13:26 In the comics Jonathan Kent dies of a heart attack. Superman's father dies of an entirely mortal condition. Even the mighty Man of Steel could not save his father from a common heart attack. That's the way to do it. Having Pop Kent die of a tornado while his superpowered son, who can move at the speed of light, is just watching with his thumbs up his butt is just stupid.
I’m still baffled they did that. Also, why will you kill Superman when we already knew there was going to be a Justice League movie and there was NO WAY they will do the first ever Justice League movie without Superman?
John's fixation of "fun" prevents his understanding of "mediocre" movies. The fact that he only thinks 2 DCU movies are bad is why his opinion is jaded.
I’m glad it’s over. It was a mess. Only 4 movies were legitimately good the rest were terrible. A serious lack of planning followed by bad creative choices with terrible casting choices. It’s amazing it lasted as long as it did.
How's it not fair to compare it to the MCU? I think it's beyond fair. One company had the rights to all their IP from day one. One company had a multi-billion dollar company backing them from day one. One company has the most recognizable and most popular superheroes in the world. DC had every advantage. Yet they failed. It barely got off the launch pad before it all started crashing back down. The one thing that Marvel had that DC didn't was Kevin Feige. Someone with a vision, an idea that the studio allowed to see through. Maybe Snyder could have been that person, maybe not (he made some really stupid choices so who knows where things would have gone with him in the long term). WB is just a very badly run company, even today after getting bought out.
@TheMaestroMizerous Which was canceled at the last second for basically no reason. The strike is reason they gave, but that only lasted a couple of months. There was honestly nothing stopping them from continuing on. They just..... didn't. Just be glad they didn't make any of the Superman films they had planned. Those were all awful sounding.
Since we’re comparing…the first five DCEU movies made a lot more box office than the first five MCU films. The studio should’ve just left Snyder alone and let him finish his universe. After he left that’s when the movies started tanking
I'm also a big fan of the MOS movie and a big Superman fan over all. And I gotta question when John said tons of people didn't like the movie....but if you research home video releases. MOS sold more then most MCU movies
I love Ray's Everyman opinion. John always talks about how great Cavill is as Superman but he never mentions Clark Kent. They were the exact same person.
H.C. was the perfect casting for Superman. Then you get the perfect Batman to piece up against H.C. and that cherry on top of Gal G. being WW. They had it all and just...
BvS story was fine, but way too much for one movie. There should have been a Batman movie inbetween which should have showed Batman hatred for Superman because of the events of MoS. Most of Lex's plotting pitting those two against each other should have been that movie. Clark should have been visiting Gotham to investigating Batman. THEN should have been BvS, WW intro could have remained the same. Could have had Batman and Superman official meet in this movie
@@ML-yn9yuI think the movie needing a movie prior to it shows how the movie was not good. Proper setup was not there and having major parts of the movie not in there unless you see the directors cut didn’t sit well with me
Nah, it was Josstice League that killed it. BvS disappointed many but it still made a lot of money, Suicide Squad made a lot of money but everyone hated it and then Josstice League was the final nail in the coffin and the DCEU has been running on fumes since then.
There’s a big elephant in the room: the Zack Snyder problem. Even if WB had entrusted him to do a MoS sequel/ Batfleck movie next and lay the ground work, you can’t deny his take on these DC characters has divided the fandom, something marvel hadn’t had an issue with in their heyday. Look at the audience consensus: a large number of audiences equally disliked Snyders DCEU movies as much as those that enjoyed them. You can’t kick off a cinematic universe by having roughly half of your target support you. Otherwise the DC movies would’ve been dead in the matter before they could even reach a Justice League movie. It’s this reason why I’m cautiously optimistic that James Gunn DC movies could right the DCEUs wrongs.
I think BvS was the turning point I think Snyder never should have been hired for that film let alone Justice League. BvS shouldn't have even been a thing it should have been MoS2 with a totally different director.
WB tried to catch up to the MCU too fast without building up the fanbase and goodwill like the MCU had. WB also kept hemming and hawing on what direction they wanted to take, not allowing any vision to solidify for long before changing it again. A lot of uncertainty at the top, mixed with that top changing several times. Snyder was also the wrong man for the job, his disdain for the source material coming through loud and clear. He may have been a good fit for CERTAIN projects, but as the overall architect? No. All they had to do was look at what the DCAU did and kick things off with that as the blueprint. Simple. Easy. Done.
