You solved the mystery on my Reebok Crosswalk 7.90. I was given this machine with the drive belt off the motor pulley. After repairing the motor armature, I could not figure out how to reinstall the drive belt on the pulleys after the motor was installed. There is no belt tension adjustment directly on the motor bracket. It bolts direct to the frame. So I see now that I need to loosen/remove the "rear" walking belt tension bolts. And I assume adjusting these bolts tensions both the walking belt and the motor drive belt? Interesting. Thanks for the video. Cheers
Thanks man ! I just find out that the bearing in the front roller are dragging. I tough the motor was going bad but after removing the belt , was smooth motor sound.
Do you spin the hex key to the right or to the left? It’s hard to tell in this video. I’m trying to replace a belt for a precor right now but either way I turn the bolts it doesn’t feel like it’s giving me any lee way. Any suggestions?
My belt feels like I am walking/ running on ice intermittently. I tightened / lubricated the deck belt. Do older drive belts need to be tightened or just replaced?
Hello, I was wondering if this procedure would work with a Nordictrack 2950 Commercial. Do I need to loosen the walking belt in order to remove front roller to slip the old belt out? Thank you so much for any help you can give me!!
Do you have the full model number off the machine? The model number is located at the base of the machine, usually up front by the power switch or if it is a fold up unit underneath on the frame and should start with NTL or 831
You're welcome, yes, you will need to loosen the walking belt to take the tension off the front roller in order to get the belt off. Can you send me a couple of photos of the pulley end of the front roller to mike.easterling@treadmilldoctor.com . Here is a diagram for your unit that you can download - sfi.iconfitness.com/SalesForceInterface/download/file?fileName=NTL22115.0ed.pdf&directory=%2Fpdf%2F
@@treadmilldoctor My Reebok Crosswalk is built similarly. It looks like that if the drive motor is bolted solidly to the frame with no obvious tensioner adjustment, then the adjustment is made with the rear walking belt roller adjustment bolts. I suspect this is the case for most treadmills. Correct me if I am wrong. Cheers
All of these DC motors I have worked on have a pair of brushes. With the particular model in the video you have to remove the fan and a shroud to get to the brush holder. And if you are handy with a soldering iron you can measure the brushes and purchase a set at a hardware store. Usually you then have to solder the black and red power leads to the brush wires. Can save you ~$50 bucks.

I have a ProForm 400CT There is a large bolt that holds the roller in place. Your treadmill may be similar. Loosen the bolt about half way until the roller disengages. Do NOT, I repeat do NOT remove the bolt from the frame. This will allow you to pull the front roller with pulley out enough to replace the belt. Once the belt is replaced, use the back roller adjustments which will pull the front roller into place and tighten the belt, and then tighten the large bolt holding the front roller.
Hi not sure if anyone can help me, I have a Power Trex TX4000, yesterday whilst using it, it started going very fast, I have never experienced this speed on the treadmill, I turned it off and back on, now it will not roll, it goes really, really slow and it very hard to walk on it, all the display seems fine, I don't know where to start???
This is likely a faulty motor controller, if the motor does not turn, here is a test you can run - www.treadmilldoctor.com/motor-testing www.treadmilldoctor.com/full-speed-upon-power-up-kf

Great! That is correct, tensioning the walking belt will also put tension on the drive belt as well.

That's great that you found the issue. Have you located a roller for your unit?
@@treadmilldoctor I just replaced the bearing and now is smooth not noise at all , I may go ahead and replace the one in the back roller also .
very helpful. I did it with this help.

I followed all of the directions & released the tension on the back roller, but the pulley didn’t move or release, what could the issue be?
