This is wonderful and powerful. I was adopted at two-days-old. My birth mother was only 15 at the time. Thankfully, the physician who would become my great uncle delivered me and his niece and nephew-in-law adopted me. That was in 1959 when adoption was much different. I'm so grateful beyond words my birth mother made that choice, the Lord blessed me with the best parents on earth, and I've now gotten to meet my half-sister. Thank you for this interview and song.
That conversation with you all was so good. Thank you.
I have always been amazed at the attitude in the Christian community towards adoption. When an adoption was being planned by a family member, people were actually saying "how can you just throw a baby away." I was almost speechless, until the Lord just gave me EXACTLY these words: If it weren't for adoption, you wouldn't be a child of God. How can a picture of what God has done for us be treating a child as trash?
Thank you for this wonderful conversation on adoption. So insightful.
This was one of my favorite! I was a single Christian mom at 34 years in 2001. I remember always being pro life, But when it happens you are pregnant because of making some bad choices and find yourself pregnant you are scared. Abortion at midnight comes across your mind when you are looking at stick that is telling you are pregnant. I thought no one will know. Then Gods voice comes in and tells you, Carry this little one for nine months. The baby didn't make the choice, Thank God, I was a nanny to very christian family. Told me you have nine months to decide. But I knew in my heart that I will keep him. I have a supportive family who loves me. God, has always been there. I am a Mother of a sixteen year old son. Who honors God makes great grades just loves life. I am amazed at young women who give their child for adoption that is true love.
This song had me crying tears...powerful.
So beautiful! I'm in tears of joy. God bless you all mightily.
Darn, you all made me cry at 4 minutes! :)
So very touching! Wow!
Thank you dear Brothers for your vid. May our God continue to bless you guys in this. 🙏
But you had me laughing at onesie!
This was such a special conversation for us. My hubby, who was adopted, also adopted my son that I had before I was married. I was told that he would never amount to anything because he was 'born in sin'. Well my darling husband took him on as his own and together we brought him up to love Jesus. Today he is a Minister of Religion and leads the Salvation Army in the Solomon Islands. You're a real blessing Mark... you and Andrew and your special guests. We pray for you every day. We haven't watched any of your Dinner Conversations this year... my beloved hubby has been diagnosed (just before Christmas) with an agressive cancer. This cancer cannot be cured... he has refused Chemo... and he OK with it all because he knows he will go to be with the Lord... he is just saddened to leave me and our family... As for me... I'm devasted and I don't know where my faith has gone. My friend says "your faith is in shock" We'll catch up with the new Conversations Mark... God Bless you
Faith is the gaze of the soul upon saving God. A.W. Tozer
"Oh, soul are you weary and troubled, no light in the darkness, you see; there's light for a look at the Savior and life so abundant and free...Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in your wonderful face";
Dear one, ask Jesus give you grace and faith for this journey that you've never walked before. Ask Him to bring to your memory those times God was faithful to you in your past; remember how He walked through the 'valley of the shadow of death' with you before; Our Father will walk with you and/or even carry you through your husbands dying days and into your future life without this man you love. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Be still. Wait; take courage; watch; trust.
Honey, something that's worked for me is, DO THE NEXT THING. Instead of looking too far ahead, instead of letting your imagination take you into dark places, just do the next thing. Make the bed, prepare a meal, take a bath, wash the clothes, wash the dishes. You will get through this, not just somehow but triumphantly, because God is with you, your husband and your family.
If you have a church family, ask for help. They are the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.
Now cry out to God, our Helper. He will hear. You just do the next thing.
Again so much truth, sharing is so important. Not only does it help you and others to relate it also removes the power of secret memories. A Hero so true The Mother who give her child up for a better life. No greater love than this.
You have helped me see what to do when trouble comes. I can imagine myself on God's shoulder, and go to sleep.
check out a series called Long Lost Families it deals with this all the time
Beautiful!❤💕
God gave me 3 kids whom I fostered from our church. They became MINE through Legal Guardianship. They did'nt have love, and I praise God for that.
Instant connection...Mark, I too am adopted. I got a call one day and the lady asked "are you left handed" ?? I was like, what ?? She said "please, just answer my question". . .I told her yes, who is this ? She said "I am your birth Mom". God gave me the opportunity to meet my birth Mom before she passed. I see the Hand of God in the whole situation. My Mom was SO afraid I would hate her...I assured her she gave the ultimate sacrifice and I love her for giving so fully of herself. Nothing she could have done would make me not love her, and my birth Daddy. She explained the whole situation (my birth Daddy was sent to Viet Nam and I found out died as a result)...she couldn't raise a child on her own at 16 years of age. My paternal grandfather offered the money for an abortion but she believed in life and immediately rejected his offer. She said walking away from the hospital, at Christmas of 1961, was the hardest thing she ever did, but she gave another family, who couldn't have children, the gift of family. She got to meet her 5 grandkids and we had a wonderful 5 years before she passed. The story is amazing as is the plan of God....I'm adopted, twice !!
Mark, I'm hoping someday you choose to search for your birth mother... she would be so proud of you and be delighted to know you wanted to meet her! I was reunited with my birth mother in 2007... the call from the agency came on my Birthday! When my BM passed on August 2nd 2018.... It was on the day of my adopted Mother's Brthday! Amazing God story.
Since Jesus adopted me am I Jewish Baptist?
