- MORE than 400 students took part in the biggest flashmob ever at The Trafford Centre this week in a bid to boost the image of youth in the northwest.
The performing arts students from the Pendleton Sixth Form Centre of Salford City College, performed a unique, choreographed routine put together by tutor Hannah Paice. Lasting for four minutes, the performance was set to a sound-track of music clips from the last 30 years - including Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi.
We need more of this in 2019 and in America..please
when ever I see people together doing awesome stuff, it always makes me cry. Thanks for the happy tears.
Me too
Agreed 100%
Thought I was the only one! Great to 'meet' other spontaneous happy criers! :-)

I wish I was there to see it, brilliant how they put it all together even in different places
i run a flash goup
i watch all flash mobs and are a critic for all i write to the dancers and music to this mob was 99/100 the camera man was -10/100 need to see more of the peolpe who take the time to make this dvd but the music was 10/10 loved it xxx keep the good work up guys......very good music choice
Congrats to Hannah!!!! Amazing work!!! Why couldn't we have done this ... I'm sure all 12 students could've made it this exciting. lol. how things change.... from about 40 dance students there to 400!!!!
well done everyone involved.
This was GRRRRRREAT!!!I LOVED EVERY MIN OF THIS
I just watched this video 4 times in a row, and although I've watched it a few times in the past, it never gets old. So glad I found it again!!!
love these flash dances. they shud be compulsory. they give such a happy feel to everyone.
Don`t ya just love a flashmob......
Wait,
Fantastic energy, people from all races giving joy to others.
That is how it should be and these youngsters are a shining example of how young people can be.
Great stuff!.
Can't EVEN imagine the amount of organization a production this big takes. Major respect here. While I personally prefer the single song start to finish approach (as a spectator), knowing what your goal was for this arrangement I think it's quite fitting. KUDOS!!!
Are flashmobs still a thing? I aint even gunna lie- I love 'em! I think one should happen every day in a major city around the world cause they make people happy
I live in Manchester for 3 year and I miss it so much. The Trafford centre was a regular haunt and this was great, it brought back good memories. I loved the architecture of the building. Westfield in London just does not have the same atmosphere
I can't believe people are criticising this!!! It was brilliant!! As for the element of surprise, I'm sure that the MOTP there didn't know this was going to happen! So much thought and effort must have gone into this, let's give a great big round of applause to all the people involved...........and before anyone accuses me - I am in no way, shape or form associated with Pendleton College or the amazing students who performed this.............Well Done everyone!
That's not a flash mob. That's a performance that just happens to be in a public place.
Wouldn't it be great if we could have that again. Was brilliant.😅
Best bit is at 0:28 - Proud of all my Pendleton fellows! Don't let the haters hate, you rocked that joint!
Well done to all of you, you all worked so hard to put this together and practiced at midnight in Trafford Centre. Obviously they would have to rehearse it and obviously Trafford Centre would have to know if 400 pupils are going to suddenly turn up, as would their parents as they aren't just going to disappear at midnight on a week night until 1.30 in the morning and not have told their parents. You should all be very proud of yourselves, as should the hardworking teachers at Pendleton College
I think it's wonderful to give people a lift and a short reprieve, from their normal mundane existence, in the middle of our out of control world.
Absaloutley amazing, THANK YOU for cheering me up on what was a boring Saturday night in. Well done all.
The brilliance of the uk and the north west! I live near Preston and I was there watching that on that day, I was even more astonished when I watched it on here! I love the uk!
Absolute genius, I love things like this, but if I was shopping I'd be either like "WTF!" and hitting people with my shopping bag.. ooooorrr I'd jump on the stage and join in... it could go either way!! Great work!
Omg this is so amazing, I would have loved to have took part in that because its just.. pure amazing!! Keep it up guys!!
i prefer it when the song doesn't change but hey this was awesome :)
The human race; if only we ALL could unite. Love this!!!
you are all bloody brilliant! from a 41 year old Brummie... still smiling!
This is special. Makes me forget about everything for a moment and makes me wanna just dance!
Flash Mobs Rule ! You are Humanity’s future for spreading positivity! May it spread throughout , Yea ! 🙏
It was way good! But the main room was so dark! It would have been nice to get right down there with the dancers in the video. From the distance I could hardly see what they were doing until they went to the other rooms where the dances were being performed. It is a shame that the video feed was not done well, especially after so much work!
very good! I remember when I use to have that kind of energy.
Definitely super proud to be in this. Well done everyone!
fantastic, only wish I couldve been there, well done Salford
Woah ! that was amazing ! Wish I had been therrrreeee 2 watch it
People slating us need to pipe down. You've got to remember there's places the cameras couldn't go so anyone saying they're just on the stage it looks crap, no. There we're tonnes of people on the balcony too. Unfortunately videos don't necessarily give you the full effect, would be good if a time travel was real and you haters could actually be there in person and see how amazing it was. So much HARD WORK was put into this have some respect and quit with the negativity. So proud to be in this!!
The guy at 1:30 is an adorable reminder to me. It reminds me that humans are actually capable of some really cool things and they can make even complete strangers really happy. :D
Loved being a part of this! took us ages to rehearse but was such good fun to do! I think we did a really good job and i know from feedback on the day the people there watching loved it! :D
IK wish my school would do this
That was amazing. One of the boys dancing looked like Draco Malfoy Durrung Harry's third year in the movie.
