Yes - you can buy the GO 3S as a standalone camera and use it with the ActionPod of the GO 3

3 minutes of the video and I decided to buy the go3s. 4k freeframe mode… oh yes baby.
You do not get 4K in FreeFrame with the GO 3S. You get some sort of cropped in video that looks worse than the FreeFrame with the GO3.

One aspect I am looking for that has not been included is the low light/ indoor/ night use cases. Is there a comparison with its predecessor, and possible the X3/X4?

The GO 3 S is actually better than I expected. I can see nice improvements over the previous GO 3, but I'm guessing they did not bring back the vibration haptic as in the GO 2. Am I right? That was a very useful feature IMO. Great review BTW!

I'm not an action camera owner but if I were to buy one, would you recommend DJI Action 4 or GO3S for good video quality and durability?

Is there a big difference in quality between standard video and freeform video? I know they're both 4k but surely there must be a quality reduction on freeform mode?
No - I wouldn't say that there is a noticeable difference - in free frame mode you choose the FOV in the App - and the stabilization is also done in the app
I'm disappointed in the way FreeFrame works with the GO 3S and the quality does not seem to be as good. You have to select 360 in post and it punches in so far that you might as well just get a GO 3 with a better use of the FreeFrame function.
Well for me the 4k ist useless, i stepped from 1440p down to 1080p because the battery can only record 15minutes. And for karting its Shit because i need more time, Before the camera automatically turns off because the battery is empty. I was able to record for 10 minutes and after a 10 minute break I could only record for 6-7 minutes (at 1440p 50fps) now I stepped down to 1080p 50fps and i Hope now the battery Last a Bit longer

We lost recordings of a wedding due to a firmware error.
The camera also has problems with the connection contacts.
It has a lot of errors.

If I was to buy the 3s as a stand-alone and put it into my go 3 action pod, will I still get all the other features? Gesture control/cancel recording/tilt fix/find my/less lag Etc
Yes, you just have to update the firmware

My GO 2 can fully lock the horizon regardless of the angle. They removed that on the 3?
No - it's still there, but only in FreeFrame Mode
You can but you have to use their app to do it i think, hence why i never use it.
My question is does it really matter if you get the 64 or the 128gb if you can just transfer the footage to your phone or I’m I wrong ?

With all the improvements sounds like ther could have just called it the Go 4.
The battery runs out after 10 minutes and there is no memory card. And a 10 minute video in 4K is a very large file for a cell phone.
LOL No 4k 60??? What is the point of this, why not just wait for the Go4 and put 4k 60 in that. This will probably just piss off current go3 users and i don't see anyone upgrading for such poultry specs.

The go3 was the camera that made me say i'm done with action cameras and finally bought a decent smartphone for a camera. WARNING IF YOU DON'T HAVE A TOP OF THE LINE SMARTPHONE NO INSTA360 PRODUCT WILL WORK WITH THEIR APP AND YOU'LL BE LEFT WITH A BRICK OR HAVE TO PAY OR GET SOMEONE TO UNLOCK IT.
So because you don’t have a modern/top of the line smart phone, you gave up on action cameras entirely?? How is that even a fair complaint??

You think they should be forced to buy a phone just to use a camera??? So if you have to connect every single electronic device to your phone guess you'd be cool with that as well.
@@TomuCow LOL, you don't need the app to use or download from the camera like every camera that's in the market. Use a computer, that's what I do, I hate doing things on my phone. I'm pretty sure everyone has either a computer or a tablet, which btw both pc and tablet can be used instead of a smartphone, nice try though.

@@TomuCow LOL, it's very easy, been doing this since the first action camera, nothing has changed other then people getting more lazy. Spyware LOL as apposed to your surfin on the internet, Google etc etc the list goes on. Here's what I find really funny, you sound like a big advocate of cellphones, you literally just contradicted yourself when it comes to big brother listening or spyware. Might want to do a bit more research privacy with cellphones. They can't pinpoint my location using my GO camera, but they sure as hell can with that nice 'smartphone' in your pocket.
