In some towns it is a tradition for families to accompany the future groom, as a welcoming gesture to the bride and her family, but the one I like is the tradition where the family of the groom pretend to kidnap the future bride they keep her for like 24 hrs, then take her back with food and music and an apology!! It's a gesture to show that they will jump through hoops to have her.
my future husband took me for a long weekend in york, and after a night out he proposed to me sitting at the edge of at the bed at our B&B not the most romantic but he did ask my dad and go down on 1 knee, and 32 years we are still married.😊