Selena Burke haha i thought this exact same thing!!
Trafford centre did know OBVS !! like you said we didnt all just walk in and put a song on to dance too hahaha the only people who didnt know was the public! well done guysss LOVE MY PENDIES !!!!!
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Dancing spot on and edited by Simon perfectly.
I am so proud to say that i am a student at salford city college and this was amazing. Gutted i was in college on that day but when i went shopping in the trafford centre on sunday they played this on the big screen in the food court and it was amazing =) well done to all the students involved you were awesome.
Thanks for that. For one, I didn't actually put anybody down. I didn't say I did or didn't like it and I am intelligent enough to appreciate the hard work that went into it. Don't put yourself out there in such a public way and expect everything to go your way and not have people challenging you to be better. I agree I don't think it was a proper flash mob and rock choir did it better. It was interesting and a bit different for the Trafford centre if not a bit of a cliche. I think if you looked
Brilliant...Well done to the 400 people involved!!!!
Well done to ALL that took part, you showed great organisation skills, well choreographed.
i love trafford centre i always go there when i go Manchester they always do amazing shows
Just saw this and began crying with pride. You guys are amazing. Makes me want to go back to Pendleton!
This was seriously the most amazing flash mob I have ever seen. AMAZING WORK!
Fantastic Guys- so much rehearsal to get that right. Well done all of you xx
omg imagine how cool it would have been to be apart of that...that was awesome!!!
This is amazing! 2 months rehearsal and this is happened! Congratulations!
I'm watching this at work. I almost started clapping when it was over, lol.

It dent matter of the general public new or not. Overall it was a brilliant performance. Well done to the students.
I would enjoy it more if it stopped stopping. It`s awsume!!
Only one minor complaint, The video keeps jumping around. Wonderfull performance poor editing.
Trafford Centre did not look like this last I was there, absolutely great
that was brilliant, well done all involved, from dancers to organisers...
Good job Pendleton! Glad to know some of you. :)
Kisses from Paris.
my daughter loves flashmobs!
I love them too
OMG this is the geatest flash mob ever! its really awsome you guys really worked hard to do this
Every time I come here I'm amazed to watch people @3.20!!
Absolutely gorgeous to share with everyone your amazing talents. I felt so moved by the atmosphere that you created and wished that I had been there to experience your day. Karen Goodger. X
Was fun, and so nice to see young people performing dance in a large group. (Yet, like most video of dance these days, the camera and editing was overly dominating, and very distracting from being able to fully see and enjoy the dancing.)
This is so awesome! One of the best I've ever seen. I hope to one day be able to choreograph a flash mob and have it performed magnificently as this one was. Major props!!! It's extremely difficult to organize these things and this was beautiful!!!
That is so much better than the flash-mop in the U.S. ;-) well done :-))
Absolutely brill, well done all of you you should be so proud. xx
Thank you Salford city college!
Absolutely love this video, there should be more of this, fantastic. Thanks for the entertainment, Adrian.
Quality! Need to do this more!
so happy to be involved in this!
That is so awesome. I wish my dance studio would do that!!!
Great dancing shame about the poor video production.
When people could all be together 🥺
It's the best flashmob I ever seen!
Grrrrr i was at the trafford center the day b4 this..... Gutted would of loved to have seen it :( well done to all who took part AMAZING
Hey it doesn't have to be everyones cup of tea and just because you are into it doesn't mean everyone has to like it. People who were there that day didn't sign up for it and the Trafford centre is a nightmare at the best of times without 400 dancers slowing things up.
That was unbelievable I can only wish I can witness something like that
went to trafford centre nearly every day that week can't believe I missed this D:
One of the best flash mobs I've seen brilliant
It was lovely that parents got to see it... but they didn't have to stand where they did. My parents were in the seating area and they could see everything. The parents on the balcony were in the way of the dancers meaning that they couldn't do their dance properly. In my eyes, that's the only thing that let it down. Everything else was perfect. Next time (if there is a next time) There needs to be a lot more secrecy put into it!
WELL DONE PENDLETON!
Awesome job, from the Americas!
So proud to say I was a part of this!
I LOVE Flashmob's what a Brilliant idea & it's good clean fun
Such a feel good video-but it’s made me feel old!!
Visited the Trafford Centre because of this - Fab
Small shopping centre and like the rest but fab decor
im speachless... not shure if its in a good way or a bad way
10 Points from Germany BRAVO
best flashmob I've seen so far!! Congrats very well put together!!
Live in Manchester, wish I’d been at the Trafford Centre that day
So cool,.... i love this people,... you are Sooo talented, organise such a thing,..
1 of greatest!
I was once there and have to say, it was awesome. The restaurants all side by side :D After some time, I realized, that the whole centre somehow looks like a big ship O.o
I'm just in love with this video !
I just love a flashmob and this one's great fun... the music and the 400 dancers have left me grinning insanely and all the happy hormones are shooting around my body!! That should give the cortisol that seems to think my body is its permanent residence a bit of a beating then!!!
LOOOOL that must have been amazinng !!!
