I was 13 years old when i first heard this and my father said to me the older you get the more you will appreciate the songs she sings the emotion she tenders and how good her voice is, WISE MAN MY DAD.
I heard this song when I was in high school, I dedicated it to my girlfriend. Sad to say we parted when I came to America. I still think of her today, some 50 years later.
The Lady had it all ... voice, looks, and a way of diving into your heart with her words and meanings. I was fortunate enough to hear her on the radio when she first came out and every note brings back the emotions of those days.
Such a remarkable talented singer that never got the recognition she truly deserved. Have been a huge fan of Timi's for 50+years and was terribly saddened by her untimely death. The world of music truly lost a true Icon and Legend in the history of "Rock & Roll", and thanks to UA-cam her great talent will live on for years to come.
was a 1961 baby got to know her singing by a friend at school in the 1970s her mum loved this lady as i do ,her songs traced my teenage years ,the emotions of lost love etc i remember these songs as a time in my life i can never get back x timmi was exceptional her voice resonates pain suffering and longed for love etc ,God how can you fault this woman ? you cant her music is timeless x
I cannot ever not forgive you. Because I love you. I care about you MORE THAN myself. You see I know you have much more to lose than myself. I'm nobody and you are somebody. I forgave you...along while ago.
When Timi sang it you believed it! I was 15 with the family in Okinawa with dad stationed in Okinawa when I heard this. So many great R&B songs in those years- Sam Cooke, Ray, the Coasters, Marvellettes!
I used to play her album when I was in my very early teens I was heartbroken over my first love , and my friend at the time showed me her mothers record collection of timi and her voice my god was amazing especially when she sang hurt and I apologize , here was me at 15 yrs old and my mother couldn’t believe it I was playing this kind of music , I am glad I watched the Netflix series the end of the f***ing world as I heard timi again one of the best voices of her time and if they sung her songs now they would be big hits
I first heard her wonderful voice over 50 years ago while living in Japan. I have admired her ever since. There will never be another. Undoubtedly one of the best female singers ever. The world lost a real jewel with her passing. RIP my dear Timi.
Damn. Just damn. What an emotional singer. I love this lady and her powerful appealing voice. She passed to soon. This song makes me want to cry, and in part because she's gone.
Love this song she sang with emotions and you can feel it. Never get tired listening to this song same with Hurt. Great singer. I think the old singers were the best. They can relate the emotions of the songs and terrific voices. I wish I saw them live performance.
Maybe one of the most heart felt approaches to a great tune, I could listen to this over and over and not get tired of her voice, it is so haunting, flawless, thanks so much for sharing, j
Timi Yuro had the best voice in the business. loved her singing since so got Hurt when it came out. so happy it's on utube. Thanks to all who went to the trouble to give us these great songs from Timi
When people talk about 'blue-eyed soul' they never seem to think of early pioneers of it such as Johnnie Ray, Kay Starr and Timi Yuro. Timi was a treasure - every song she sang, she poured her soul into it.
OMG!! Timi Yuro & Toni Fisher :such SOULFUL sounds!! Beautiful melodic voices,in my day it's what we called "Blue Eyed Soul",any way it was great!!! I still love it!!!
1961.........If I told a lie If I made you cry When I said goodbye I'm sorry From the bottom of, of my heart I apologize If I caused you pain I know I'm to blame I must have been insane Come on, forgive me From the bottom of my broken heart I apologize I realize I've been unfair to you Please let me make, make amends Don't say that you forgot the love we knew After all, we were more than just friends Now, if I made you blue I've had some heartaches too I beg of you Come on, forgive me From the bottom of, of my heart right now I have got to apologize Oh, Oh I'm sorry Oh, Oh I'm sorry Dear.......1961
I'm a long time fan.She sings to the lonely and broken hearted from some deep place inside her soul. She's been there...you feel it...there is comfort in knowing that. Some of us believe she deserves to be in the Rock n' roll hall of fame.
I am so sorry to hear of her death. I knew her when she worked in her parents' restaurant. We were both very young and I admired her voice even then. Rest in peace little sister.

When I was a kid, I use to sing this song, and my Papa likes it so much...

She’s just fabulous! God do I miss this music!! Today’s music stinks compared to this era ...Thanks for sharing with us
The Lady had it all ... voice, looks, and a way of diving into your heart with her words and meanings. I was fortunate enough to hear her on the radio when she first came out and every note brings back the emotions of those days.

What an amazing singer she deserved much more success than she got. One of the classiest performers ever.
I've been a professional musician since 1963 and this version of this song just knocks my socks off! What powerful expression! I'm amazed!
My third favorite Timi recording. "Hurt", "Smile" then this gem. Love this womans singing. The best singer ever.

Where was her management? It’s like they couldn’t recognize or find her “lane”. What a shame she wasn’t more successful.
She had a very powerful voice.
Hello Mary, How are you doing?
Such a remarkable talented singer that never got the recognition she truly deserved. Have been a huge fan of Timi's for 50+years and was terribly saddened by her untimely death. The world of music truly lost a true Icon and Legend in the history of "Rock & Roll", and thanks to UA-cam her great talent will live on for years to come.
I've always thought of her as more of an R&B singer, but I'm in agreement with the rest of your post.
Milton ----- excellent comment so true
Timi was like an also-ran, when she should have been a queen.
Amen
Yes can she sing absolutely!!!
She was phenomenal, her voice and words really penetrated your heart may she rest in peace, she was one of the best

She was so brilliant - searing emotion and a stunning voice. Never got her due.
More than 50 years and Timi still makes a lump in the throat when she sings. Nobody can get into your soul like the sound of her voice can.
Jeffrey Mott “get into your soul” is a perfect description.
I first heard her wonderful voice over 50 years ago while living in Japan. I have admired her ever since. There will never be another. Undoubtedly one of the best female singers ever. The world lost a real jewel with her passing. RIP my dear Timi.

no one else sounds like her. she's got the best voice.
Her style and, to an extent, her voice are very much like Dinah Washington.
I was thinking Etta James, and I agree it sounds like Dinah too
Remember well my father lived her voice... I was 11 when this was released..RIP
I heard this at a funeral once. It meant a lot to people.
What an amazing idea..putting this on my to do list ...thank you
If some of these 50-60s era singers were around now, they would be a slam dunk winner of The Voice....

On se plaint des jeunes qui font des fautes d'orthographe, mais les vieux fossiles qui savent pas écrire, c'est pire!

Wow!!!!its my first time to hear this song ❤👏👏👏
1961.........If I told a lie
If I made you cry
When I said goodbye
I'm sorry
From the bottom of, of my heart
I apologize
If I caused you pain
I know I'm to blame
I must have been insane
Come on, forgive me
From the bottom of my broken heart
I apologize
I realize I've been unfair to you
Please let me make, make amends
Don't say that you forgot the love we knew
After all, we were more than just friends
Now, if I made you blue
I've had some heartaches too
I beg of you
Come on, forgive me
From the bottom of, of my heart right now
I have got to apologize
Oh, Oh
I'm sorry
Oh, Oh
