Maharaja Hari Singh preferred joining Pakistan . He only wanted special privileges for himself / Royalty.
But Pakistani leaders showing extreme arrogance did not engage with him. Instead they chose to launch a military ( tribal ) attack on it . Pakistan violated the Standstill Agreement it ha signed with the Maharaja ..
Then the Maharaja ( legally )acceded to India.

Junadagh declared to join with Pakistan but India forcefully occupied this land by using military force and the same with Hyderabad. India's logic was that majority were hindus and the king were Muslims. Kashmir was a Muslim majority country but the king was Hindu, Pakistan wanted to occupied Kashmir by using force, why this step is wrong same thing India did with same logic. Kashmiri peoples want to join with Pakistan, give them self determination.

Regarding Kashmir real criminal in this problem was nehru. Let me give why.
1. Kashmir riyasat was the land purchased by Hari sigh from Maharaj a ranjit sigh. Therefore he he had extra right to merge with what way he wanted.
2. Sheikh Abdullah was promoted by ndhru for unknown reasons. Fanatism was promoted by Abdullah and zinna.
3. Indian and pakistani Muslims alway feel that are children of invaders coming from afganistan, Iran and Central asia like barbarians taimur Lang, Ahmad shah aBdali, Mohammad ghori, etc.
There Pakistanis have rights on any of the Indian land and they should go back to their ancestral land.
In any case pakistan is now dying state and prone killing everyone ie bangaladeshi killing.