I equally blame WB and Zack Snyder! The studio really should have invested in putting out more movies to set up the DCEU in a similar manner as the MCU did. In 4 years, the MCU started off with Iron Man & the Incredible Hulk in 2008 then finished Phase 1 in 2012 with the Avengers. The DCEU started off with Man of Steel in 2013 and closed out 2017 with the Justice League 4 years later. Four years is 4 years. The MCU did much more in its universe building in 4 years than the DCEU so we can't blame WB for wanting a big team up movie. We just have to fault them in how they did it. And, that's where I assign blame/fault on Zack Snyder b/c one he took too many liberties in trying the change Superman and Batman. First off, he should have known how controversial and divisive it would be on the fandom to have Superman and Batman kill. It was really unnecessary. He should have known that his version of Lex Luthor was going to be a failure too! Snyder failed to center the DCEU around Superman like the MCU centered around Iron Man. Henry Cavill's Clark/Superman had like only 40-41 lines in Batman V Superman in which he killed Superman off at the end, and we got under 30 minutes of screen time of Superman in the 4 hour Snyder version of the Justice League (10%-11%). It was probably even less in the theatrical release. Making things worst is that we got a dark and depressed Clark Kent/Superman the majority of when we did get to see him. That in my opinion is unacceptable the the main reason why the DCEU failed miserably. I hope new DCU learned their lesson & will not repeat those mistakes!
I think another thing that also killed the DCEU was the release time of some of their movies. There should have been a Man of Steel Sequel (no batman) released in 2015 or 2016nd take advantage that they didn't have any of the relative baggage the MCU films were just starting to bring on.
The writing for DC was on the wall the moment they announced Zack Snyder would write and direct Batman v Superman and also Justice League after the mixed reception Man of Steel got
I loved Man of Steel. But a lot of people didn’t at that time. They really needed to do a Man of Steel 2 in order to solidify that character before trying to tackle an expanded universe
While there were 99 problems with the entire DCEU from tone to Synder, to how the order of the movies came out to even the disconnectedness of the film, I believe the foundational two issues are: 1 Leadership and 2 Lack of understanding these characters. 1) Everything rises and falls on leadership. Teams lose in sports but the first person they fire is the coach. Whoever was the decided voice should have had a vision and well thought out plan from the beginning. They should have determined the end of the franchise first and worked backwards on how to get there from the start. They needed maybe one type of Kevin Feige leader with a strong team around him to get this done. And 2, they should have understood these characters better. When they understand the main comic book motives, personalities, and purposes of these characters the story or stories would have presented themselves. Letting the idea of these characters as the majority of the fans know them best act out how they would normally act would have created interesting stories, dialogues, conversations, and the conflicts. The general audience doesn't know what these comic book characters do or who they are. They only know these characters from how they have been portrayed in live action, animated, and video game medias. Fans have only seen Batman kill people in Keaton's Batman, Bale's Batman, and even Batflecj. That's what they expect from Batman in the movies now, not knowing the general motivation of the character from the comic books has a well known and established rules that he doesn't kill and he hates guns.
It was the franchise that was never meant to be a franchise. Man Of Steel was advertised as The Dark Knight trilogy but for Superman. That’s why they plastered Christopher Nolan’s name all over it! Man of Steel was meant to be a trilogy but after the success of the avengers they quickly scribbled down BvS instead of taking their time with the world building
I will never forget how Snyder fumbled BvS. A trio that have had so many stories told, roadmaps he could’ve followed, and an entire animated universe he could’ve pulled inspiration from - and he still botched it. That’s one you can’t blame on WB meddling, BvS was before they started doing all that and in fact it’s bad reception was the reason they started meddling. Ultimate edition was only a minor improvement. People say Henry Cavill never got a chance to truly shine in the role, but some forget the man who had all the opportunity to allow Henry to shine but never did, Zack Snyder.
I think the difference between Avengers/JL and guardians, fantastic 4 etc. is they are not an actual "team" so to speak, they become one, but thats the thing is we have to see them become one, they are separate powerful characters that because of a threat so big, need to come together to take it out. But they are not with each other day in n day out like GOTG or fantastic 4. Thats why separate films establishing each character works better first, even if you did make a good movie, it might not have the same impact as seeing characters you already know and hopefully love come together, its whats special about the avengers movies, on top of being good.
