Weight block idea: Have the 220AVG in a 3d printed font (different colors too) and have that be the weight block. I want to use mine in competition. Too good to be shelved or just to play around with. I've been in the hunt for a new spare ball. This might just be it except that I won't be able to use it. Needs to be 15 lbs.
It would be cool if you put some mini submersible LED lights in the finger holes and watch the ball light up all sorts of different colors while bowling.

You could maintain the clear/refractive aspect of the ball with an interior core that has a mirror finish, maybe in some sort of aluminum? That is how those gimmicky fushigi balls are made. Could be an idea to make a legal version that still has the feeling of being clear and reflective!
Yeah I actually think that might work. If a dense glass orb in the middle of the ball doesn't work, you could probably put something brightly polished or relfective foil wrapped in the middle to still make a cool affect. That might work.

Just a heads up that a clear sphere can act as a focusing lens when light hits it. Sunlight going through this could theoretically set your house on fire. You see this issue with crystal balls... You should make a cover or a cloth to keep it covered when in storage...

They made them in the 1980s. Very few people purchased them, even when we finally put them on sale for next to nothing. As soon as finger holes are drilled in them, they look like someone stuck 3 pegs in them. Also, it takes little time for them to get scratched up and the luster dulls out.
What if you got 2 bowling balls cut them in half and combine 2 of the half’s of the 2 bowling balls together with 2 different cores and bowl a game with it.

I was only moving a board between the stone 9 and the flat 10/5 pins 😅 could’ve tried moving right and increasing ball speed but I’m not good with manipulating speed control two handed yet

Intuitively, I suspect that any sort of material dense enough to be considered a "weight block" would be too dense to be transparent.

You should try polishing the inside of those finger holes so they look clear too and blend better.
