Timi Yuro with out a doubt had one of the greatest singing voice's of all time. The power and emotion she put into her songs is just remarkable.I've been listening to her sing for over 50 years and I thank those who put her video's on UA-cam. When ever Timi sang in Vegas Elvis would fly in to see her shows. So sadly ironic that throat cancer is what killed her. So sad we lost her at such a young age.
What a Sweet Lady she was ...so humble and appreciative of the fans who loved her..who will always remember the joy she brought them through that beautiful contralto voice !!!
I'm So Hurt! That Timi Yuro had to leave this earth so soon! Amazing voice. I moved to Las Vegas in 1998, found out that Timi lived here, but was unable to sing. She had cancer of the throat, and... had her voice box removed in 2002 to try to stop the cancer! Sadly, she died in 2004 and I never got to meet her nor hear her sing in person. RIP, Rosemary (Timi) Yuro!
I first heard Timi's wonderful voice over 50 years ago while living in Japan and I have admired her ever since. That rare contralto voice has such power and range. Her songs were sung with true emotion. Absolutely fabulous. This kind of singer doesn't come along very often. I'm thankful for Timi entertaining me all these years. The world lost a real jewel with her early passing. RIP my dear Timi.
BUT SHE NEVER SANG ROCK AND ROLL.😟🤔 THIS WOULD BE JUST AS IRRELEVENT AS SAYING THAT THE OPERA SINGER LEONTYNE PRICE WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST VOCALISTS OF THE ROCK AND ROLL ERA. Respectfully😊
What a wonderful song by Timi. She sure can carry her voice in a way that I am sure she is still singing in heaven with the other angels. Rest in Peace Maam"
This is the only Timi Yuro song that I ever heard up until very recently. I have since been listening to her on Amazon Alexa almost every day since. She sang so many songs and all were great.
I love you Timi Yuro. I've always admired you part of my youthful to college days so memorable your songs are. You're so timeless never fades & still beautiful, a great artist & music entertainer. Thank you so much!
I WAS STUNNED BY THIS PERFORMANCE, WHICH IS FAR SUPERIOR TO HER STUDIO RECORDING. HER VOICE AGED LIKE FINE WINE. I'M SURE SINGING BEFORE AN AUDIENCE PULLED THE MOST OUT OF HER IN TERMS OF AN IMMORTAL, CELESTIAL, "SHOW-STOPPING" PERFORMANCE. HOPEFULLY SHE IS PRESENTLY AT🌠🙏"THE SOURCE OF ALL LIGHT."🙏🌠
I'll just say I sang nearly all of her ong when I was a young well known singer in Louisiana, Brenda Lee, Etta James, Diana, Washington and other, But I could always bring the house down with Hurt, I Apologize, an I'm sorry 79, now. Good memories.
One of a few singers that kept her voice when she got older. Loved this song from way back when I was a teen. The best era with the best music....timeless.
I don't believe any of her songs that I did not love, she had a strong powerful voice, songs that she sung made everyone cry, that is how she wanted to do. Bring out the love of our hearts. She did that to me.
i thought when i heard Elvis sing this song i thought wow that man could sing but after hearing this version i have to take my hat of to Timi just like Elvis pure class.
She opened many times for Frank Sinatra. Elvis flew in to see her live shows. She sang duets with Willie Nelson & Johnny Ray. The record companies didn't know what to do with her but many famous people did. She was astonishing. Just look at her microphone technique. Many singers have no clue how to hold the mike to let it work for you & when to pull it away. Timi Yuro is up there with Aretha, Dusty Springfield, Barbra Streisand, and so many others. But Timi -- she has a special powerful place. Her expressive voice doesn't go into the diva showboat realm. Her sincerity is everything and like Elvis at the end of her life -- her voice never failed her.
Just wonderful Timi, your energy of your voice still penetrates through time. A poem for Timi. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I'm not asleep. I am the thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on the snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quite birds in circle flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I cant believe I've forgotten about her. Her voice, WOW. She was one of my favorite favorite singer growing up. I hope the R&RHOF induct her where she belongs.
when she sang this at the evening to promote musicsales in the Netherlands, she didn't have any idea that within a few weeks her song reached the top of the hitparades around europe and she got many Golden Records for this.
A wonderfully talented artist! Still can't believe I had the very good fortune to hear her and see her, from about ten feet away, not in Las Vegas, nor Europe, but in the basement of a Church fellowship hall, In Brooklyn, in 1962 at a Friday night teenage school dane. Swept my musical ears, and 16 year old heart, away in a minute!
I NEVER HURT A VOICE AFTER TIMI YURO UNTIL WHITNEY HOUSTON WHICH WAS AMAZING. TO HEAR WHITNEY VOICE WAS LIKE THE RETURN OF TIMI YURO AGAIN! To me Timi Yuro had an unbelievable Voice!
Talk about a underground legendary Superstar, Timi Yuro was the greatest of them all and this audience knew it...too bad Timi wasn't given this kind of treatment in the US and it is amazing to think she didn't even have a major label recording contract at this time and she was clearly in her prime...Bravo to this blazing talent & Timi you top them all with that incredible soulful voice & you are truly missed!!!

Great Voice. 💞
I only knew the version of Elvis, but this version touched me too.
It touched Elvis, too. He had her record in his collection. This and Roy Hamilton's Version basically inspired his take on this song.