The failure of DCEU was their obsession with competing with Marvel and rushing to make an Avengers type movie without fleshing out the heroes with their own movies before hand. The whole franchise had this constant feeling of being rushed
DC was always too reactionary and lacked confidence. They made MoS and then waited for reception before doing anything afterwards. Then, they did everything in reverse. "Oh, you liked Man of Steel? Here, let's cast 12 heroes that you'll see very soon!" Universal Monsters got themselves into that same trap. DC followed up the first movie in the DCEU with fuckin Civil War and then the very next year, Justice League. And then, a string of standalone films that never lead to anything at all. They needed to just pick ANY direction without second-guessing themselves. They picked EVERY direction and changed courses after every movie. the DCEU started out directionless and it showed throughout the entire process. That's the legacy
DCEU didn't have one single great movie. Such a shame. You have some decent movies like Wonder Woman, Shazam and The Suicide Squad. I just don't think Zack Snyder's visual style worked for this universe...dark, bleak and boring.
I loved Man of Steel and my heart broke with BVS. Not because Superman died but because the film was a major disappointment. When I first saw the leaked image of Letos Joker I cried..because I knew that they wouldn't succeed. But to my shock ZSJL was amazing.
This Universe is a cautionary tale of how to make a Cinematic Universe with characters THAT EVERYONE KNOWS the wrong way, and it's sad how they fumbled the bag with these characters that everyone loves.
Man of Steel 2 would have focused on Clark working at the Daily Planet, while still being Superman at the same time. Man of Steel 2 would've dove deeper into the Superman character moving forward.
I guess I'm in the minority here, but I loved all of those movies. I'm not too big into comic lore but these movies really entertained me. I enjoyed many of them.
Man of Steel was truly a great and underrated movie……..I think Batman v. Superman was just as good and the Snyder Cut of Justice League was also very good. That said having Man of Steel followed up by Batman v. Superman and Justice League didn’t make any sense. Unless they were planning to do a stand alone Batman movie as a precursor to a pan ultimate showdown with Darkside. Perhaps things quiet down considerably and we find all the characters getting back to “normal” life doing their own thing and somewhat growing apart. Man of Steel 2 dealing with Superman trying to find others of his kind. You conclude the stand alone Batman movie with Darkside planning another attack on earth leading into another huge Justice League Movie.
I do like Man Of Steel but my main problem is Pa Kents death. The protection of Clark’s existence had been made it didn’t need to be punctuated with aPa Kent sacrifice which Clark could have easily prevented. The original comic book and adapted in Superman the Movie death where Pa Kent dies of natural causes and Clark says ‘with all these powers and I still couldn’t save him’ not only grounded Superman it also showed the limits of his powers and that he is not a god.
When I seen BVS….. I knew this was going to be jacked up. One Superman movie then they wanted their own “CIVIL WAR”…….after that they were always behind
I think WB, in their minds thought that Batman and Wonder Woman are A-List characters that giving them first each of their own solo movie before BvS would be a waste of time.
Wait, did Robert just pitch WW the same way she was introduced the in movie? Lol He said “we just see her as Diana then we see her as WW later, with the music” That’s exactly what happened, just shoved into one film. Maybe that’s what he’s saying but it was funny hearing a pitch for the same thing that actually happened. 😂
Fuck a Batman movie. There should have been a Man of Steel 2 after Man of Steel. The problem with the DCEU was both greed and that Dawn of Martha was crap.
Despite what ppl say, i dont think “rushing” was the oroblem. We’ve seen films for decades with large ensembles introduced right off the bat. DC in animation/games/new 52 reboot did similar things. It was just the quakity if the films and really BVS/SS.
@@user-kj9oz7lb8s i mean what I said. We’ve seen plenty of franchises launch early with large ensemble cast. DC didnt need to do it Marvel’s way as they have shown in their own company history. You didnt need a bunch of indvidial films leading into xmen.
Man of Steel never properly established Superman as a relatable hero (i.e. - Clark Kent doesn't interact with very many people). BvS is a mash of the "Death of Superman" and "The Dark Knight Returns" comics; two comics that have nothing to do with each other, and that posit very different relationships than the movies ever cared to portray. BvS is what happens when the Source material is disrespected.
