thx again
It's crazy how useful and interesting your videos are! I just want to say thank you for revealing and explaining all this stuff, it means a lot to us :)
New subscriber here. Your videos are just what I needed. I have been mixing for ages (hobby) and the advanced techniques you present in your videos are just what I needed to improve and get a step higher. Thanks and keep the good work!
Oooh this is perfect, assuming you're able to, considering the lockdown and such, it'd be great if you could make more tutorials on "advanced" mixing techniques! (Or mixing in general!) Thanks for all your informative content and stay safe!

You literally help us learn audio engineering ! Soo lucky to have someone like you on UA-cam ❤️❤️
I’ve been doing this ALMOST exactly without even knowing it was a technique, except the fruity send and being able to listen to the track by itself, HUGE
Parallel compression is amazing. I would love to see a demonstration of this with vocals
Thank you mate ! You are one of many few who really understand Parallel compression and use a parallel track to do that. Almost 90% of the tutorials made by 'expert' miss the point and use a mix / dry blend pot.

thanks for showing me this, i never side chain, like ever, i usually on the right side of the mixer, where you can add your effects in, i just usually turn it down from there, but this is a cool way to do everything and it sounds good
Watching all the way from South Africa 🌍 best channel ever
