There are several phosphate test kits out there, like AquaChek, Taylor and a few others. Most kits only measure orthophosphates, however. If you want to know if phosphates are present in your pool, you can simply take a capful of PR-10,000 and drop it in your pool. Count to 30 seconds. If the clouding gets larger than a basketball, it's probably time to treat. If it gets WAY bigger than a basketball, we would definitely treat. It's certainly not an exact science, but it's the most reliable way identify any and all types of phosphates in your pool, not just ortho.
I have a hot tub, water looks great yet my tests show phosphates..I have 210 gal salt water hotspa and my reading is 4400 phosphates. I am using phas free and not getting anywhere. Help
Sorry to hear that. If you have a covered hot tub and are draining and replacing your water every couple of months, you may not need to address phosphates. We would suggest doing so, but it may be overkill for you. For just 210 gallons, try half an ounce of PR-10,000, and enjoy the show. You’ll need to clean the filter cartridge when it done though...dust will be everywhere.
Monica, so nice to see you in a video. Hope all is well. God Bless.
Pool Perfect PhosFree has phosphate remover and enzymes in a single product. Great stuff
Careful now, Andrew. CV-700 lacks self esteem already, and you’ll make it jealous if you keep this up.
How do the test phosphate in my pool? Do you have a video about how to test it