I always go back to: We live in a world where we had Superman and Black Widow die on screen, and I was more sad when Vlack Widow died. And Superman is my number 1 guy. My thing with why Warners rushed it is because they've wanted to kill Superman off on screen for years. I'd say almost right after they killed him in the Comics.
Why didn't "rEaL dC fAnS" go see David F. Sandberg's Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Ángel Manuel Soto's Blue Beetle, & Andy Muschietti's The Flash? Why did "rEaL dC fAnS" punish those directors? I thought only Snyder cultists didn't support DC movies that don't involve Zack?
Oh, the color pallet in Man of Steel was a make-or-break decision for me. I initially disliked the movie but could not put my finger on why. It had to be pointed out to me that the movie looked ugly because of a terrible gray filter. I thought, "oh yeah, that's why."
we got to see michael keaton in a flash movie. I think there is a chance that sometime down the road we could get a flash movie in the new dcu and see ben and henry appear in it.
I agree that BvS was trying to do too many things but I will say this.... have you seen cast so far for Superman Legacy..... isn't Gunn doing the same thing. Just with lesser known characters?
I think if they had made BvS two movies so you could really reintroduce Batman and build his motivations against Superman, then do a Superman movie being a reporter and tracking down the Bat, maybe it could have worked. Maybe the studio would have trusted Snyder to helm the universe. But they rushed everything for money.
The first 5 DCEU movies made way more box office than the first 5 MCU movies. It was a great start! The studio should’ve stopped meddling with Snyder’s movies and let him finish his universe. After Snyder left the dc movies were terrible and made no money
@@Piyzomyou're smoking krack. When Zacks JL was released on HBO Max it broke records. And those little dC fAnS that didn't like Zacks take of the DC characters are the same fans that are causing the last DC movies to flob. There is few of them...but LOUD AF
@@Piyzom I was being extra with my comment. Right, it didn't break records. And yes it was a hit. People signed onto HBO the day ZSJL was released. which was in March. TSS was released in August. I will be watching his Superman Legacy because I am a Superman fan. But for me, MOS is top notch. Now as for home video releases, ZSJL and TSS are very close but ZS was on top.
Problems started right off the start with Man of Steel. Excellent movie but as soon as Superman snapped Zod's neck all you could here on the internet was that Superman doesn't kill. This isn't my Superman, boo hoo. From that point the suits kept changing plans to try to keep the fickle fans happy.
You have a point. I didn't like that scene either when I saw it but I could go along with the reasoning it was included. I remember reading an article online around that time where Christopher Nolan, who was one of the executive producers on MoS, brought this issue up with Snyder but ultimately Snyder got him to come around with including the scene. I can see why the film didn't resonate with people but I thought it wasn't a bad film overall. A little underappreciated, that scene excluded... which I can understand
@@magnubeido832 This was a pivotal moment for Clark. He didn't want to kill Zod but wasn't given a choice. It effected him so deeply that he decided to always find another way to stop the bad guys. It was because of this moment that he became the Superman that doesn't kill.

i liked most of DCEU but i'm happy it ended. i just hope that Gal Gadot will still being Wonder Woman, same way probabky Margott Robbie will still being Harley Quinn. i liked to hear you guys thoughts on this subject
Warner Bros went from one of the best corporate leadership teams…a team that brought you Harry Potter, the Matrix, the Nolan Batman trilogy, etc. It went from that to a regime that brought you mediocrity and a sale to AT&T.
Letting Snyder, basically, do whatever he wanted with BvS was what killed the DCEU. MoS was a good/great film with a lot of flaws, but instead of the studio reigning in the worse impulses of Snyder, they doubled down on his vision with BvS. One-off great films like WW and Aquaman after that were just propping up a cinematic universe that very few people cared about after BvS. It has been really frustrating to watch it happen as a lifelong fan of Superman and DC comics.
Fun fact: Zack Snyder originally wanted to make Man of Steel 2 where Batman was only supposed to appear as a cameo with a hint of the future. But Warner Bros. demanded their version of "Civil War" with a bunch of characters like Marvel's, which Snyder and Goyer thought was a dubious idea, but as hired workers they did everything that was asked of them.
Unfortunately for the DCEU, we never got not a single Green lantern standing with the Justice League. We never got Darkside. We never got a chance to see the Legion of Doom.
Henry, Amy Adams, Ben, Jeremy Irons, Lawrence fishbourne, gal gadot etc...what a perfect selection of actors an WB effd it up. Snyder or no Snyder someone needs to pick up the pieces an give them a fair closing
The only things you can compare the dceu to is she hulk , secret invasion, runaways and any show before iron man! Marvel got you excited to go to the theaters and stay after the credits! The dceu had u looking at your watch!
Robert Meyer Burnett explanation is just absolutely exquisitly true, precise and objective. Nothing to say more. Such a waste. The truth is their best sucess, aquaman, is more a MCU kind of movie than DC! and the movie is great and it is not even a great DC character because in comics, aquaman is not that interesting (beside few runs..) Nolan's batman was dark so it is not a question of tone neither. there is something else which is more around having a movie bringing either fun or solid plot to please.
I think you guys said it perfectly well. This balance between studio interference but also just flawed filmmaking as well. It’s not one or the other. Only the Snyder films were the really ambitious movies in this series in my opinion, and that’s because they were the only ones that could push the main narrative forward. But they were also so gloomy/ edgy. We didn’t necessarily need dorky Clark from the Reeves movies, or the super friends. But there are just genuinely bad ideas at play here. But also, these are definitely movies you can look back on and actually like. They are well choreographed with some amazing acting and potential. Though, it falls on its face as far as execution.
Honestly it had potential but the reality it was poorly executed. They try to do what marvel did and it just didn't work. Also the writing and story telling was poorly done
@@KrazyJoe1701 well batman vs superman was sniders and it was a step down from men of steel. Maybe if snider didn't had to deal with his family tragedy who knows maybe things could have been better but will never know
I agree with a lot what was said, but I really feel social media and critics shared in the killing of these films also. And now that great Marvel legacy of films is going through a somewhat same process only their problem is trying to please the FAN BASE where DCEU stuck to their guns.
Zack Snyder's movies had no heart and were too dark. Especially when you compare them to Wonder Woman and Aquaman. The tonal variation in all these movies is just too great.
DCEU Movies: Man of Steel - flaws outweigh ambitions. Dawn of Justice - messy. Wonder Woman - ambitions outweigh flaws. Suicide Squad - bad. Justice League - insufferable. Aquaman - surprisingly okay. Shazam - better than bad. Birds of Prey - abhorrent. Snyder Cut - a lot of slow motion. Wonder Woman 2 - laughably inept. The Suicide Squad - genuinely entertaining. Black Adam - not good. Shazam 2 - not good, not bad. The Flash - dry-cleaned turd. Blue Beetle - better than it needed to be.
I'm like John, I enjoyed majority of the movies in DCEU. LOVED MAN OF STEEL. LOVED ZSJL. Didn't like Harley Quinn or Wonder woman 2, but otherwise enjoyed the rest of the movies. Im someone who doesn't understand the hate for BVS either. There are so many great things in that movie, visually, musically, character wise.. It just eludes me.
I will look back on the DCEU as wasted potential, and a universe that didn't know what it wanted to be. Would I like to see some of these characters and new stories with them again? Yes. But because they didn't have a clear vision, it's time to start over.
Despite its ups and downs i love the DCEU and im grateful for the films we got. However im ready for a reboot. And in the meantime im gonna add Aquaman 2 to complete my DCEU blu ray collection.
Should have done Man Of Steel 2. Then tease Batman across the bay. Then do a affleck batman film 🎥 and intro Wonder Woman in that film. Then do a Wonder Woman film. Man Of Steel 3. Then a Afflecks Batman sequel. Then a team up. Audience is now invested!

I think BvS was the turning point I think Snyder never should have been hired for that film let alone Justice League. BvS shouldn't have even been a thing it should have been MoS2 with a totally different director.
Exactly!!
The legacy is simply that the DCEU tried to sprint before it could walk due to BvS.
💯💯
The DCEU had potential. But it's consistency was horribly done.
Simple. Easy. Done.
Thats only true as far as executives nit the creatives , what Snyder was doing was nothing like what MCU was doing
@@madspectoryeah, it wasn’t that good.
I hope new DCU learned their lesson & will not repeat those mistakes!
facts man
I think another thing that also killed the DCEU was the release time of some of their movies.
There should have been a Man of Steel Sequel (no batman) released in 2015 or 2016nd take advantage that they didn't have any of the relative baggage the MCU films were just starting to bring on.
If it wasn't for the international market these movies would barely make over 100 million domestically.
So true
The writing for DC was on the wall the moment they announced Zack Snyder would write and direct Batman v Superman and also Justice League after the mixed reception Man of Steel got
There's a reason no one talks about how great Man Of Steel was ..... because it wasn't.
I do 🤷🏻♂️
They never let the characters build up they jumped right to a justice league way to fast..
I loved Man of Steel. But a lot of people didn’t at that time. They really needed to do a Man of Steel 2 in order to solidify that character before trying to tackle an expanded universe
Lowkey this feels like a eulogy
It seems like a lot of the problems with DCEU can be summed up thusly: Disney/Marvel played the long game and WB didn’t want to wait that long.
I will always remember the DCEU as "What could have been?"
My heart still hasn’t let go of man of steel 2 😢
I will never forget how Snyder fumbled BvS. A trio that have had so many stories told, roadmaps he could’ve followed, and an entire animated universe he could’ve pulled inspiration from - and he still botched it. That’s one you can’t blame on WB meddling, BvS was before they started doing all that and in fact it’s bad reception was the reason they started meddling. Ultimate edition was only a minor improvement. People say Henry Cavill never got a chance to truly shine in the role, but some forget the man who had all the opportunity to allow Henry to shine but never did, Zack Snyder.
The wheels came off the moment they announced BvS.
It felt like the DCEU was making it up as they went. The only DCEU movie I really liked was the first Wonder Woman.
💯💯💯 and then on top of that BvS just wasn't as good as it SHOULD HAVE BEEN
DCEU didn't have one single great movie. Such a shame. You have some decent movies like Wonder Woman, Shazam and The Suicide Squad. I just don't think Zack Snyder's visual style worked for this universe...dark, bleak and boring.
The DCEU was never on the rails. They were bad starting with Man of Steel... and, that was heartbreaking for me.
The Flash was actually a good movie. I think it would have done well if it was release during the comic book movies hype year.
Disneys power over the media means they have a distinct advantage over the DCEU. Thankfully now people are paying less and less attention to critics.
MCU was around before Disney bought them
Man of Steel 2 would have focused on Clark working at the Daily Planet, while still being Superman at the same time.
If fun was the issue explain the fall off after Aquaman. The numbers show what fans were receptive to. It all fell off after Aquaman.
Good point. But I also think they wanted to fast track getting to a JL movie more so than make sure the movies being made would connect with people
Wait, did Robert just pitch WW the same way she was introduced the in movie? Lol
He said “we just see her as Diana then we see her as WW later, with the music”
That’s exactly what happened, just shoved into one film.
The only movies I didn’t care for was Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 2. But I enjoyed every other movie.
The neck snap was the first domino in the DCEU's downfall.
Implying Suicide Squad (2016) is better than Birds of Prey is a wild take lmao
Both are crap so not really.
They killed Superman in only the second movie - there was no connection built with him
I always go back to: We live in a world where we had Superman and Black Widow die on screen, and I was more sad when Vlack Widow died. And Superman is my number 1 guy. My thing with why Warners rushed it is because they've wanted to kill Superman off on screen for years. I'd say almost right after they killed him in the Comics.
the problem with DCEU was it could not hold up to the TIMMVERSE dc universe , that what people hold up the dc universe to , even more then the comics
Why didn't "rEaL dC fAnS" go see David F. Sandberg's Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Ángel Manuel Soto's Blue Beetle, & Andy Muschietti's The Flash?
Why did "rEaL dC fAnS" punish those directors?
I thought only Snyder cultists didn't support DC movies that don't involve Zack?
Why the hell would people who hate the dceu go see Dceu movies? You really didn’t think this through.
@@azuresaiyan9005 It puts the lotion on itself.
Oh, the color pallet in Man of Steel was a make-or-break decision for me. I initially disliked the movie but could not put my finger on why. It had to be pointed out to me that the movie looked ugly because of a terrible gray filter. I thought, "oh yeah, that's why."
it felt like a sci fi movie with superpowers not a superman film.
we got to see michael keaton in a flash movie.
I feel like that James Gunn dceu will be like young justice
The first 5 DCEU movies made way more box office than the first 5 MCU movies. It was a great start!
The studio should’ve stopped meddling with Snyder’s movies and let him finish his universe. After Snyder left the dc movies were terrible and made no money
you forgot to mention that at the time dc had way more recognizable characters so their bar for success was a higher,
@@Piyzomyou're smoking krack.
So who do you think more then half of those views came from, mate? And let's get this out of they way. I am not Biased, I enjoyed Gunns Suicide squad. I'm ok with some of his work. I will be watching his Superman Legacy because I am a Superman fan. But for me, MOS is top notch. Now as for home video releases, ZSJL and TSS are very close but ZS was on top.
@@Piyzom and you read all the fake articles it seems
It wasn't awful... Tons of potential but impatience and stupidity got in the way
Man of steel and JL snydercut were some of the best superhero movies in the last 2 decades.
There is no heart in either.
Robert hit the nail on the head My thoughts exactly.
my top 5 is:
1- Zack Snyder's Justice League
2- Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition
3- Wonder Woman
4- Man of Steel
5- The Suicide Squad
Overall, I agree with Robert.
Peacemaker is by far my favorite thing the DCEU has done. Wonder Woman is 2nd on my list, Man of Steel 3rd. The first Shazam was pretty fun.
1.) Superman
2.) Batman
3.) Wonder Woman
4.) Cyborg
5.) Aquaman
6.) Flash ⭐️
⭐️⭐️Justice League 1 ⭐️⭐️
1.Suicide Squad,
2. Shazam,
3. Black Adam,
4. Blue Beatle
5. Flash 2 Paradox
6. Superman 2 with Sashe Calle, with appearance of Cyborg vs Brainiac
7. Batman & Suicide Squad vs Joker & Harley Quinn
8. Woman Woman 2 with introduction of the green lanterns
A part of me thinks The Flash going with the Clooney Ending was some kind of Meta knowledgment that the DCEU was a Failure
i liked most of DCEU but i'm happy it ended. i just hope that Gal Gadot will still being Wonder Woman, same way probabky Margott Robbie will still being Harley Quinn. i liked to hear you guys thoughts on this subject
Ray! The movie you’re thinking of is The Twilight Zone movie from 1983. Zipper girl freaked me out too!
@@ii-mp1spthat's not even true🤣
Unfortunately for the DCEU, we never got not a single Green lantern standing with the Justice League. We never got Darkside. We never got a chance to see the Legion of Doom.
BvS could've worked after Man Of Steel IF it was only about Superman and Batman then make the Dawn Of Justice part as a Justice League movie.
I will look back it as an over criticized Film. And a master class of studios not sticking-by its talent!
Aquaman 2 was totally serviceable. The hate seems excessive
Great discussion
Honestly it had potential but the reality it was poorly executed. They try to do what marvel did and it just didn't work. Also the writing and story telling was poorly done
Untrue. Most of the writing and storytelling was EXCELLENT, post those early Snyder films
The tonal variation in all these movies is just too great.
man of steel was not dark at all, and had way more heart than aquaman and wonder woman
BVS was too messy. They rushed the story too fast. Should of kept it slow moving to build characters.
Plus, too many ppl want unwarranted jokes.
DCEU Movies:
Man of Steel - flaws outweigh ambitions.
Dawn of Justice - messy.
Wonder Woman - ambitions outweigh flaws.
Suicide Squad - bad.
Justice League - insufferable.
Aquaman - surprisingly okay.
Shazam - better than bad.
Birds of Prey - abhorrent.
Snyder Cut - a lot of slow motion.
Wonder Woman 2 - laughably inept.
The Suicide Squad - genuinely entertaining.
Black Adam - not good.
Shazam 2 - not good, not bad.
The Flash - dry-cleaned turd.
Blue Beetle - better than it needed to be.
lol you gotta love RBM talking about Starro haha
It went off the rails when they decided to make MOS the first movie by an artistic director
Thank god. Put the universe out of it's misery.
Then bvs the jl then apocolypse then shazam then aquaman then flash.
I would have liked to see a man of steel 2 with ben affleck as bruce wayne showing up and then in a follow up movie him showing up as batman but a solo batman movie with diana prince may have worked better
